Did you know??? Im so ticked!!!!

 I just finished my 20min high intensity cardio on my trampoline....the last minute of my workout, one of the tabs attached to the springs let go!!!!!

I kept my receipt! I called sears...nope they wont take it back. Its past the 90 days, and since changing their policy in october (I bought it in september) they will NOT replace or refund it!

This is after talking to 4 different ppl. They wanted to send someone out to repair it. I asked her if he carried an industrial sewing maching with him???? Would it not be cheaper to replace it?????? Nope...that was my only option.

So.....Ive learned my lesson!

Isn't there some type of manufacture warrantee? I don't blame you, I'd be ticked as well!!

RobinW 01-19-2006 01:41 PM

no, I didnt keep the box or manual :( and I wasnt going to pay for an extended warranty on it...those things really tick me off.

Ive been trying to decide what to do for cardio now. I loved that thing! I would get an awesome workout with it!! Maybe I'll just go get another one :kickcan:

Tuuurtlemama 01-19-2006 02:09 PM

Awww Robin that sucks :( I can't believe they aren't willing to accomodate you at least a little bit! I heard those trampolines were great fun too

casperally 01-19-2006 03:04 PM

Go buy another one , and then return the old one in the new box. I've done this before, it works!

Tracy

Oh Tracy, you're so smart ;)

Randi, it is alot of fun, and I get my heart rate up, work up a sweat and feel really good. Its easy on my knees....dh and I were just discussing this a few minutes ago.

Sometimes it easier for them to say NO over the phone-they dont have to look you in the eye! I'd take it in tell them you've had it for a few months and want an exchange, its defective and dangerous.

tell them it was a christmas gift so no you dont have a recipt or anything for it but it broke not even a month later and its dangerous

and if that dont work take tracys suggestion... i've had to do this before with different things... buy a new one and then stick the broken one in the box and take it back

Perhaps this is a lesson in:
1. Keep the receipt.
2. Keep the manual.
3. Keep the manufacturer's warranty information.
and 4. If you're going to want whatever to last longer than the manufacturer's warranty goes for, then buy the extended warranty.

yes mom :p

thinthinker 01-22-2006 07:46 PM

Robin: Thanks for the "mom". I'll take that as a compliment. Perhaps what I said hit you wrong, but let me put it to you this way. How pi$$ed would you have been if YOU would have been the one who purchased the broken one after someone else returned it the way you're contemplating? Now that would make me SERIOUSLY mad, think you're buying something new, only to get home and find that someone was passing off a broken one as a new one in a new package.

Ms Spotdog 01-22-2006 10:31 PM

1. She said she HAS the receipt
2. I believe she had the manual
3 & 4. Manufacturers' warranty/extended warranty on a trampoline?

AND why in the world would she return the broken one without TELLING them it was broken?

RobinW 01-22-2006 11:03 PM

Thanks Kel :) ....I dont actually have the manual, but it was basically a poster sized sheet, telling you how to use it. Regardless, I still had the receipt!!

Anyway, thanks ladies for all your suggestions, and Kel you are very right in the fact that I would tell them that it was broken, so that wouldnt be an issue.

Im just going to let this thread die out, before feelings get hurt, and the support we are so proud of here is questioned.
