I hope that you feel better Robin!
|
Thanks everyone for the support. The back is feeling better. It's gotta be because tomorrow I've got grocery shopping to do (dh is going to be working all weekend and won't have time to come with. So figure it's easier to do it while he's working and the girls are in school). But I'm off to bed now (not that I didn't get ENOUGH rest. ARGH!). Hopefully tomorrow I can start with getting back on track doing personals. Not sure I can get caught up though :( to everyone!!
|
ok I have a question, what are the little egg looking things that appear in the bottom left hand corner when we post?
|
the egg with an explanation point: if you click on it then that particular post will be sent to the admin as a 'bad or offending' post...
the egg on the left: it sometimes shoes if that user is online or not...kinda like yahoo messenger but it's an egg :) Good morning girls!!! I'm gonna try to get a walk in this morning then I have to pick my van up at the shop, it will be great having wheels again!!!! Have an awesome day ladies!! ONE DAY AT A TIME!! |
Morning to you all!! I'm going shopping today...I'm excited. Taking legal snacks with me.
Glad you are feeling better Brenda. to you all. Hope everyone has a GREAT day!!!!!!!!!!!! :sunny: |
Morning Girls:
Jackie: have a blast shopping, especially if it's for yourself! Brenda: Gentle  ! Glad you're feeling better. Back pain really sucks.. Our backs take incredible beatings, and we need to treat them better than we do. Do you do any type of Yoga? It is wonderful, gentle, and strengthening to the back (as well as the rest of ya) but you'll find a lot of doctors recommend it to back patients. Robin: Feel better.. Do you think that feeling had anything to do with withdrawls since you're back on induction? Jenni - It's a hard market, and one that is so cut throat, it's more of a pain than a pleasure. I certainly don't want to sound discouraging, because I do make some money, but I also have a one of a kind product (a particular type of artwork that my partner creates) and people search specifically for it, but I have always said that it would be easier to have a physical shop in town. You are 1 special shop out of, say, 5,000 stores, vs. the internet where you are 1 out of 3.5 million or more. Good luck, be patient, and advertise like a mad woman! Also, be sure to have your own domain, and a professional looking website -- easy to navigate -- and you should be fine. :) Well, down another pound water, so I am back to 184 from 189. I refused to move the ticker since I knew it was temporary, and dangit, I worked so hard to get it there in the first place! LOL We'll see if it moves any more this weekend. So yesterday DH and I take the kids to get their shoes, and I actually saved $25 dollars! I only spent $200! *sigh* They are expensive, but they get well used, and the only time they need to be exchanged is when they grow out of them. Robin, i'd love to see what your neighbor girl is doing to 'blow out' her soft shoes. I wonder if she's practicing on a surface she's not supposed to. That will ruin them fast, otherwise there's no softshoe dance that rough.. not that i've seen anyhow. Now the hardshoe is a different story. Tap dancers have nothing on irish hardshoe. It even looks painful, and they have to have extrememly strong ankles or they can break them. It happens rarely, but has happened. It's so fun to watch.. It's nice you have someone across the street entertaining the neighborhood! :) If we lived in a neighborhood, Chelsea would be out there all the time! So we had to get her a new pair, but the store has an exchange program, and if they are in good condition, you can get pretty darn good credit when you need another pair. The thing that I hate about having to get the brand new ones (besides being $100) is, now get this ladies, she's 12 and wears a size 9 1/2 womens! She's only 5'4 -- and she'll be out of those in no time. Anyhow, bought the rest of the show socks, got Moose a pair of hard shoes, and soft.. and $200 later, we got home and they wanted to put them on right away. Can't do that.. I have to get the pressed wood today to put over the lenolium (sp?) So that's the arrand for Friday. :) Ok, long winded about the shoes, but that was an adventure.. even getting down there through an area of Denver I wasn't familiar with. Anyone else got a baaaadddd passenger seat driver? Yeah, my husbands one of them.. Argh! Have a great day ladies.. Check in later. |
Lacy: I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have a vehicle! Glad yours is fixed. And the one day at a time is a great show....and attitude
Jackie: Have fun shopping--anything particular you're looking for?? Falon: WTG on the pound down...AND getting the shoes. Sounds like quite the adventure. Um...should I mention I'm a bad passenger seat driver? I much prefer to drive. lol. Should I also mention DH has had TWO speeding tickets in the past 6 months? Need I go onto why I prefer to drive? Cheaper  No, I've not tried yoga. Is it hard to do? Maybe I should check into that--thanks :) Well, I stepped on the scale yesterday and was up 2 pounds. Today I'm down 1 pound. I hate this see-saw thing. And especially seeing how I eat pretty much the same thing ALL the time so there's no reason for it to do that. On a plus note--my back is well enough to go shopping. On a bad note--would you believe I think I now have PINKEYE??? I should be ok to go shopping as long as I don't touch the eye. But DANG it's bothering me something AWEFUL! But to end on a good note--I've got meds from LAST year yet for pinkeye so I put the drops in this morning. One thing or another with me, eh?!! Ok..it's off to shopping |
Good Morning :coffee:
Brenda~ Im glad you're feeling better. I cant imagine having my back randomly "not working" when mine acts up, its almost always pms or too much bending with pms on the way. .....yes I can understand why you like to drive  Jackie~ have fun shopping......going to get anything good??? Lacey~ I was going to say something yesterday, but you know you are just too pissed off, that you know you're going to come across as a real piece of work?? That was me yesterday  What gets me is, they just installed all brand new plasma tv's in the cardio room *8* of them!!!! I think the $$ would have been better spent on the equipment....cuz now I cant turn the channels on the stupid things. Yesterday I was stuck watching the 700 club :dizzy: Im going later tonight, and I'll talk to the owner then. Sandra~ if you see a yolk in one of those eggies, that means that person is online at the moment, no yolk, they are not online :) Falon~ Sounds like an adventure getting those shoes!! Im not sure how she blows out her shoes, but its always at a dance meet or compitition. After one inparticular in pennsylvannia, we were anxious to see how she did, we went over while they were unloading the van, her dad showed us her shoes. She went blew out one pair, and the other pair looked like they were 100 yrs old  They carry duct tape with them on these compititions incase they can't get a new pair for her to dance in. She uses those little mini trampolines and skippits to strengthen her ankles. Her and her dance troup travel all over the place for dances. I could honestly say she dances in meets, compititions and for the public about as often as hockey players, play hockey. You had asked Falon if I thought it was induction that was making me feel that way yesterday. I honestly don't think so. When I start induction, I always plan for it, and take 3-4 days before, sort of coming down off the crap. I'll still eat it, but in much smaller amounts, so that I dont get all yucky and have severe withdrawals when I start induction. Yesterday was the 4th day of induction, and it was weird!! I slept for 3 hrs in the afternoon, then went to bed at 9, and got out of bed at 10 this morning :dizzy: To be honest.......and being honest with myself, induction from the beginning hasnt felt good. Usually by the 3rd day, Im already full of energy, and feeling "good" inside. Not this time. Im looking alot better for it.......just looking at my face, you can tell I had been eating too much sugar. But that was about it. Ive lost a few lbs, because my jeans aren't nearly as tight as they were. But, but, but..... So, Ive decided to switch my eating....Ive done it before, and I can successfully do it again. Lower carb and controlled calorie to keep the balance in my system. I have a harder time with the cravings when I eat this way....but for me, I think it might be better. Im going to think on it a couple days. Well, I think Ive finished this book  Im off to make some late breakfast and head out in the fresh air for a nice walk. Have a great day ladies |
Brenda look for a Rodney Yee video for "beginners". I think he has one specifically for the back. He is an amazing yoga instructor, the movements are all gentle and relaxed and you feel wonderful when you are done with one of his exercise tapes.
I have two of them by him. If any of the movements are too hard for you, you just don't do them. Work up to the harder ones. But most of them are just gentle stretches that anyone should be able to do (the begginner tapes anyway, I couldn't say about the more advanced versions). |
Robin: I can't wait to see how your new WOE works for you :) Keep us informed :)
Sherry: I've got it written down and I'll look for him. I should probably be doing something to help strengthen my back. But I've got to admit I'm still in shock that it's doing this. lol Well, shopping is done. And because I went to the "big town" to shop, saved money (I think). So we'll see how that goes. Just the "basic" necessities is what I'll need to get for the next 2 weeks (maybe). But still have 1 more errand to run for DH and then I can be home for the day. YEAH! I came home to get a piece of sausage cuz I'm HUNGRY and didn't want to buy junk from the store. Ok...I'm outta here (again). |
Brenda so nice to see you back posting again. Sorry about those 3 nasty pounds...I'd probably have to say the nasty "E" word (exercise) might help. Otherwise....as Lacey suggested...the fat fast might work. Just stay OP and they will eventually come off. Be careful with your back if you do any exercise though.
I went shopping today and got in lots of walking. Didn't buy too much, but went to Sam's and spent more $ than I should have. I almost bought a $700 refrigerator...then logic kicked in and I didn't. But it was beautiful...Stainless front with the freezer drawer on the bottom. I LOVED it. And it was discounted $300. What a deal. Anyway. Came home without it. AND I bought a new shirt that I loved, but I bought it a size too small...just a little incentive. |
Jackie: The shopping sounded like fun. More fun than I had shopping
Found a cute skirt w/matching top for youngest DD (didn't buy it...hoping it'll still be there next time I go) for Easter and SIL's wedding. Has to double duty to make it excusable to buy---know what I mean? Also found out DH got a job same place but in a different department. He's been wanting to go back there for AGES. Now they're offering him the job...PLUS the department he's in, his boss wants to talk to him before he leaves (cuz he doesn't want DH to leave that department either). Can you imagine being fought over? No wonder he was in such a great mood :) The good news is that when he goes to the new department (he's already decided) they're working overtime. He likes that idea so we can put more towards getting the bills paid off. And he doesn't TRULY want me to work. So that'll make it so I don't have to :) On the down side--I had a couple soda's today and not enough water...on the other downside--I don't think I ate nearly enough. So I'm not looking forward to WI tomorrow. Well, there's always next week and the dreaded "e" word. Nope to the fat fast right now as I've done that and going to wait until I'm VERY frustrated before trying that again  Well, off to bed. It's an EARLY day tomorrow. ARGH!!!! |
Good Morning :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:
Ive been up since 5 :yikes: Tossed and turned for about a 1/2hr, and couldnt get my brain to shut up. So I got out of bed. I guess with all that sleep the other day, my body has had enough. :dunno: Brenda~ that sounds nice for your dh. Especially since he has been trying to get back to that dept for a while. My dh doesnt want me to work away from the home either.......they get spoiled fast dont they? Dh and I are off to Rochester today, for some dinosaur bbq and a whole lotta smoked ribs :T :T :T It was suppose to be my birthday dinner, but my mom had come to visit on that weekend, and this was the first chance we have had to get away. So that's what we are up today. Its only about an hours drive, and then I think I'll stop into the Land's End outlet while Im there. You just never know what your going to find there!! But I'll go there before BBQ, because nothing fits when I leave there  I was hoping for a nice day, but so far its dreary and snow/rainy. I wanted to do some touristy things when we got there. Doesnt look like we will get the chance. Next time. I think I have things worked out in my head, Ive got a few books out, and I still plan to keep it low carb, but I'll add a whole grain of some sort (not bread) everyday, and I will not restrict my veggie carbs. Im going to keep them free....as in veggies will not be added in my carb count, but will be added in my calorie count. No more than one piece of fruit(or one serving of berries) a day, and I will try to have it early in the day, or just before bedtime. Im going to stick with ...nothing white, nothing starchy. Which is how I started on my weightloss 5 yrs ago. I'll have it better planned out by tomorrow, and I'll post my daily menus in the easter dress challenge. Have a great weekend ladies :beach: |
Robin: Sounds like a great plan :) And the BBQ sounds DELICIOUS!
We're heading to my parents house. They're doing the "March" birthdays (mom always celebrates everyone's birthday out there at least once a month). It's taco's for supper today so looks like I've gotta get a bowl out and keep it legal :) Even though the taco shells would be SOOO tasty I'm not even gonna eat one. I'll just eat the rest :) I got the 2 blankets finished for my nephews 2 kids. Set them up last night (got them pinned and ready for sewing) and then sewed them today. Oldest DD had solo ensemble (she was in a trio) and did pretty good. Not sure what the score is as we didn't stick around (as I had to sew the other blanket). So it's off I go (again). |
Forgot to mention my WI. It was tolerable. No loss and it's back to where I was when I was on the fat fast (153). But you know...I'll even take that. :) Didn't have time for measurements so maybe check them out on Monday. :)
