Good Morning Ladies,

Soo ??? how was your weekend ?? did you stay OP?

beckamundo 09-19-2005 09:24 AM

I did pretty good. Down 2lbs!! Talk to you on Friday when I get back from Gatlinburg TN!!

RobinW 09-19-2005 09:27 AM

Leenie~ could you move todays responses from last weeks thread over to here? Pls?

lady_adnerb 09-19-2005 12:14 PM

 I was so tired (still am) for some reason I didn't realise I posted on last weeks topic instead of making one for this week. Well, back to being OP for me! I think I'll go throw a roast in the oven. :)

PastaLover 09-19-2005 07:52 PM

New week

hey its a whole new week, time to get serious. I just had a yummy salad from quiznos, they are the BEST! :D
I hope everyone has a great monday!

lady_adnerb 09-20-2005 08:04 AM

PastaLover: You're absolutely right...it's time to get serious :)

Yesterday eating was good and was 16 oz shy (I think) of getting my water intake in. This weekend (Saturday) we're going to a Civil War reenactment so eating will stink. No such thing as low carb there but at least I'll be good for the week and I'll make sure to get right back on track on Sunday. I need to buy some LC wraps---it'll cut down on carb counts for my sandwiches!!

RobinW 09-20-2005 10:10 AM

Morning :coffee:

Im still groggy...I had a horrible night sleep last night. If I wasnt dreaming, I was tossing, if I wasnt tossing, it was thundering like mad outside. Very strange night ! :dizzy:

Did my cardio yesterday, then made 2 batches of healthy muffins and 2 different batches of soup. It didnt take long, but I was certainly tired from standing in the kitchen all that time.

Not much planned so far today, I'll do my workout, then maybe venture outside. I didnt get outside at all yesterday, besides to the back deck.

My goal this week, is to start to learn how to use the metro transit system here. We are a one vehicle family and I am refusing to get stuck in the house again this winter. So, if I can learn how to use the metro, I'll be mobile just fine to get to where I want to go, and spend a day exploring. So maybe a walk to the subway station, and check out the maps and what not.

Have a great day!!

SkinnyAgainSoon 09-20-2005 11:24 AM

Hello all! I've been MIA for a few months now... lots of travelling this summer and very busy with the kids. But now the travelling is done and the kiddies just started preschool. Hooray! I've lost 16 pounds on Atkins so far (earlier this summer) and still need to lose 17 more. But I've just kinda stalled out and lost motivation. I need some inspiration! Please help!!

-Sarah

RobinW 09-20-2005 11:54 AM

Welcome back Sarah!! Sounds like you had a nice summer. Congrats on the 16lbs gone so far, the last 17 should be a piece of cake eh?! You'll do it!!

lady_adnerb 09-21-2005 07:05 AM

Robin: Did you figure out the metro system? It sounds confusing to me! Hope you become mobile :)

Sarah: Welcome back and here's where your motivation is: You don't want to gain ALL that you've lost back do you? That should be enough to make you at least want to maintain. Then look at it this way: What other "diet" lets you eat like you had/have been and lose weight. Yup, you stalled (as had I) and got discouraged (as had I) but you STILL lost a lot of weight. They always say the last of it comes off harder. This is also a pep talk to myself. WE CAN DO THIS!!

Well, lost 2 pounds!! I KNOW where it went....down the toilet  Got my water intake in yesterday. lol Odd cuz I even had about 3 apples cut up and I still managed to lose. But hey, not complaining!! :cb:

RobinW 09-21-2005 08:51 AM

Morning :)

You know what Brenda? I was coming home from the market yesterday, and there at the bus stop were 4 police men physically removing a fella from the bus. So....Im back to the thinking about it stage  Even hubby had a chuckle about it....this small town northern canadian girl doesnt deal well with alot of stuff here. But Im trying....but like I said, Im back to the thinking about it stage.

Im off to do my workout before our delivery gets here. I'll check back later.

Congrats on your 2 lbs Brenda :cb: :cb:

SkinnyAgainSoon 09-21-2005 11:17 AM

Thanks for the pep talk ladies. You're right Brenda - I definately DON'T want to gain that weight back! In fact, I had better start losing the rest of this soon because winter seems to be fast approaching and I can't fit into any of my jeans/pants. They're all way too small! And unfortunately shopping for new stuff isn't an option right now.

Robin - I'm with you! After seeing police remove some guy from the bus, I'd be a little leary about public transport too!

Brenda - EXCELLENT JOB on the 2 pound loss! Keep it up!

Hi-ho, hi-ho, off to drink my water I go!

lady_adnerb 09-21-2005 12:29 PM

Robin: oh my! I think that'd make me (another small town girl) turn and run the other way and NOT think about it. You're braver than I am!!!

SAS: I know what you mean about the tight jeans! Luckily mine are the stretch kind or I'd not even get into them at all!

Well, I'm halfway to getting all my water in. And lunch is done. Wasn't hungry but forced myself to eat anyway. Need to find alternatives to LC bread though. Even if I just roll the sandwich meat up and stick a slice of cheese in it  Going to get my parents from the airport tomorrow. They're coming back from Vegas. Then on Saturday Mom and my DD's and I are going to the Wade House so eating's going to stink that day but it's ok. I realise I'm going to have days I can't eat LC but just need to jump back on ASAP. THAT is my main problem (well, that and the water intake--but I think I got that in order). Hope you all have a great day :)

RobinW 09-21-2005 01:03 PM

I did my workout, and got a walk in. Alright, well now Im tired  Im off to shower and plan the rest of my afternoon.

Brenda~ I went to walmart, and picked up one of those honkin' huge thermos jugs. Holds 64oz. That way when Im done that (hopefully by mid day) I know Ive got my water in, and I'll drink my iced green tea for the rest of the day. Pretty good incentive for me.

SAS~ I really hate it when my biggest jeans are too tight too!! I dont wear the stretch ones tho, I hate the way the curve and accent all my rolls  But you're off to a good start....wont be long, they will be baggin in butt!!

Have a great day ladies

lady_adnerb 09-22-2005 07:06 AM

Robin:  I've got one of those great big mugs but thought it was only 54 oz!! It works in getting the water in and knowing how much we've drank, eh??

Well, eating stunk last night. I've got a cold and it's really draining my energy. Last night I didn't even argue w/DH when he suggested subway. My head's in a fog and aches, my nose can't decide if it wants to be stuffy or run, my throat is sore and my eyes are runny. To top it off..instead of being able to stay home today I've got to drive to go get my parents from the airport!!! Yup, feeling sorry for myself  I'm so blasted tired. The way I'm feeling right now I'm hoping it rains this weekend so I don't have to go to the Wade house! Well, back to being OP today!! Maybe when the kids are off to school I'll be able to lay down for a little while before I have to go get the parents.
Hope everyone has a good day!

RobinW 09-22-2005 08:05 AM

Good Morning

Brenda~ I hope your feeling better soon. Get some rest.

I dont know why, but I was up at 630 this morning, and couldnt go back to sleep :dizzy: So now Im sitting here yawning  oh well.

Not much planned other than cooking up some of the zucchini the neighbour gave us yesterday. I have 4 of them!!! So, I guess a batch of zucchini muffins, and a zucchini loaf are in order. I think I'll get dh to bbq a sliced zuke with supper ....sounds good :)

I'll be keeping my workout to a minimum today, just a walk I think.

Nothing too exciting around here today.....hope you all have a great op day :sunny:

RobinW 09-22-2005 12:46 PM

Hmmmmm I just took out 2 chocolate zucchini loaves from the oven. I was trying to use up the zucchini. It sure smells good! :T So........

I Promise

To not eat any of it until Ive entered all the ingredients into fitday.

I Promise

To completely chill it in the fridge and then cut the entire 2 loaves into serving sizes, and eat NO MORE than that serving size.

Check up on me tomorrow, and see if I kept my promise to myself :dizzy:

SkinnyAgainSoon 09-22-2005 01:35 PM

Good morning!

Robin - I LOVE chocolate zucchini bread! If it were in my house I wouldn't have the will power not to eat the whole loaf! It sounds like you've got it under control though. Good for you!

Brenda - Being sick and trying to stay OP is sooooo hard for me. When I'm sick I just want comfort foods which normaly don't include salads with grilled chicken, but more like a giant vat of warm cinimon-y rice pudding. Are you feeling better yet? You know, drinking all that water should help your sinuses drain!

Well, I'm off to fold the laundry and clean the kitchen now. Maybe I can even squeeze in a little exercise before I pick up the kiddies from preschool!

-Sarah

lady_adnerb 09-23-2005 08:14 AM

Friday

Robin: Thanks for the reminder of the zucchini! I have one in the garage someone gave me and I didn't know what to do with it. Maybe I'll fry some up and see how that tastes. Did you follow through on your promise?

Sarah: I don't know about you but I consider house cleaning exercise  Well, for me it's an exercise in futility :lol3:

Feeling a little better but now I'm tired. Mainly because DH shot a deer w/his bow last night so between trailing it (exercise) and then lifting it onto the truck (exercise) and then hoisting it up to hang (exercise) and then trying to find stuff to help me get unstuffed (ever try and exercise decently when your nose is stuffy/runny? lol) for the night...it was midnight. So after last DD is off to school I'm going back to bed. Need some more zzz's. Then it's off to the store for some shopping (essentials like kleenex, cold meds and toilet paper). Tomorrow (if there's no rain) then it's TONS of walking around the Wade House (Civil War Reenactment). It's an awesome place!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Leenie 09-23-2005 09:20 AM

 and HUGS !!!

RobinW 09-23-2005 10:08 AM

Morning....yes I did Brenda. I only ate 1/2 a portion, and it worked out to 55 calories, and 11 carbs. So not too shabby. :)

Dh took me to applebees last night, and I was good there too. Had the Santa Fe chicken salad minus the sour cream. Mind you when I came home and imput everything into fitday, the salad was approx. 600 calories!! Good thing I was already low yesterday. Have my cardio already done, and dh and I are off to starbucks for our coffee.

We have sign making to do today, and probably tomorrow as well, so not much else planned. I like having him home during the day....makes it much more enjoyable :D

Thats about it for now, I'll check back later.

SkinnyAgainSoon 09-23-2005 02:20 PM

Ugh. Not feeling too good. Think I'm catching hubby's cold. Hard to stay OP with a cold, but I'll do my best. Although I would really love a bowl of hot clam chowder. I think I'll fry up some deli turkey meat instead and melt some swiss cheese on it. That's pretty tastey.

Robin - good job staying OP with the zucchini bread and Applebee's! I love the Santa Fe Chicken Salad... One of my favorites. What kind of coffee do you get at Starbucks? I REALLY miss my Starbucks, but I always get the white chocolate mocha with whipped cream and I just don't think that's gonna work with Atkins! ;) I only like the real sweet foo-foo coffee drinks. If my coffee tastes like coffee, I don't like it!

Brenda - WOW! Sounds like you got quite a workout with your husband's deer! And even more on the way with the Wade House. Sounds like you'll have a fun weekend, but I hope you're feeling better for it. Just remember to take your Kleenex with you!

Have a nice weekend ladies!

-Sarah

RobinW 09-23-2005 02:36 PM

just the french roast...it was their coffee of the day. I did have them put a shot of sugar free vanilla in it tho :T

lady_adnerb 09-24-2005 07:35 AM

Saturday

Leenie:

Robin: WOW YOU have AWESOME self control! Keep up the great work!!

Sarah: I know what you mean about the cold and not wanting to eat right. Like you said, do the best you can but the main thing to remember is to make sure you take care of yourself to get well! Hope you feel better soon!

Well, it's off to the Wade House. Not supposed to rain until this afternoon. I'm hoping to remember my pedometer because I'd like to know how far I walk today! Probably not as much as my legs are going to "tell" me I've walked
Have a great weekend and see you on Monday (I don't think I'll make it online tomorrow)

RobinW 09-24-2005 08:50 AM

Enjoy your day Brenda...let us know how much walking you did!!

Sarah~ feel better soon!! Usually the only thing I want when Im sick is toast, definitely not low carb, but it feels good

I dont know how much self control I can admit to. I have notes all over the house, and they seem to be working....quite well. On my fridge and in the cupboard, I have the same notes that say "I am proud and excited to have control over every bite I eat" These seem to be doing wonders. Ive taken my 300lb picture off the fridge, and my "I keep losing weight, but it keeps finding me" magnet off the fridge. Negative reminders!! Ive got notes taped to my mirror, and BIG notes taped to the wall where I work out...even notes taped at eye level when Im sitting on the potty

Not much planned for the day, coffee :D then maybe I'll drag dh out for a walk with me, and signs to make. Thats about it, have a great weekend everyone.

lady_adnerb 09-24-2005 08:24 PM

Robin: I think I should start doing the note thing. Both DH and I want to lose at least 10 pounds by next month (Cousins wedding). And the only way to do it is to stay OP. Congrats on staying on track!!

Well, I was so tired this morning I forgot to take the pedometer  Well, that and it was boring so we left early. Which means we didn't walk as much. Well, we walked MORE than last year because it was spread out more, but not as much as if we'd stayed for the whole reenactment. Tomorrow is a new day and it's back to being OP and getting to feeling good again. I LOVE the way I feel when I'm OP and drinking the water I'm supposed to. Why can't I ever remember that? Yup....those notes all over the house WOULD be a great reminder!!
I'm still not 100% and so I'm going to take something for my stuff head and headache and go to bed (it's only 7:24 PM but to me it feels like midnight). Night all!

RobinW 09-25-2005 09:56 AM

Good Sunday Morning

I dont know why we cant remember that either Brenda! Going tru life without an upset stomach should be incentive enough for me. :dunno:

A note on those notes....the way they are worded makes a huge difference!!

Instead of "I will not over eat today" or "I will stay on plan today"
try... "I am thrilled to have control over my eating today" or "I am thankful and proud that I am eating on plan"

Put yourself in the present, as if its already happened, and that your happy about it. Tell yourself its happening, believe thats it happening, and picture it happening, and it will happen. Hope this helps :)

Dh and I are off for coffee and our sunday paper read at starbucks this morning, then maybe we'll take in a movie. We'll see what the weather is up to.

Have a great day!
