Weekly Chat Sept 12-18

Well, it's another day. I hate those days (alot lately) when I'm not feeling energetic and it's much easier just going and getting a ready-made pizza. So pizza, breadsticks and dessert later.....it's a brand new day!! I've got to quit doing that!!
Someone come along and kick my butt and motivate me please!!!!

beckamundo 09-12-2005 08:40 AM

Brenda, we all have those moments and sometimes you just need to give into them. Rather than feeling bad about it and having be a bad start to your week, have you ever tried doing the one day a week is my cheat day? I do this when I'm not on induction. It is nice to pick one day a week and say this is the day that I can have whatever! It has really helped me and I have found that I don't totally pig out and it doesn't add to much extra to the scale and I still feel better afterwards because it I still am sticking to what I want to do which is losing weight and I'm still getting some of those guilty pleasures. It's just a thought. You could also jsut maybe through in a more intense workout or walk a little longer. Hope this helps and wasn't to much of a 'butt kicking'. :)

I am feeling so much better this week. Last week was horrible. I did feel better on Friday but DH and I went to car dealer and bought him a truck. Spent 4 hours there so Friday was wasted. I did do a Denise Austin workout Friday am and I did one again this am. I do fast forward through the commericals, but I’m still getting a 15min-20min workout. I know it’s not a lot, but it is more than I have been doing and I am excited about that.
My goal for this month was I believe 7lbs and to workout 3x a week. So we will see how the month goes. So far, nothing lost but I was sick all last week and didn’t do much of anything. I didn’t have a gain though either.

This week I'm gonna really be watching what I eat and my exercise because next week DH and I are going away for 2 night 3 days to Gatlinburg. I can’t wait. We celebrate 8 years of marriage next week.

My plan for today is to drink 70ozs of water. Eat maybe a small salad for lunch or a cold hot dog (love them), then a salad for supper at Bob Evans. We are going out with my aunt’s family for our goddaughters birthday so I want to still be good.

Have a good week all and I'll chat more as the week goes by.

Afternoon :coffee:

Bec~ sounds like your doing good, and you've got a plan. Keep it up, those lbs will melt away!

Brenda~ :coach: you can do this!! You know you can!! Unfortunately I know exactly where you are. Its very hard to get out of it, but maybe you can get out of it before you've done too much damage. Start putting a positive spin on things, try writing out by hand what you want. Without using words like again & try. Ive got little notes taped strategically thru-out the house this time. I am going to be 85lbs lighter by Sept 12/06 ....I am going to fit into my size 14 jeans by Dec 12/05,....I see and want the body I know I can attain. Just little reminders on the bathroom mirror, in the closet, in the kitchen cupboard....dont try again, just do it.

Its heart breaking to see someone slide backwards when you know just how hard they worked to get it off. I have officially gained back all 40lbs I lost when I first did atkins 3 yrs ago. I vowed to never get back to 300, let alone back to 240, but Im here, and Im never going to be here again. You either Brenda, you've worked too hard and your worth much more than to let it all go. Hang on Girl!! I hope Im not sounding arrogant, or preachy or just plain *****y, but I know how your feeling, and I soooo dont want you to give up!

Im off to get some things done, I'll check back later.

Have a good afternoon :sunny:

lady_adnerb 09-12-2005 04:40 PM

Bec & Robin: Thanks SO much for the butt kicking. I need to focus on the "can do" instead of the "again" and you're right. This IS do-able!

Today was a waste of a day. Spent it stressing and trying to get a Girl Scout issue resolved and HOPEFULLY (pray please!!) this is all resolved tomorrow!!!! THEN maybe I can start to get back on track with exercising the MUSCLES...and not the ones in my MOUTH either  Eating is good today/water intake stinks. So I'm good for today :) Much better hopefully tomorrow!!
Have a great day :)

Debunny 09-12-2005 05:06 PM

Back on the lowcarb wagon

I have been MIA from this board for a few months :o I wanted to get back on the lowcarb wagon and kept falling off. I am REALLY trying again now. I was having a lot of kitchen shows before and constantly "trying" recipes out so just could not stay with it. But as of last month, I quit the kitchen shows altogether. I decided my health is more important than kitchen shows. I did not want to give up my business completely though so I just cut back to only catalog shows. That way I dont have to give it up completely but dont have to do the new recipes either. :) I actually tried Slimfast Optima, one word...ewwwwwwwwwwwwww. Not pleasant at all. And I thought my pee smelled funny with Ketosis..lol Nothing compared to that . Today I am back on lowcarb and doing well so far. I do need more water in before the day is through but WILL get it in. Cant wait to see the scale moving down :)

Brenda, I am sorry you are going through a rough patch right now. Chin up! Things are going to be just fine and you will get things resolved in no time. Take Care!!

Debbie

lady_adnerb 09-12-2005 09:48 PM

Debbie: Welcome and sounds like you've got a great plan in place! Can't wait to get to know you and thanks for the support :)

Except for the LC ice cream (comfort food dang it all!!) I did great today! So it's a little step. Well, except for the lack of water. Not sure how to get that in.....I think part of it is because I get so tired from lack of sleep (multi trips to the bathroom during the night) that I think I'm self-sabotaging myself on that one. I'm bound and determined to work that one out. Maybe need a huge sign "Got water?" Work on the water first...and then the exercising. Can't rush that one you know :lol3:

beckamundo 09-13-2005 08:11 AM

Welcome Debbie!! Your plan sounds good. Good luck!! I'm gonna enjoy getting to know you.

Brenda, has the Girl Scout issue resolved itself? Is it possible to keep a bottle or glass of water next to you at all times? That might help with the consumpation of it. Baby steps!! That is the way.

Robin, hope things are going good for you and that you are staying OP. You can do this also and your mini goals is such a good idea! Good luck girlfriend!

Now about me...I didn't stay totally OP yesterday. I drank over 80ozs. of water though. I had a chicken quesidilla(sp) for lunch--one whole one cut into 4 slices. I did eat mostly the centers of it and left the edges. For supper was Bob Evans for our goddaughters b-day. I said I was gonna have a salad and when I looked them over they didn't sound good at all. Soooooo I went with the montery steak w/ mushrooms, onions and cheese. I had a special salad (had bacon and cheese on it, forgot that they put croutons on the salad, I did give some of those to my kids) w/the house dressing (I know that was bad) and then the grilled vegetables and 1/2 of a biscuit with honey. So not really bad, but not really good either. I did commit before ordering that that I would come home and do 50 reverse crunches and 5 minutes of my Body Flex workout which I did do after we went out for ice cream. I did NOT get a cone of my own. My 2 youngest (ages 2 and 4) each got a baby cone--these cones were HUGE for being baby sized and I helped them with theirs so I know that I didn't eat to a whole one on my own. This morning I got up and did 15 minutes of a Denise Austin workout (remember I fast foward through the commericials and I did my own cool down instead of hers). Today I have a bottle of water next to me and had 1oz. of cheese so far. Tomorrow is weigh in day and I don't know how that is going to go. I'm stuggling with when to eat and when not to eat. I'm usually averaging maybe a meal a day and I don't know if that is good for me or bad. I'm sure I know the answer to that. My problem is that once I start using my mouth to eat I don't want to stop. That is why I barely eat throughout the day except for the water and maybe a cold hot dog or cheese ever now and then and then eat a good supper (not over eating though). I also am wondering how often it is okay to do induction. I would like to do it 2 weeks of every month until I get closer to my goal weight and then work on figuring out what I can eat carbwise and not gain. Any suggestions.

Well this is all for now. Have a good day all.

RobinW 09-13-2005 09:02 AM

Good Morning :)

Bec~ my first suggestion is to eat more often!! I know what you mean about eating and not stopping, but just eating once a day will not help you lose weight. Eating all your calories in one sitting will slow your metabolism considerably, and because your body is only getting food once, its going to store what it can, because it thinks there isnt enough and go into starvation mode. So.....here is what I do, plan your meals for the day, eg...2 eggs with 1 oz grated cheese scrambled and coffee. Thats it....if you think your going to want more, time yourself, and say, its 8am now, I'll have my lunch at 11. Then go do something else. But you have to eat thru out the day!!

Well, I have more little notes taped up around the house....and I have to say, its working. The one that seems to get read the most is the one taped to the drawer in the bathroom. Its eye level and in direct line of sight when I have to pee :lol3: so I see it often!!! Did my trampoline workout yesterday, and only got 4 min in! Man, that isnt easy! Today's goal is 6 min!

Brenda~ how are you doing today?

Thats about it around here, dh and I are going to go put up a sign in a bit, then we have the afternoon off :sunny:

Have a good one

lady_adnerb 09-13-2005 01:31 PM

Bec: Have to agree with Robin on eating more! I know you don't want to but even if it's just a little bit here and there. Planning the "snack" sounds like a good way to stay OP. And no, they didn't resolve the issue just swept it under the rug and declared it done. Which is fine by me--I want it done!!

Robin: Have fun w/your afternoon off! I'm doing much better now that the meeting is over--thanks for asking :)

Water intake still stinks. But I think the suggestion of having a bottle next to me will help. Tomorrow will be WI for me and I'm not going to like what it says. But if I join the weekly WI and post the weight...hopefully that'll get me motivated and I'll be able to start posting a loss in weight!!! Honesty time is tomorrow. Hopefully it's not TOO awefully bad!!!
Question: Without going to the doctor and having an x-ray....how do you know if you broke your toe??? :?:

lady_adnerb 09-14-2005 07:07 AM

It's WI day.....and WI stinks! But it had to be done and good thing I did step on the scale because maybe THAT will keep me in line! Nothing interesting planned for the day and the good news is...the toe isn't broken like I wondered..just fat, puple and VERY sore. Dr Brenda's diagnosis anyway
Off to go update my weight for here and then get the kids ready for school. Have a great day everyone!!

beckamundo 09-14-2005 07:23 AM

Hey All!
Boy am I tired!! I stayed up to watch Big Brother (I DVR'd The Biggest Loser so I can watch it tonight) then couldn't fall asleep. The alarm goes off at 4:45am and I got up at 5:03 to do 15mins. of my workout w/5min. cool down. I keep waking up and going to bed with migraines. Does that have anything to do with the Atkins diet? Or is it just me being stressed?

Today's Plan is to have a small salad for lunch...maybe because I have to go to a friends house to help plan anothers friends baby shower. Should be interesting. Kids are going with me. For supper pork chop and salad. Water will be at least 70 ozs. (I'm wondering if I'm retaining a lot of water, I drank a lot yesterday but really didn't pee much... hmm).

I had 2 eggs scrambled with a slice of cheese a piece of canadian bacon. I did do 50 reverse curls last night and I will repeat the same tonight and like last night do at least 5 minutes of my Body Flex workout concentrating on the face, stomach, sides and arms. I didn't have a salad last night, I had about 2 cups give or take of the chicken biscuit casserole. I did stay away from most of the biscuit for the most part.

The scale didn't show a gain or loss today which is kind of frustrating considering I have been working out the last 4 days. Makes me want to quit working out, which I'm not going to, but it's just hard. I know I should be happy because there isn't a gain, it's still sad to me. I think it's just gonna be one of those days. I think I'm gonna go and journal a big long journal today and get my life story out so that maybe seeing it and dealing with things will help. It's worth a shot.

Have a good day all!

RobinW 09-14-2005 10:09 AM

Good Morning

Bec~ Im wondering about your water intake....you should be p'ing alot. Are you keeping track of your carbs? Maybe there are some sneaking in on you that you arent aware of. Make sure your eating at least 3 meals a day.

Brenda~ Im glad your back at it :)

Not much happening around here today. Dh and I are going shopping for the grandkids b-day presents. Gd decided yesterday after I gave her a couple choices that she would like to go out with grampa and me, and buy a new birthday outfit. So really its just for gs that we have to buy for today.

Have a great day :sunny:

Ms Spotdog 09-14-2005 10:10 AM

Bec - I believe your body is telling you loud and clear that you aren't eating enough: Headaches, no loss, retaining water. It's saying "Feed me!" Brenda and Robin (and I think I even said it to you a few weeks ago) are right in their advice to you. You need to up the protein and veggies - the little 'good snacks' thru out the day will help you. I promise! lol

Brenda - you are right where I am, weight wise. I need to get on the stick! I would LOVE to be back in the 140s again but it's not going to magicly happen, is it?

Hi, Robin - how are all your ailing ones doing?

Gotta run and take the boys to school,

Kel

RobinW 09-14-2005 01:00 PM

Kel~ thanks for asking....everyone is out of the hospital. 1st ss is back home in sweden but was told to take at least 2 weeks off from work. Gd is back home, and drinking her fluids like she was told. 2nd ss heads back to camp legume (sp?) in about 2 weeks for a month....so things are looking up :)

dbh 09-14-2005 07:39 PM

Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind that I join in. This sounds like a great way to hear how everyone's doing, get ideas, help, encouragement and praise!
I am in my second week of induction; not doing too bad; lost 5 pounds so far, and I realize I didn't get 220# overnight, and I won't lose it overnight either.
I eat alot of pepperoni, Hormel, 0 Carbs, and no nitrate (that I know of), motzerella string cheese has less than 1 carb per piece, and I eat about 4 of those a day. For lunch, I usually have a hamburg, I do eat a small snack around 10 and another around 11:30 (I eat lunch at 1pm), then a small snack around 3pm.

Tonight, I'm fixing sausage links and scrambled eggs with cheese. I never liked scrambled eggs (or omelets) until I used a little Half-n-Half; it gives it such a better taste, and I only use about 2 Tablespoons.

L144S 09-14-2005 09:40 PM

Hi ladies!
I have been MIA because of the new pup. She is great and doing well but it is a HUGE time comittment...

So a fly by and a

-L

beckamundo 09-15-2005 07:45 AM

Morning All!

L~Ahhhhhh, a new puppy that has to be exciting and a HUGE committment. Hope you are doing good!!

I'm doing better today. I did NOT workout last night. Had a poopy day yesterday and just watched The Biggest Loser, 2 days of Day's of Our Lives and 2 days of the new Martha show on DVR.

I did workout 10mins this morning. I know not very long. But better than nothing.

I picked up some SlimFast low carb drinks (the meal replacement ones) at the store yesterday. I got vanilla and chocolate. I had a vanilla this morning. I also picked up a book about the South Beach diet. I just want to read up on that one. I've read the Atkins book, it's been YEARS ago and I need to re-read it but I want to compare the two plans.

I am going to watch my carbs and calorie intake a little bit better and see if I can figure out why I'm not peeing like mad (drank 70ozs. water yesterday but only peed like 3x) and see if I'm staying w/in the alloted calories and carbs (which I do count religously).

Yesterday I had taco salad for lunch (no chips) and then 14 bbq wings (they are 1 carb for 4 wings and 170 calories for 4 wings). That was it other than what I had for breakfast which I posted yesterday.

Today's plan is to have the shake for breakfast (already did), maybe one for lunch or a small salad w/faijita chicken on top of it and pork chops w/salad for supper. Need to make some lasagna for family before it goes bad, do one load of laundry, work on Creative Memories packets before my open house tomorrow night, journal, work w/son on school things (rather than send him to preschool I'm working w/him at home), and then do Body Flex tonight maybe the whole program before I hanker down to watch the Survivor premiere.

Have a good day and stay OP chickies!!

RobinW 09-15-2005 08:05 AM

Good Morning :coffee: I dont think Im quite awake yet. Dh woke me to take him to work, but I didnt need to get up so early :dizzy: Oh well, 1/2 of my coffee is down

Dbh~ welcome!! You've found a great spot for support... and a kick in the butt if you need it ;) Sounds like your doing pretty good so far, keep up the good work, and dont forget the veggies!!

L~ OOOOOoooooooh have fun with your puppy!!

I have the day to myself, so I think I'll take my $10 coupon and head over to the new linen and things, and see what I can find :D Its always so much easier shopping in those places without the dh

I was a slug yesterday too, I watched the entire first season of sex in the city on dvd in the afternoon. But.....I kept my eating under control. I hopped on the scale this morning, and Im doing good.....so I'll get some cardio in today, just to keep things good :)

K, my turn in the bathroom  Have a great day everyone!!

lady_adnerb 09-15-2005 08:54 AM

Bec: You're doing a great job...keep up the great work!! How did the shakes taste? I've thought about drinking one of those in place of breakfast or lunch.

Robin: How did shopping yesterday go?? Have fun shopping today!!

Kel: You know, that's exactly what I was telling myself. That it's not going to magically happen and I can't expect it to even happen if I don't start eating right or drinking the water. Thanks for the reminder also :)

DBH: Welcome and sounds like you're on the right track! Congrats on the 5 pound lost! Great job!!

L: I would love a new puppy but don't really have time (or funds) for it. We had a chance to get a mini dacshund from a friend of ours for REALLY cheap...but I didn't think it'd be wise with our cow (98 pound lab) and the 2 finicky cats. Have fun w/the puppy

Today I get to take DH's car to get the oil changed. But that's not too bad cuz it usually only takes them 5 minutes to change it. I'm really tired for some reason (2 trips to the bathroom would explain it!) so I think I'm going to see if I can catch a nap after I get this done. I also didn't grab my customary can of soda so I'm going to try and quit drinking soda. Maybe THAT is my problem. Well, soda during the week anyway--just not on bowling night (every other Friday starting tomorrow). Then I usually have 2-3 cans the whole night. So I'm hoping if I'm not drinking soda I'll be drinking water. Will have to force myself into that habit again. But I'm thinking the lack of water is my whole problem (well, that and a bad attitude  ).

lady_adnerb 09-16-2005 07:04 AM

Friday

Dang it, this is the only part about LC I don't like. For some reason I'm tired. Hoping the energy comes back soon. BUT just not at night like it had before  Did good yesterday just have to watch the snacking--then I should be losing weight. SHOULD be
Have a great weekend everyone....what you all doing?

RobinW 09-16-2005 09:46 AM

Good Morning

We are having a thunderstorm at the moment and its extremely dark :( Winter is coming!! Im going to look into some supplements for this winter, and the down feeling I get by february. I hate winter here. Well, on the up side, eating is good, well, good, but not.....I need to eat more.

Shopping was good Brenda, we managed to get the b-day gift we needed for grandson, granddaughter decided she wanted me to take her out for a new birthday outfit. So that should be fun. It was one of the 3 choices she had, and we were all surprised thats what she picked  but then again, she's quite the girly girl!

I dont have anything planned for the day today, its raining, so I'll be indoors with all the food  I think I may have to pull out the vacuum and stuff!!

Have a great day everyone

beckamundo 09-16-2005 10:15 AM

Morning all...

Brenda~I find that I am that also tired more but I am finding that w/drinking something at breakfast like the slimfast low carb meal replacement shake and then something small for lunch (if I'm hungry), possible a cheese stick in the afternoon and then a pretty sensible dinner. I really should make my main meal be at lunch, but I feel that dinner time w/ the family is really important and want to sit down w/my family. With kids in school, lunch can't be the main meal of the day. I also have found that if I workout in the morning, even if it is just for 10 minutes that helps. Maybe some of this is something that would help you Brenda. The one thing that I don't like is my mouth always feels dry.

I have my Creative Memories workshop tonight, cleaning and laundry tomorrow, start packing for vacation w/dh to Gatlingburg, on Sunday church, teach SS, 50th wedding anniversary for friends parents then Monday clean house again, finish packing, laundry, write out instructions for m-i-law and leave at 2am on Tuesday for vacation.

Have a wonderful weekend all...and yes winter is fast approaching. I think I'm gonna have to turn the furnace on later today. Oh well, that is why I love Michigan weather and I'm being honest about that.

Food yesterday: 1070 calories and 70 ozs. water. 15 min am workout, 20 min. pm workout (had a blast doing Body Flex and then I just danced around to the 80's music...ahh to be young again).

Today: Plenty of water, sflc shake, 1 stick mozzarella stick, lunch-small salad??, supper will be a scoop of homemade lasgna and a salad. I'm gonna try and stay away from the goodies I am making for those attending my party tonight. Hopefully I will be to busy not to want them. LOL No workout today, dish man had to work on dish and it erased my DVR'd workout, Day's of our Lives and Martha. I was bummed, but hey it's only tv! LOL I did promise myself and told hubby I will workout tomorrow at some point.

Have a good weekend all!

stephanee 09-16-2005 12:51 PM

i fianlly found this weekly chat thanks to brenda so hi everyone. todays a good day for me, just thinking about what to do for lunch, im at work right now, bored and hungry!

lady_adnerb 09-16-2005 01:29 PM

Robin: Hope your t-storm isn't too bad!! Glad your shopping went good and STAY AWAY FROM THE BAD FOOD :p

Bec: What is a Creative Memories workshop?? Maybe I'll have to try the shakes for breakfast. I'm usually not hungry and have resorted to either skipping it (I know, not good) or just eating a piece of LC bread (tasty but could do w/out the extra carbs right now). What flavor do you recommend??

Stephanee: You would have found us eventually  welcome :)

Well, forgot to mention my water intake has increased drastically and seems the more water I drink the more thirsty I am!! I didn't get away with going soda free...but I HAVE increased the water so we'll see how that goes. I was 8 oz shy of getting my daily water intake yesterday. I'm working to improve that today. I've also been working on stuff for this group that my Cousin has formed. We're supporting our soldiers in our area by sending cards, letters, and eventually (if we get enough donated money) care packages. I believe there was something like 15 in our area that are going or are already in Iraq. So this weekend we're selling "Shields Of Strength" dogtags to raise some funds for care packages. I'm really excited about this. My contribution to this is making a collage of pictures I'm taking of everyday things (flowers, trees turning colors, hunting clothes, etc) that represent that time of month. For instance, last month is was just flowers and mushrooms mainly because it was the first one. This month I've got pictures from our county fair, I've taken pictures of hunting clothes (bow hunting opens up) and I'll be taking pictures of the booth where we're selling the tags and such. Each month I'll be re-doing pictures for this collage and I've named it "Touch Of Home" and I'll send it to the soldiers that are in Iraq. I'm super excited about doing that! It's a blast creating it!! So that's pretty much what I'll be doing this weekend. But all for a great cause :)
Time to go drink some more water and pee again

RobinW 09-16-2005 02:30 PM

What a nice idea Brenda!! My ss told us all the guys in his division just loved getting things from back home. Even if it was sent to someone specific they would put it in the community cupboard for everyone to share. The cheese and pizza combos seemed to be the most popular

Yup, Ive been staying away from the food.....I just finished my workout, Im soaked and feel really really good. So that should keep me behaving for the rest of the day!

Stephanee Im glad you found us!! Welcome :balloons:

RobinW 09-16-2005 02:32 PM

just one more thing.......I picked up one of those mini trampolines at sears last week for 19.99 on sale. Its great for an awesome cardio workout! Just bounce away to your fav music. It was perfect today, because I couldnt get out. Anyway, thats it :)

lady_adnerb 09-17-2005 06:17 AM

Robin: Have fun with your trampoline!! Sounds like a great way to exercise!!

Well, it's an early morning for me. Forgot how early I'd have to get up to get ready to be there by 7:00. That means I have to leave by 6:15 (yes...that's AM!!). Well, add to that I didn't get to bed until midnight and it leaves me more tired than usual. Well, that and the fact that I woke up at 4:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I'm giving the girls another 15 minutes to 1/2 hour to sleep yet. Then they're going to have to hussle. I need to make a trip to the store for soda's to bring along.
Plus side: Eating was good yesterday and though I don't think I got the water intake in, it was still better than it had been. So that's a plus. Downside is I had too many soda's while bowling. But I got the exercise in! Well, off to figure out how to wake up!!
Have a great weekend everyone!

RobinW 09-17-2005 09:50 AM

Have a good day Brenda, sounds like yesterday went pretty good

Ive been out garage saleing already, the lady down the street is moving to north carolina and needs to get rid of pretty much everything!! Lots of cool stuff, but I found a pair of ice skates, my size for 50 cents!!! Id have to say thats my most exciting find in ages  They look like they have never been worn, and if Im right, they havent ever been sharpened either!! Too cool!

Not much planned for today, dh has a couple sign appointments, so that means I'll be busy next week making signs. But its going to be a quiet weekend.

Have a good one! :sunny:

PastaLover 09-17-2005 10:42 AM

Thanks for the invite!

Well i started back on Atkins yesterday, went to work last night and pigged out at Jack in the Box. :o ...lol. Story of my life! It was SOOOOOO easy last year, what is my problem this time? :?: Argh! Anyway just saying good morning and hopefully today is a better day.

Leenie 09-18-2005 08:21 AM

Good Morning :)

Pastalover, good for you. We all goof but the main thing is to get back on the plan. Jack In The Box... LORDY !!! I haven't seen one of them in YEARS !!!

Yesterday I decided to do really good eating so I had a grilled ckn wrap with oodles of veggies inside. Then when I left the restraunt w/DD and DH we walked next door to Dairy Queen and I had a child size vanilla ice cream w/rainbow sprinkles... sigh.

Todays a new day :D

Nice to be back

Hello ladies,

And an extra big hello to leenie, brenda and robin who I remember from ages ago. And just from my perspective Brenda, your picture looks amazing compared to your old one. Also, I saw Karen kicking around here somewhere who also looks super fantastic!

So anyway, I've been away for a year and a half but am back. The brief synopsis is:
1. Broke off my engagement to finacee (that's a good thing)
2. Moved out of apartment and bought a house (that's an even better thing)
3. Got a dog
4. Met new guy a year later
5. Gained 10lbs (he cooks and he's skinny and all he eats is pasta!)
6. Quite smoking
7. Gained 10lbs

So all in all a very busy time, somewhat stressful and I edged a wee bit towards my unhealthy coping mechanisms of eating. But 20lbs for me in that long with all those factors is actually amazing that I didn't gain more. So after a long heart to heart with the new fella, (think he finally gets it, he didn't even know that pasta was virtually made out of sugar! Alas, those naturally thin ppl) I've been eating properly for a week now, and 10lbs is gone. Not sure if it's the smoking weight or the new bf weight, hmmm. I remember why I was so good at this before, my body just loves it when I eat right! I feel so much better. Nice to be back and  to all the new folks who I look forward to getting to know better.

TTFN

PastaLover: Well, slipups are normal. So just pick yourself up and start again :)

Leenie: Sounds like you did great in the eating even if you DID have a small cone. Better than a large so I'd call it a success :)

Robin: Congrats on staying OP!!!

Tummy: Welcome back!!! Great to hear all is going well with you and I envy you the weight gain AND loss! I'm up 13 (?) pounds and it's not leaving as easy (and the pic was from that size!). Congrats and don't be such a stranger!!

Well, the weekend is shot as far as being OP goes. I told DH I need to get a handle on this because I feel SO much better when I'm eating low carb. I noticed that when I'm stressed for time it's so much easier picking up a pizza...and then eating it. BUT it's back to being OP. At least I was drinking water

Hey all! Hope you have a good weekend. Just wanted to pop in real quick and say that I'm leaving for vacation w/dh at midnight tonight! I'm so excited!!! I did weigh in yesterday and was down 2lbs. I have been counting calories and eating 3 small meals a day and it is helping I think. Saturday was my blow it day and I did but hey, I still weighed 2 lbs less from last week. So that is a plus. I think having one day a week where you can blow it is good! I am sure that over the next 3+ days I'm gonna be blowing it A LOT. LOL Talk to you all on Friday!

Have fun Bec!! and congrats on your 2lbs gone!! WTG! :bravo:

Tummy~ good to see you back! Sounds like things were a bit stressfull/busy, but you came out of it shining nicely. Congratulations on your 10lbs gone! Keep it up! :)

Well, it seems what Ive been doing is working...so that got me a bit more motivated this morning. After Im done here, I'll go do my cardio, and then maybe a walk too. I did cardio 5x last week, and 2 weight lifting days, with 2 days off, and one (food) free evening where I had a brownie, b-day cake and potato chips. I can live with this  Life changes, thats what its all about isnt it? I know that once the weight is off, I wont have to work so hard, but I will have to maintain it. In all honesty, getting it off is the easy part....keeping it off is whats giving me trouble. If I could keep it off, I wouldnt have 75lbs to loose, Id only have 35 left to go. Anyway, no more negative thoughts....Im moving from here, and I'll be 155 lbs by next summer! It says so all over my house!

Have a great day everyone!
