Yes, this will be my first baby, so I am hoping for any advice or words of wisdom. I am in the process of finding a new doctor, because mine is not helping at all!!!:tantrum: All she told me is that I am pregnant. That's all. Oh, and she handed me some pamphlets!! I don't even know when my next appointment should be or what my due date is or how far along I am!!! So, I'm a little frustrated.:stress: So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am still eating healthy and exercising. I'm not going to go crazy eating for two.:D

bnbsmommy1 01-31-2006 12:34 PM

don't worry, you'll get TONS of advice!!

Just try to ENJOY your pregnancy and the beautiful being that is growing inside of you :)

Here's what doctors use to determine the due date before an ultrasound is done:
http://www.mybirthcare.com/calculator.asp

If your doctor is not an OB doctor then ask friends in your area who they prefer...and go from there :) There is also the option of a midwife if you prefer a home birth :)

Lacey

sassybrat25 01-31-2006 08:37 PM

Thank you bnbsmommy1!! According to that website my due date is Oct. 9th. I'm so excited. So, is it ok to wait a couple of weeks before I go to the doctor again? We switched to my husband's insurance since I got laid off and we won't get cards for 10-15 days. Oh, and by the way I got a new job this morning. It's perfect!!! Pretty much the same pay, but absolutely perfect schedule & hours!!! I'm so excited. I start on Thursday.

beckamundo 01-31-2006 09:06 PM

Amber, Good luck w/it all!! I had my last 2 w/a midwife at a hospital. I loved them!! So much help and cared about me so much and being healthy. CONGRATS on the job!!

Tomorrow's Food

B: Special K LC cereal
L: Cheese brats or pepperoni
S: hmmmm, i don't know maybe some chicken & broccoli
W: at least 100ozs (got in 120 ozs today)
E: 15 minutes on the bike, 30 reverse stomach crunches (i tried to do he 20 minutes and just couldn't do it. after being off for a week it was hard to come back and up it)

Today was a good day, here's hoping Wednesday will be also.

SherryA 01-31-2006 09:14 PM

Normally when you first are pregnant, the doctor sees you once a month, so until you get close to goal, that is about what you should expect. It is usually once a week or every two weeks when you get close to due date.

sassybrat25 01-31-2006 09:17 PM

Thanks, SherryA! :)

iloveadam 02-01-2006 12:09 AM

yay! An autumn baby! How cute!!:D Being pregnant is so exciting! You will do great Amber, you seem to be on the right track~Congrats again to you and your hubby! oh and Congrats on the new job!! Woohoo! Looks like things are going really great 4 you! I'm happy for you :)

things seem to be going well for me, too:) I have been a good girl..hehe. Been trying new foods and keeping positive. I do believe that I can low carb it for life. It seems reasonable, especially the low carb foods on the market. They help!~tortillas~ So versatile! Here's what I had today:
B: Green chile sausage omelet..mmmm.
L: ham and cheese rolls
D: tacos! yum yum!

I worked out at curves and I danced here at home this evening because I love to dance! :carrot:

Ok, Good night & God Bless!!
~Becca

Morgaine 02-01-2006 09:49 AM

Well, my body seems to be getting back with the program. I finally broke through 169 this morning for the THIRD time since starting Atkins. My body just wanted to keep bouncing around between 169-172 and did so for two weeks. Hopefully I'm on the way down again.

No one has said they noticed my weight loss yet, but 11 pounds isn't really enough to notice, so that's ok. This morning *I* noticed though, when I was getting dressed for work. I wear hip-hugger sort of panties - Hanes for women, they just don't go all the way up to the waist. Anyway - for the first time ever - I don't have a pouch of fat hanging down over the waistband - woohoo!!!!! So - I seem to definitely be losing in the tummy/pooch area right now - that's nice.

bnbsmommy1 02-01-2006 09:54 AM

you guys are doing awesome!!!!

can't WAIT until I'm in the 169's!!!

l: eggs?
s: steak w/veggies

Nirvanagurl 02-02-2006 10:47 AM

I have been forgetting to check in, mon and tues I got alot of exercise, I was working on routines for my students ( belly dance class) for a performance we have comming up feb 17th and I had to do some of them over and over and over again..I really *worked it* the past few days..unfortantly I could of done better diet wise, I dont think I really went over with carbs that much, but my in general porportion size of things was a little much. My period started today though, so that could of been why I was a little big in Pig out mode.
I am a bit tired feeling so far today, but its cloudy and like I said..first day of cycle, and I have been super active the past 3 days so I may need a lazy day today:0

Snowbunny 02-02-2006 09:47 PM

Hi everyone
I m not really on a v-day challenge but i am hoping to get past phase one by v-day.
I have a question.
How do you all feel about Bacon.? (no not kevin bacon)
Do you avoid it because it is high in fat? Or does that matter to you?

:dizzy:

lady_adnerb 02-03-2006 09:12 AM

Kathy-- Kevin Bacon AND bacon I do not avoid  I don't eat it a lot though.

WTG everyone! Looks like everyone is doing AWESOME!! Keep up the great work!!

sassybrat25 02-03-2006 05:33 PM

:wave:Hi all!! Well, I have been doing pretty good. I haven't been eating too much junk. I do have the occasional treat though.:s: Got to give in every now and then. The pregnancy is going pretty well. I don't really have any morning sickness. My breasts are sore though and my lower back is killing me.:( I have been doing prenatal yoga though which really helps.:D I've still been going to Curves 3x a week too!! Hope everyone is doing well!!!

RobinW 02-06-2006 11:03 AM

Im back!! Im not going to make my weightloss goal for this challenge, but that doesnt mean I still shouldnt do my best.

I havent had a chance to read how everyone has done, I'll do that later today.

My plan for today...

Breaky~ protein/fibre shake
Lunch~ 1/2 can tuna and !/2 a cucumber
Supper~ broiled chicken and broccoli

Have a good one ladies!

Morgaine 02-07-2006 09:55 AM

I'm not going to meet my Valentine goal either. I assume we'll do some sort of other challenge right after???

RobinW 02-07-2006 10:24 AM

Did not too bad yesterday, messed up last night, but the day was a success  I'll take it....it usually takes me a couple days to get right back into the swing of things.

Today's plan

Breaky~ protein/fibre shake
Lunch~ :dunno:
Supper~ chicken and spinach salad

Morgaine~ I would assume another challenge will start up right after this one, if you want to start it up yourself, go ahead.

Has anyone thought about when they want the next challenge to end? Easter? St Paddy's day? or a 2/4 or 6 week challenge?

iloveadam 02-07-2006 10:45 PM

Hello!

Hello ladies:wave: I have doing pretty good this week...I'm down to 152:cheer: I'm so happy that I have finally gained control of my eating. Thank you all so much for the help along the way. I know that all your support, encouragement and advise have played a HUGE part in my success. Thank you!!! Here's what I ate today...breakfast has been the same for almost 2 wks~because I like it sooo much!

B: hamburger, mayo, cheese & onions
l: steak and veggies

bnbsmommy1 02-08-2006 10:24 PM

I took this idea from another board, what about having a St.Paddy's boot camp, and a cute little certificate of graduation if we hit our goal (to post in our siggy's of course!). Something to challenge each of us, push us to do our very best.....what do ya think?

Lacey

Supper~ taco salad

SherryA 02-11-2006 11:05 AM

Scale was at 249 this morning first weigh in. So maybe in a couple of hours I'll have it a little lower than that. I'm hoping. I'm a little bummed out, I thought I set such a modest goal for Vday challenge, but even this morning I'm still 4 pounds above that goal, with only 3 days left to lose it! Still I gave it the best try I could, so I'm not going to complain. I'm still 7 pounds farther along than when I set the goal, so that is PROGRESS! I made up my mind when I started this whole thing that I was going to celebrate EVERY success. And 7 pounds IS success. Even if it didn't happen as quickly as I wanted it IS happening and that is what counts.

Still I have high hopes that I'll be able to report a new lower number today. My graph looks good. I'm only a half pound away from being 20 pounds smaller than I was on December 12th. Hey, who can complain about that? (Yeah I know I still do, but I shouldn't)...

Update: It is 8 o'clock PM right now. And I'm down to 248. So 3 more pounds for the Valentine's goal. I can't see me losing 3 pounds in 3 days, but it won't be for lack of trying!

iloveadam 02-12-2006 10:01 PM

Hello ladies!

well, the goal date is getting closer:halffull: I am still at 151...*sigh* 3 lbs to go! I dunno if I can do it but if not...i will be ok!:D I have had great success these past 6 weeks so i feel like a winner anyway!:carrot: Here's what I ate today:

B: Ham roll & gum..hehe
S: shake
L: 2 chicken tacos
D: Hamburger patty w/ LTO

I exercised yesterday and skipped today....I work out M-Sat and take a break on Sun:)
God Bless you all!
~Becca

SherryA 02-13-2006 02:56 PM

247.5 today. Goal is 245. I doubt if I will make it by tomorrow. But we'll see when tomorrow comes.

Morgaine 02-13-2006 03:07 PM

I'm definitely not going to make it - but I think we can all agree I set a pretty unrealistic goal. I wish I had done better, though. I think I will keep my Valentine Vixen ticker on my signature until I hit it. Just as long as it doesn't take until Valentine's Day of 2007!!!

SherryA 02-13-2006 08:21 PM

Yes. Pretty unrealistic. I thought I set mine within range, but I guess it was wishful thinking. If I had continued to lose at the same pace I was doing in January, I would have made it, but things do slow down... Oh well. I can still keep on trying. 2.5 more pounds should come off within a week or two.

You did well though Morgaine... 11 pounds is not something to be unhappy about!

Morgaine 02-14-2006 08:43 AM

Thanks, Sherry. I'm pleased. I could have done better, but it's my own fault that I didn't. I've had several "off the wagon" days (usually they happen on the weekend) that have stalled my progress. The first time it happened - it took me 4 days to get back into ketosis and start losing again. ARG!

As of today - I've lost 11.5# on the Valentine Vixen challenge. I've removed that ticker and will join up with whatever challenge comes up next.

I'd be interested in a St. Patrick's Day one, since I'm Irish.

bnbsmommy1 02-14-2006 11:17 AM

I will go ahead and start a St.Paddy's challenge since there is some interest ;)

I missed my goal by 10 lbs. but won't make excuses, I did lose SOME and didn't gain so that's alright.

SherryA 02-14-2006 01:56 PM

Interesting, I went back and read my post when I first joined this challenge, on the 14th of January. I originally intended to lose 9 pounds for the challenge, and then increased it by 2 pounds because I wanted that nice round number (245). I still do. I still like round numbers. I shouldn't have increased it though. As it turns out I lost 8.5 pounds so I was only a half pound less than my original intentions.

So maybe 9 pounds for the St. Paddy's day challenge will be right about on target! (give or take a half a pound).

iloveadam 02-14-2006 11:18 PM

Yippie!

Here's my before:http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a82...asbefore-1.jpg

Here's my after:http://photobucket.com/albums/a82/Re...beccaafter.jpg

I lost 18 lbs and 18.5 inches total:carrot: Hooray!! Sorry...i'm not smiling in my after pic but I am really happy that I've lost this weight!:)

SherryA 02-15-2006 11:44 AM

Looks like you lost a lot of it around the butt, hips and thighs area. I can definitely tell your legs look smaller. Keep it up! You are doing great!

iloveadam 02-15-2006 12:49 PM

:woo: Thank you!! I am super excited about my success!
