Carol: I'm over on the Green Bay side. Hello fellow Wisconsin-ite :)

Robin: I just started taking them last night. So I'm hoping that it kicks in soon. Has he had any of the side-effects that were "possible"? Is it still raining?

Mealy: I can relate to wanting to stay in bed on rainy days!! But having to get my kids on the bus doesn't allow it

Lily: WTG on the exercise. And you play for real money on the internet? I haven't done that. I also don't know how to play texas hold- em even though I've watched the poker tournaments on tv. It looks like a fun game :)

Well, my arm STILL is bothering me. It's got a great big welt where the shot is and it's VERY sore. I hate moving it. And I'm SOOO tired I could just fall over right now. I even went to bed at 8:00 last night!! That's early for me! I could have gone to bed at 6:00 I was THAT tired!! It wasn't the "p" pills--I was tired before I took those. But of course, I still woke up a couple times to use the bathroom. Interesting directions on those pills. It says to drink plenty of water (which makes me pee a lot to begin with) with the "P" pills (which are supposed to PREVENT me from having to pee so much) :lol3: SO confusing!

I think I'm going to go lay down for a while. I hate being this tired!!!

Brenda, I hope you feel better soon.
I only play internet poker with fake chips. I play real money tournaments with friends and at a small Indian Gaming Casino that is 30 min's from here. That is where I played last night. I am planning on playing in Tunica Mississippi on OCt. 1st for the Women's Circuit Event. Winner gets $600,000 and a seat at the World Series of Poker. I have been playing for about 8 yrs. but only recently started playing any real money games. I like playing low stakes games just to improve my game. I certainly still have a lot to learn. I am reading 2 books on strategic play now. My DH always loses, even on the internet. lol. He's untrainable.

Congrats on the winnings, Lilybelle. And I hope things start looking up about the nerves. What about visiting another doctor to get his opinion?

*waves* Hi to everyone. I've been reading here in the mornings with my coffee but life is a bit crazy here now. Moving day is tomorrow and I feel like I've been surrounded by boxes for weeks. The boys and I found a wonderful house to move into that is very close to the high school. roomy for all of us (even Melis to visit from college), has a pool (and paid for pool/lawn service!), and backs up to a golf course. We are sooo excited but this move prep has really kicked my butt! I'm really looking forward to settling in and getting control back of my life (and my eating/exercising).

Chat at ya all soon!

Kel

Brenda~ one of the side effects for dh's pills is lower blood pressure....which is fine for him since its high anyway, and he's on meds for that. Other than that, thats it. He actually had the nerve to tease me on our last road trip because I had to pee every hour and a half....just like he used to :p I hope your feeling better soon....get your rest, and dont feel guilty about it!

Kel~ I wish you an uneventful, smooth easy move to your new home! Sounds like a very nice place too!

Dh and I are off to lunch with a couple who are long time friends, but are having marriage troubles, and tend to not hide it in front of others. The last lunch we went to, it was quite uncomfortable.....I hope this one is better. Anyway, I scoped out the menu online, and it looks like I'll have heaps and heaps to choose from! Im very excited about this! Its a new place (new to us)we havent tried before. Its been there since 1907!! I love those kinds of places.

Well, Im off to get some work done before we go for lunch.

Have a great day ladies!

lilybelle 09-15-2006 01:20 PM

Robin, I hope you have a great lunch. It is so uncomfortable to be around another couple when they aren't getting along.

lilybelle 09-15-2006 01:25 PM

I have been on the phone for an hour this AM with the run-a-round from my insurance company on where I can get my new orthopedic foot device that will be covered by insurance. Gotta love the bureaucracy. Glad I made the call , the place I was scheduled to be fitted at isn't a network provider for BC/BS and it would have costed over $1000.00. Now, I have a new appt. on Monday that is in Network. It will pay at 100% with this pre-certification.

Good Morning :coffee:

Well, Ive been up since 4 this morning :dizzy: I dont know why. So I finished my book, took out the garbage, I think I'll go hop in the shower before I wake hubby up.

Yesterdays lunch turned out pretty good. The Mrs. was very quiet ....and that is very unlike her! The Mr. dominated the conversation, which we expected because there were things we needed to discuss (sign making machines and what not)...he is thinking of getting into the same thing we are, well, same but different. When his Mrs. got up to go to the bathroom he said, I have to get her involved in something, or get her out of the house working. This couple is in their mid 50's, and she married him to be his wife, cook, clean and be home for him. Well its now driving them both mad after 10 yrs of marriage. I can certainly understand where both of them are coming from. I hope this works out for them. At least this lunch was much friendlier.

As for the food, it was delicious!! The waitress was awesome!!!!! No comments about my eating or things I didnt want on my food. The fish came with breadcrumbs, so I asked for none, and when I asked about the potato, before I could even ask for a change she offered me green beans instead....gotta love that woman!!

Today is the grandkids birthday brunch....which reminds me, I better wrap their presents  I decided Im not going to worry about what she is serving, and Im not going to worry about hurting her feelings. Especially when she doesnt take anyone else into consideration besides herself. I dont think Im going to be there long anyway. She is NOT the cleanest person in the world, along with that, 2 cats a dog and my allergies...I'll be good for about a 1/2 hr before I have to leave. Unless her dh has been picking up the slack....but I doubt it, he only does that when he is on holidays.

Alright, Im off to start my sunday, have a great op day ladies!

WI was a little disappointing as the scale is where my siggie states. BUT I made sure to take my measurements and good thing I did because THOSE went down (not a lot, but I'll even take the little it did go down). My appetite is non-existant and I think that's due to the "P" pills. I just have to remember that even though I'm not hungry and am forcing myself to eat, that doesn't mean I have to eat a LOT. And TOM is supposed to be here tomorrow--which is another reason I'm not sweating the scale not moving.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

lilybelle 09-16-2006 11:47 AM

Good morning everyone. I went to get the used exercise bike this AM. The man that was home, said it's at his wife's BF's. This was uncomfortable to say the least. He did say he'd get it there tonite and I can pick it up tomorrow.
My eating is on program and I feel pretty good right now.

lady_adnerb 09-16-2006 06:21 PM

After a piece of cherry torte and apple pie (both pieces weren't big--but they weren't the smallest) I feel ICKY!! But you know, considering what I've consumed in the past weekends I consider those small things a success. Small steps. Now to go back to being OP for the rest of the weekend and I'll consider it all good. Then next weekend work on being 100% OP. That's the plan anyway. Also need to make sure I get my water intake. That's slacking again.

lilybelle 09-16-2006 06:50 PM

Brenda, when I eat sweets that are off program , I always feel icky too. Good luck with being back on program. I'm definitely behind in drinking my water too. Thanks for the reminder.

 Happy Sunday Ladies

yesterday went great, I have almost a whole cake (pieces of different b-day cake) sitting on my counter. I didnt cover it, and left it over night.....just like that. So I wont be tempted to eat stale yucky sugary cake  I'll have to cut pieces off of it (and toss it) so the grandkids think I had some of their b-day cake. Dh and I managed to get away with no cake yesterday

Its a beautiful day here today :sunny: Im going to see if I can get everyone out with me to enjoy it! Have a great day ladies

lady_adnerb 09-17-2006 09:47 AM

I can fit into a pair of pants that were previously too tight. So I'm hoping that means I didn't do too much damage with the torte yesterday. Plus with TOM coming I'm not going to worry about the scale. I'm just happy I can put another pair of pants BACK into my dresser!!! WAHOO! The "P" pills have killed my appetite. So I have to watch it so I don't overeat just from habit. I want to take advantage of NOT being hungry so that I can (hopefully) cut down on food portions :)

mealybug 09-17-2006 10:21 AM

to eat or not to eat

Nice lazy sunday so far... woke up about 9:30.. my kinda day! I was feeling pretty tired and last night felt some dizziness. THis morning I als had hunger pangs which I never have in teh morning and certainly havent had any at all all day since after about day 3 on induction. Im trying to figure out why
Yesterday I went out for dinner with my hubby and in laws... It was really good and there were lots of good choices. I went with a fillet of salmon in butter and a portobella mushroom stuffed with scallops and shrimp and a side of broccoli. It came with desert with my hubby glady ate for me. I also had about three cups of tea.
Im thinking my symptoms could either be becasue I havent had caffeine in almost two weeks or maybe there was something offplan in the stuffed mushroom. I couldnt see anything like breadcrumbs but it was like a thick cheesy sauce that held everything together on top of the mushroom. Maybe there was flour in that. I dont know if that bit of flour is enough to throw me off my induction diet. It doesnt matter, Im not going to start over but I wont get frustrated and go off plan or anything.

But... I already think this is a bad idea but I am hoping it will be ok... When my 14day induction is over Im planning to have a slice of some sort of yummy offplan dessert. The only benefit of this is that I cant see myself going for months and months with no desserts and not getting fed up and just quitting the diet. I decided it is better to have an occasional dessert than to jsut give up the diet completely.
If I eat just one dessert would taht mean I have to restart induction or can I go from there to the 2nd phase??
Should I jsut not have anything off plan at all??? HELP!!:?:

lilybelle 09-17-2006 11:33 AM

It's a quiet, rainy Sunday morning here.
mealybug, if you decide to have the dessert, I wouldn't necessarily start induction all over. I'd just go on to phase 2.
My weight is up and I'm now back at my goal level. I need to cut back again. I am trying. I am definitely going to drink a lot of water and try to exercise whatever I can. I bought a bunch of LC breakfast bars last week and have been eating them. I think they may be causing me to gain. They do have a lot of sugar alcohols in them. They were the south beach variety and showed only 2 net carbs. Has anyone else had problems with gaining with these. My carb totals have stayed around 20 per day , so I don't see any other reason that I am gaining. I know my exercise has been lacking as well as my water consumption. Also, big problems with constipation again. So, I'm off to get me some ice water and try to load up on it.
