Damn I want some sweets!

  • My sister brought home my favorite food cheesecake! I wanted it SO bad but I couldn't because it has a lot of carbs per serving. I looked all around in the stores for low carb cheese cake and found nothing. I was so upset.
  • Low carb cheesecake is actually not that hard to make and there are about abizillion recipes for it. Do you need some? It is one dessert that is actually very good done low carb. The other is pumpkin pie (or something similiar) although this tends to be alittle higher in carbs and if you are in Atkins induction it wouldn't be on your menu.

    I have other suggestions for your sweet tooth. My favorite thing is spiced nuts. I have several of these recipes also if you are interested.

  • Of course any recipies or low carb sweet foods in general will be nice. Thanks for the help. I am not on atkins, just eating 20 carbs and under a day and trying to keep that as healthy as possible most of the time.
  • I saw some sugar free pudding that was cheesecake flavored.

    but it had aspartame so I didn't buy it I'll definitely be checking out the recipe section as well, I need to get started on the dishes I'll be making for Thanksgiving dinner.
  • How long have you been 20 carbs or less? I found that during the first week or so of induction, I had major sugar withdrawls and craved sweets soooooo badly, it was really a struggle. I read in the FAQ section here that when you crave sweets it helps to eat something w/fat, like bacon or cheese, and it helped, but I still needed will-power. I didn't want to actually eat something sweet because I'm trying to break the sugar cycle in my life, so even if it's "legal" it wouldn't work for my goals. After two weeks I didn't CRAVE sugary stuff anymore, although I think it will always be a huge temptation.

    LOL, um yeah I've been on the diet for a week! lol. I know I know, you guys have been on forever and here I am complaining about one single week. Hopefully it will pass but I love cheesecake and have been wanting for so long! lol. I would make the low carb one, the only problem is I wanted to buy a single slice of it that they sell in freezer aisles of stores. I know if I made a whole cheesecake myself...I would eat a lot more than a little slice being that I am a emotional binge eater. So it's kind of like once you eat you can't stop when it comes to junk food. But anyway, I hope I can just get past it or maybe just have some low carb yogurt to substitue for it..something sweet low on carbs. Anyone know how many carbs are in those miniature philidelphia cheesecake bars?

  • I've not tried any of the cheesecake recipes....but I can vouch for the pumpkin bars. Also, if you buy heavy cream and whip it up and add a smidge of SF chocolate pudding (or other flavor to taste) you have something chocolate, LC in minutes. THAT is yummy also!!

    Pumpkin Squares

    1/2 cup Carbsense Baking Mix
    1/2 cup ground walnuts
    3/4 cup Splenda
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 stick butter
    1 egg
    2 tablespoons heavy cream
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    1/3 cup canned pumpkin

    Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add softened butter and stir. Then, add remaining ingredients and blend gently. Spoon cookie dough into a greased 9-inch baking pan and bake in pre-heated oven at 325 F for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow cooling for 5 minutes before eating.

    Yield: About 16 pumpkin squares

    Net Carbs: About 3 grams per square
