I was throwing a cracked casserole dish away last night and it busted in my hand. Got some stitches in it and my hand's all wrapped up like a mummy LOL So it should be interesting to see how I'm gonna cut and sew but the good news is that Bethanie (my dd) has to do all the dishes for a couple of weeks :)

so it takes me forever to type forgive me for not doing personals. I will be sticking to this forum like glue though, I'm SO HUNGRY all the time lately. so inspire away:D

Wow Lacey, I'm so sorry to hear about your hand. Here's hoping that it heals quickly.

Hungry....eat more protein, like eggs, chicken and hamburger. Those usually fill me up pretty good.

Brenda~ Im so glad your getting back to it. I dont know why, but it seems to hit us emotionally really hard, then we sort of kick ourselves back into it. Looking back at what you did before is a great idea. It certainly helps figure out what we did before.

Dh and I hit the mall for our walk, I think that will be it for today. Im going to go lay down for a while.

Have a great op day

gonna_be_150 12-06-2005 02:32 PM

Lacey - sorry to hear about your hand. Nice way to get out of doing dishes tho ;).

Brenda - ya, I can go back to the online shopping, but shipping costs are unreal, and well, I'm just so spoiled now having the stuff local. Going to be hard to get used to not having it so readily available again. Sorry your DH got another ticket. How frustrating. My ex was good at the ticket thing too. It's really hard to stay focused when you're under so much stress - that's pretty much when all the weight I lost came back on. The timing has to be right for YOU to start again. I've been saying for the past year to get back on Atkins and even started induction again several times and after a day or 2, gave up again. It wasn't until last month that I finally decided to really go for it (when I couldn't fit into my "fat" pants anymore, well, that was just the final straw).

Bec - sounds like you're doing great! Saying prayers for those members of your family in the hospital.

Stacy - let me know if you decide to do the ugg, errr, I mean egg :D fast. I'll do it with ya.

I got a recipe for a LC pizza quiche and OMG it was SO good. Not having pizza is the one thing I hate most about LC'g and this recipe just took care of that. I LOVE pizza. Have to run now, but will post it in the recipes ASAP.

EarthyMama 12-07-2005 04:13 AM

Lacey, Sorry to hear about your hand. I cut my hand on a can of refried beans. It sliced into my finger really good. 2 Weeks later and its healed up pretty nice, but I remember the PITA it was!

DH goes to work tomorrow so I will definetly start writing and doing personals then :) Just been a hectic week!

Katie errr..I mean EM
:)

Mindy5936 12-07-2005 07:23 AM

Stacy and Brenda, I'm gald to see you're still here!

Becka, I'm sorry so many members of your family are sick, I'll pray for them.

Lacey, All I can say is ouch, ouch, ouch.

Iloveadam, You have amazing self control staying away from the scale, half the time getting to the scale and finding out how I did is the first thought in my head each morning.

I'm down three pounds since last week so that has really boasted my dedication this week. I really focused on getting my water the last couple of days and I think it helped.

lady_adnerb 12-07-2005 08:13 AM

Lacey: Sorry to hear about your hand! I TOTALLY understand about loving it when someone else does the dishes  Are you drinking enough water? Eating enough protein? The water was my reason for getting hungry (I think).

Robin: How's your back? Did the walk help straighten the kinks out?

Stacie: I can't wait to check out the pizza quiche. I miss the pizza sauce and melted cheese combo

EM:  How's it going? Glad to hear YOUR hand healed up :)

Mindy: CONGRATS on the 3 pound loss! That is AWESOME!!

Well, I didn't step on the scale to get a reality check. With TOM here I figured it didn't pay. The cramps are unreal so figured the bloating would knock the scale where I wouldn't want to see it. Did ok eating wise last night except the peanuts (made a wrong choice. Should have had the cheese and sausage stick. Oh well!) but the water intake is still off. Found out dad has to have surgery (for sure) on Friday so I'll be eating hospital food (LOVE their salads but the dressing is not LC...but I'll accept it) and drinking WAY too much caffeine (and not enough water). TOO much to do every day and I'm not sure when I'll get to "truly" exercise. Supposed to freeze my tush and feed the deer today (-14 w/the windchill figured in). All that heavy clothing is GREAT for a workout but w/these cramps all I want to do is lay down and sleep!! No rest for though as DD's have an early dismissal from school so have to get it done before they get home. Then youngest DD has a dentist appointment. Run, Run, Run. Seems that's all I ever do. Tomorrow through Saturday isn't any different!! ARGH!!!

RobinW 12-07-2005 08:44 AM

Good Morning :sunny:

Brenda~ sounds like a very busy week.....get your water in, have you tried the straw trick yet?

Mindy~ WTG on the 3lbs!! :bravo: :cb:

Stacy~ have you posted that pizza quiche recipe yet? Im waiting patiently

My back is a bit better, I think tom is just around the corner, 2 weeks early :dizzy: I was feeling pretty crappy yesterday, cramps, bloated, even dh thought I looked like crap  Im feeling a bit better today tho. Dh and I got our walk in at the mall, today I'll venture outside for my walk.

Eating is good, made a corned beef yesterday for the 1st time ever...and OMG was it salty!!!! I think boiling it next time will be in order. Mind you it was delicious

Thats about it in my little corner of the world....have a great op day ladies

Tennessee 12-07-2005 08:44 AM

Geez Brenda, you'd think that as busy as you are you'd be droppin' weight by the bucketfull. Heck, just trying to stay warm when you go out to feed the deer should burn off the salad dressing LOL. I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I hope that things go well, and I'll keep him in my prayers.

Iloveadamn, you have iron will girl! I can stay away from chocolate more easily than I can stay away from the scale.

OW Lacey, that had to hurt! When will you get your stitches out? I'd enjoy the lack of dishwashing, nice to have at least one little perk if you have to be on injured reserve.

Bec- when it rains it pours :( Hang in there, and let us know how things are going.

I got a little behind on my water, so I'm determined to get back with it. One 20 oz. bottle down, 2 more to go!

gonna_be_150 12-07-2005 09:47 AM

Morning all, I posted the Deep Dish Pizza Quiche recipe in Misc. in the recipes section. Can't do personal's at the moment as I have to get Alex ready for school and even tho she's on my lap, the baby I watch is screaming her bleedin' face off. UGH. CAAAAAALGOOOOOON take me awayyyyyy :D.

iloveadam 12-07-2005 12:10 PM

Happy Wednesday!

:flow2: I am so happy to be apart of this forum:D I got weighed today(my choice) And much to my surprise, I lost 3 lbs:bike: I'm so happy and encouraged. I could not fall asleep last night...I was tossing and turning until 2 am! *argh* so I was very tired when I awoke this morn. But we had some snow on the ground:cp: Where is the food accountablilty thread?:?: Good luck ladies((hugs)) Love~Becca

beckamundo 12-07-2005 01:31 PM

Hey all, yes I'm posting late today, but went shopping w/dh today and finished the Christmas shopping. So know I just have to finish the ones that I am making and then we will really be good to go. I did good yesterday, today is gonna be the hard one because we have a potluck tonight and I just hate not knowing what is gonna be there. I'm doing good w/the water also. Exercise was right on yesterday and I'm planning on a mile on the bike when I get home tonight.

Lacey~Sorry about the hand! Take care of yourself!

Robin~Glad to hear you out there exercising, YOU go GIRL!! Glad to hear the cornbeef turned out for you. I love cornbeef and hash so I'm guessing I would like the other. I may have to try that. Hope TOM gets here and gets over for you soon.

Stacie~I can't wait to look up at recipe and give it a try. Pizza is one of the things I do miss. I do try and 'treat' myself to it once in awhile. Right now though I'm hoping that I won't be treating myself to it until after the new year.

Mindy~KUDOS on the loss!! I think water helps to and it is easy to do which is why I try so hard to get it all in.

Brenda~HUGS!!! You have such a busy week, then to add TOM of to it. It doesn't help any. Maybe the moving around will help you out. I have heard it before, I'm sure it was from a male dr. who has never had a cramp in his life let alone TOM. Remember to get the water in hon, that will help you!

Tenn~Drink, Drink, Drink!! :) The saying from my college days, except it wasn't water we were drinking though, but the principal is the same.

Becca~KUDOS on the loss!! That is just great! Keep up the awesome job.

To all of you that have expressed concern for my family members in the hospital, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Things are going well for both my aunts, but my adoptive grandfather is slowly passing away which is a good thing considering the amount of pain he is in, but it is hard around the holidays and I'm just very concerned about my brother who is closer to his grandpa than his own father. So there are issues w/all this, but I know that God will take care of us and lead us through this also. THANKS again for all the concern!

Have a great & OP day!

lady_adnerb 12-07-2005 02:03 PM

Robin: Glad to hear your back is slowly getting back to normal. Hopefully TOM doesn't make it THAT much worse (I suffered the "TOM backache" last night. ARGH they're the pits!)! No,I haven't tried the water trick yet. First I have to actually GET a glass of water

Tenn: You're still ahead of me on the water intake! Great going on working on getting that in!!

Stacie: Hope the baby gives you a break soon and quits screaming. I remember how nerve racking that was!!

Becca: WTG on the 3 pound loss! That is awesome and keep up the great work!!

Bec: Glad to hear your family members are doing well. Sorry to hear about your adoptive Grandpa. I hope and pray your brother is ok through this. Thoughts and prayers for your family!

Well, still no water intake in sight. I DID buy some Diet Lipton Green Tea. I can choke that down usually. Not sure I could get 64 OZ of water in between now and the end of the day even if I tried. But I'll do my best to at least drink HALF that much today  I could use a nap! lol.

Thanks all for the prayers. They're greatly appreciated!!

Mine too. I even weigh myself when I get up during the night to tinkle :o . I'm addicted to the blasted thing .

Bec - this (2 me anyway) tasted darn near like the real thing. The egg mixture doesn't really give it that quichey texture or taste, it actually makes somewhat of a base/crust, albeit a very soft one. Have fun at your potluck!

Thanks Brenda - I can't even begin to tell you how relieved I am when mom picks her up at 8:30 and how badly my stomach goes back into knots around 2:15 when she's due to arrive back. I swear the only thing keeping me from guzzling a few shots before her arrival each day (am included LOL) is induction ;). The mom's parents are coming in from out of town for Christmas, so she's not going to be here a lot thru the month. Thank goodness! G'luck with the iced tea. It's hard to get so much water down everyday. Keeping your dad in my prayers. Sounds like you've got a LOT on your plate right now. I'm a caffeine freak and I know I drink way too much, but when it's this cold (as you know) it's a necessity!! I always have 1 day just prior to TOM actually arriving where all I want to do is sleep. Hope you get a nap in & soon!!

Rebecca & Mindy - WTG on your loss's. 3 lbs each... that's AWESOME! :carrot:

Robin - glad your back is better!! I'm clueless here - but what's a Corned beef? Is it just the corned beef itself you made or was it a recipe? I make my moms hash (canned corned beef, mashed taters, cabbage, onions, hp sauce) - that's about the only way I can eat it.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I had 2 slices of the pizza for lunch and it was good. I prefer it when it's fresh, but it's lasted 4 days so that's pretty good. Means less cookin' for me . Apparently it freezes well, will have to try next time I make it.

Water, water, water!!!!!!!!!!!!

RobinW 12-07-2005 04:27 PM

Corned Beef - Salt boiled beef. The small crystals or "corns" of coarse salt used in the pickling, give it it's name
It sits in a salty brine, until you cook it. So this explains why it was soooooo salty!!! It was good, but I'll boil it next time instead, and change the water 1/2 way thru. I'm glad you asked, because I didnt know how they did it either.

beckamundo 12-08-2005 07:29 AM

Ok, we are gonna try this for the 3rd time!

Morning to All!!
I have tried putting in my entry 2 times before and for some reason I have lost it each time. I did ok at the potluck last night. I had about 10 of my meatballs, a big helping of saurkrat & sausage, scoop of squash, a small scoop of my pasta salad, 1 smoked mini hot dog, 1 chicken wing, a scoop of enchilada casserole and a SMALL piece of pecan pie. I did get in 100 ozs. of water for yesterday and 1 mile on the bike. I was surprised to get on the scale this am and there was no gain. I am also a chronic weigher. I need to change that though because there are those days that it just ruins the whole day. Once or twice a week is good...maybe. :)

Brenda~I have some of that Lipton Green Tea in my fridge only it isn't the lite kind...my m-i-l got it for me because we can't find it around here and she got the regular stuff. I'm actually going to put just a little in my water to flavor it some but not a lot because the regular w/the citrus flavor has 21 carbs in it. WOW! Man I was drinking those like crazy over Thanksgiving weekend thinking those were the lite kind like I had asked her to get and imagine my surprise a week later to find out that it has a BUNCH of carbs.

Stacie~Thanks for the info on the pizza and I will be trying that soon!

Well chickies, have a great & OP day!
