well, instead of eating AGAIN, I've come here to yack :)

It's severly cold here. Do you all find that when the weather cools down, you just want to eat a whole lot more? During a normal winter, I turn the oven on and cook bake and eat all winter. So this is quite a transition for me and I need to find something to do to stay warm other than cook.

Our house is extremely old and SUCKS in the winter time. All of the rooms are closed off and we have to leave the door open to the laundry room and bathroom so the pipes don't freeze and bust. Anyone else in this redneck living position? I guess I'm aggrivated for being 30 years old and still living in such a shoddy house and not some big central heat and air house like everyone else that I know.

oh, I just watched the biggest loser and this guy lost twenty some pounds in a WEEK. I'm not certain how that is physically possible but you can bet that I'm gonna google his name to see what it was he did.

I ate so much today I'm not sure I can remember it all

RobinW 11-15-2005 09:48 PM

We have an old house too, Id just rather have electric heating so I can turn rooms off and on as needed. Rather than heating a huge house for just us!

Im wondering.......can I count the flights of stairs Ive climbed today to go "p" as aerobics????? :lol3: I hate stairs!

bnbsmommy1 11-16-2005 07:55 AM

the girls and I drug out some mattress' and slept on the living room floor. We had a little slumber party and watched madagascar. It was nice and cozy and we all stayed warm. DH isn't home to watch them while I walk so I'll try to get some walking in when it warms up a little.

Yesterday I ate like a hog, 2 celery and peanut butters, 2 yogurts, 2 cheese sticks and a lot of other things I can't remember....so I'm holding off on weighing myself for a day or two because each time I do this the scales creep back up. I seriously feel like I"m sabatoging myself. :(

gonna clean house, do laundry, try to stay moving so I can stay warm. Hope everyone has a splendid day!

Lacey

Robin: sorry to hear about the mess w/the hat. I wouldn't even know how to fix it. Good luck fixing it!! And of COURSE you can count the stairs. I consider it exercise ;)

Lacey: I LOVE old houses (big ol' farm housees!) but you're right, I can't imagine heating them! Sounds like you had fun with the slumber party :)

Ok, it snowed last night, it's only 30ish degrees and I have to go feed the deer!!!! Tromping through the woods in the freezing cold is NOT my idea of fun! I like it better when it's just a little cool out (then no bugs). So I brought my snow pants in so they'd warm up. ARGH!! Eating has been going well, water stinks (still can't get that last 16 oz in!), and the weight stayed the same. I consider THAT a success :cb:

RobinW 11-16-2005 09:15 AM

Good Morning :bubbles:

Lacey~ that sounds like a fun time with your girls! Dd went to see madagascar with her little friends, so I missed out on that one. Looks cute! Do you keep track of your food on fitday? It will help alot in letting you know if you've over done it......and its free!

Brenda~ is the snow still on the ground?? I love the first snowfall, and walking thru it!! I love the smell of it :D Have fun!

Im doing good, eating is on target, and I keeping below 20 carbs without counting fibre (its what I did 4 yrs ago and it worked) so here's hoping :crossed: I'll get on the scale tomorrow, just to make sure things are moving in the right direction.

My only pair of jeans (that fit...sorta) are now garbage. I took them out of the dryer last night, and there is a huge tear in the leg!! Not one of them cool tears either.....its a "dont wear in public" tear! So Im down to my ugly elastic waisted pants until my 16's fit, or my dress pants. I refuse to go buy jeans to get me thru, because then I have another pair of 18's to fall back on....I dont want to fall back again.

Dh is heading out to a job site today, so Im alone. I didnt get the hat fixed yesterday, or the xmas cards started last night, so I think I'll do that. Plus we bought some of that widow insulation plastic to help with the drafts....so thats on the to-do list too. Its blowing, raining and really cold, so not a go outside day today. They are calling for snow tomorrow.

Anyway....have a great day ladies!

You may not like tromping through the woods in the freezing cold, but think of all the extra calories you're burning to stay warm! I hope you'll post some pictures of your place sometime (can you do that here?), I'd love to see the deer :)

Snow? WOW! If we get any, it's not usually till January, and then it's just a dusting. Seems like if it's going to be cold, at least it could snow so it looks pretty instead of gray, brown and blah.

I'm sorry about the jeans, but man would I like to be able to squeeze my fatness into an 18!

I'm so excited this morning because I put on a pair of size 20 slacks and they FIT!!! Good-bye 22's (which were getting tight when I started), hello 20's, and scale be damned!!! WOOO HOOO, yeah me!!!

RobinW 11-16-2005 09:47 AM

Great job Tenn!! :cb: it wont be long before your into 18's

beckamundo 11-16-2005 11:06 AM

Morning all....late post for me.

I'm struggling food wise. I'm not eating a lot, but making really bad decisions. It's because life is so crazy right now and it's just easier to grab the 'crap' than the right things. I have rode the bike 2 this week a mile each time and have done 20 reverse stomach curls each morning. So that is a start. I'm hoping to get some alone time this afternoon so I can crank up the stereo and dance around. I didn't weigh in today, I will weigh in on Friday......but this weekend will blow it because I will be at the MSU/Penn State game & tailgating on Saturday drinking my 'sorrows' LOL away and eating like I've never eatten before. I am gonna make a veggie tray....maybe even a sausage and cheese tray because that would be good for me. Hmmmmmmm...I know drink wise it will be 7/7's because they are low carb and I don't drink beer. Well chickies and a great & OP day!!

bnbsmommy1 11-16-2005 02:15 PM

Tenn: Don't ya LOVE that feeling!!! Way to go getting into some smaller jeans!!

Robin: Way to go for staying with the program..I'm JUST like you regarding the pant sizes. At my last garage sale my mom told me I should keep all my old sizes 'just in case'. I told her, "no way, I never want to see this size in my home again!". I don't want 'fat pants' to fall back on either!

Beck: the meat/cheese tray sounds awesome. And Mikes makes a low carb beer too, have you seen those? I looked EVERYWHERE for some, and finally I found a liquor store owner lady who ordered some for me :D

My mom watched my 3 year old today while I walked 3 miles :) It's weird walking in the afternoon, everyone asks if I need a ride.

What part of:
tank top-sweats-jogging shoes-sweater around waist & holding a walkman says "I NEED A RIDE". I guess I should be glad that people are so nice.

Also, I figured out why I wanted to eat like a hog so bad yesterday, I woke up this morning to my monthly friend. I never know when it will visit so now the starving feeling yesterday makes sense.

anyway, I've got a taco salad waiting for me so I'll check you guys later!

Good Morning :snow4:

We got our first snowfall last night! :cb: I love the first snow fall!! We didnt get nearly as much as the southtowns did. They have LOTS of closings this morning and roads totally impassable.

I got dh's hats fixed. They look pretty good if I do say so myself  He paid enough for them! cripes!! Oh well, its done, and he's happy. Got 2 of my windows insultated, and the stuff stayed up over night!!!!!!! The last stuff I bought, it was half down in the morning. So....I'll go get somemore! Do somemore windows.

Sticking to induction has worked for me. Im down 6lbs since Monday morning.....but thats with all my woolies on!! It was way too cold to weigh in nekkid this morning :lol3:

Im not sure what we are up to today...dh is home so it will be coffee at starbucks, then probably a walk in the mall. Then I dont know what else.

Have a great day everyone!

lady_adnerb 11-17-2005 09:15 AM

Robin: You'll fit into your jeans before you know it! And yes, the snow is still here...along with the freezing cold! I hear you on not wanting to WI naked. I turned the heat up long enough to do that  WTG on the weight loss!! See, it'll happen and probably sooner than you expect!!

Tenn: :cb: Congrats on the smaller sized jeans!! Keep up the great work! And we don't have deer here in our yard...we lease land to hunt on. I'd LOVe to be able to get pictures of them. And I don't know if you want pictures of when we DO get them  But if I (or DD) get a buck I'll be posting it. And tromping through the woods w/all that winter gear WAS work...and the scale said so also :cb:

Bec: Sounds like you've got the right plan for eating! So count THAT as a success! baby steps through all this!! Have fun at the game!!

Lacey: It's so sweet that people kept offering you rides. They sure wouldn't do that around here! And I don't like walking here by myself. Too many wooded areas and I'm discovering I'm not a very trusting person!

Well, official WI was yesterday and the scale hadn't gone down. Did a "let's see cuz I feel different" WI today and I was down 2 pounds!! But I'm not changing that ticker yet...waiting for the official WI next week. So hopefully I can stay OP this weekend and can change it! More running around today but waiting for the stores to open. And hoping that the sunshine will melt the ice from the roads....but like THAT'll happen at -4 degrees!!!! And once again still tired!!! ARGH!!!

Just kidding, I like a good venison steak, and would LOVE to get some deer fat to render for a facial bar. Weird as it sounds, a combination of deer fat, lard, goat's milk and lavender makes a facial soap that's just out of this world!

GOOD NEW GIRLS!!!!
I am so excited, I can't stand myself. I can't believe it. I need to change my siggy. According to the scale at my Dr. office, I've lost 17 pounds in the four weeks since I was there last. So instead of 17 more to get to my first goal, I only have 13. :carrot: :carrot: (I needed two dancing carrots for that!!) She wasn't negative about Atkins, only suggested that I vary the fat content of the meat I'm eating, focusing on more lean meats, seafood and fish than on more fatty choices. She also stressed that I MUST drink at least 64 oz. of water to keep things flushed out. She said that not drinking enough water when I'm on this diet can really be detrimental to my kidneys and liver. Interestingly, she told me not to over do it on water, as more than 64 oz. doesn't have a proven benefit, and can actually be harmful because it can throw things out of balance.

So the news from East Tennessee is excellent this morning. I'm freezing, btw, the Canadians can take their weather back now!

Stacy

RobinW 11-17-2005 12:37 PM

Wow Great News Tenn!!! :cb: :cb: Congratulations!! WTG!

lady_adnerb 11-17-2005 03:47 PM

Stacy: WTG on the WI :cb: I'm SO excited for you!! And thanks for the reminder of the water issue. I'm trying but it's just not going in. Well, not as fast as it goes out anyway  And We don't keep the fat of the deer. I never knew about the face thing though :)

Robin: I'm not sure drinking through a straw would work...but I'll give it a shot!!

 Well, I walked through part of the mall. I HATE shopping! I hate the rude people. I hate the lines. I don't have patience for it!! ok. Done ranting.

RobinW 11-17-2005 04:19 PM

We just back from the mall....it wasnt bad, and dh and I got a good walk in. Steve and Barry's has everything on sale for $4.99!!! I'll be going back after supper without dh

I have to tell you about this woman that was infront of the LeGourmet Chef store, getting ppl to stop and test her chocolate samples. Dh and I were sitting on the bench watching her. She was amazing, dragging ppl over to sample, and one guy that you would never expect to actually go into the store ...went!!!! :lol3: She was having a great time, and so were the ppl she was dragging over. Well she seen us watching her, and laughing with her.......didnt she bring over 3 chocolate covered marshmallows for dh and I!!!!!!! I got Dh to eat mine quick so it looked like I ate them when she turned around  He sacrafices for me  But I didnt eat them :cb: Marshmallows are my enemy....I will sit and eat 1/2 a bag in one sitting.....just for the sugar rush. So I was quite proud....so was dh :)
