Low Carb dieting with Lactose Intolerance: help!
Evening everyone.
I just started the low-carb version of the Curves diet (they call it "high protein") and our meal plans include a lot of dairy. Unfortunately, I'm lactose intolerant :( It doesn't seem practicle to try and substitute all of these dairy products with some other kind of protein source. Does anyone know of any products that I could take that will allow me to eat cheese and yogurt without getting sick? |
Ghostlie: Sorry, I can't help. Wish I could!! Good luck!!!!

LG,
I do remember seeing lactose free yogurt and especially milk in the store. I believe they even have cheese. I'm almost positive I've seen it in our local grocery store (ShopRite). I didn't know curves had a diet, thats wonderful !!! Good luck. |
Hi LG There are milk subs made from soy.
I found this medical link for you that may have some answers about lactose intolerance foods. (take out the spaces from the link here) http ://www. gicare .com/pated /edtgs05. htm It mentions LACTAID and DAIRY EASE products and has a diet. maybe it will help you a little. :D |
Carb Countdown takes most or all of the lactose out of it's milk and resplces it with Splenda. This is what I drink when I need milk. I hardly ever drink "real" milk anymore. I know someone who is lactose intolerant and he can drink the Carb Countdown milk with no problem.

Oh yeah...check your local health food store for cheese. They have some ones there that don't have lactose I think.

Thank you for all of the information, ladies! It was a big help :)
