Weekly Chat - August 22nd - 28th
Good Morning Lovies,
How was everyone's weekend? hope it was a successful one. Did you all get some exercise in? Hugs |
Leenie:  Hope you had a good weekend!
Well, it's back to being on program. You know, I even JOGGED to the bathroom on Saturday. There (almost all the way there) and back (almost all the way back)...and it was quite fun to jog through the woods. But I couldn't do it very long because I'm definitely out of shape. So I need to find a trail around here that I could jog in and make it interesting. Well, also told the girls we need to start going for walks and jogging. So going to TRY to keep that intention! Also going to go in the basement and lift weights like I used to. Wasn't into routines and sets and stuff. Just a little here and there. But it was fun :) Now it's back to trying to figure out what to make for supper that's healthy....and in the freezer :lol3: |
Tuesday
Well, did well on Monday. :) Didn't get any exercise (no walk/jog) because my leg has a cramp in it. MAJOR cramp--charlie horse like. It's a little better today. Got an email...my Uncle died Sunday night. So Wednesday and Thursday I'll be going to funeral stuff for him. Not sure if I'm going to the "meal" they'll probably have. Would be best if I didn't (would stay OP then). Was thinking of moving my bedroom around today....so that would be my exercise today
|
Hi Brenda, Leenie and All! I feel terrible I haven't been around here, but have been thinking of you all more than I have been thinking of any diet! haha I've managed to maintain and not gain, so that's better than nothing I suppose. ;)
But today, I'm prepared to start Induction phase with all the right foods and get back on the treadmill. Brenda, I'm so sorry to hear about your Uncle. I'll be thinking of you. |
Sorry to hear about your uncle Brenda, just a thought, if your charlie horse doesnt go away....get it looked at. Dil thought she had a charlie horse (she gets them often) but it turned out to be blood clots. So keep an eye on it.
Eating still isnt right on, but doing better. Getting ready for back to school, and trying to get a handle on the stress the ex causes. I picked up a book last night, called...Life is short, wear your party pants. So far so good. Good to see you around sonny! Have a great day everyone! |
Wednesday
Sonnet: Welcome back :) Great job on maintaining!!
Robin: What's the book you're reading about exactly?? And hope you get a handle on the ex & stress!! The charlie is gone and we even managed to go for a walk last night :) DH wasn't going to so I was just going to take the kids and dog and go...but he changed his mind. YAY!!! Didn't get much done yesterday (cleaning wise)....just changed the dining room around. So now it doesn't look quite as bad. Still a little stuff to straighten up (Girl Scout stuff) but otherwise it's good. Going to straighten up the kitchen today. It shouldnt' take as long as it did the first time  Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for my family. They're appreciated!! |
Im glad your feeling better Brenda. The book is how to deal with stress, and put it in perspective. Right now its telling me how to deal with the chatter in my head. Which is exactly what I need. Its the chatter that gets me so worked up. So far Im liking the book. Its not "medical" sounding, she talks to you as a friend rather than a patient. Know what I mean? So far everything in the book is stuff Im dealing with, and have been dealing with for years.
Dh's birthday yesterday, so we had bbq roast, with all the trimmings....and blueberry pie for dessert. So eating wasnt very good yesterday, but tastey :T Have a great day |
Hi everyone!! I'm new here and trying the forum's out. I have been stickign to the journals and I'm 'adventuring' out now.
bec |
Thursday
Robin: That sounds like a great book! I tend to get scatter brained when things get hectic so I'd love to learn their advice! Maybe you could read the book and kind of break down the general ideas??
Bec: Welcome and feel free to jump here every day! I try and get here once a day and it's a great place to get encouragement and advice...and to get to know others. You're doing great so far---keep up the great work :) UGH. The funeral is today. I did pretty good at the showing (or whatever you call that last night). Teared up a little but didn't actually break down. We'll see how I do today with that sad funeral music and all. And it's a gloomy day out..so fitting! Stepped on the scale to get a peak-a-boo at what I've done...and it's not as bad as I thought. Maintained which is a good thing. But I want to start LOSING again. I liked being a loser  So I'm putting next Monday as the day I cut down on sodas (bad habit I got into again)....drinking the water I'm supposed to and (oh man, can't believe I'm saying this) getting some form of exercise. The girls enjoy walking but we'll be babysitting my Niece's 9 mo old DS for the whole week (day & night) so not sure how to walk w/him unless they give us a stroller. We'll see. So that's the plan. Now I need you all to get on my case (at least about the water. THAT is a must now) about this!!! Deal?!?!?! |
Morning :D
Bren, sorry about you uncle :( If your leg is still cramping up, take some magnesium pills. They really do help. I used to get charlie horses every stankin night, I took the mag pills and POOF! gone. amazing how fast they work. Robin, Sonny & Bec |
Thanks for making me feel welcomed ya all!! I really appreciate it. Today has been a good day thus far still. Only had one bottle of water and 9 slices of pepperoni. Only eating when hungry and that happens mostly towards supper. Still losing a little a day. I try not to weigh myself daily but after this past weekend where I went food crazy I have been. I need to hide that darn scale. Sorry to hear about your uncle Brenda and I'm thinking about you and your family during this time. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Well time to fold more laundry.
|
Im here  But gotta go...Dh is taking me out for supper. Have a sitter and everything.
Hiya Bec :) |
Have a nice dinner, Robin - that is very nice of him. It is great to see when people make the effort to nurture thier relationships along.
Dog tired tonight - glad it is Thursday. |
Happy Friday to ALL!!
Did good yesterday, only had some chicken stir fry for supper. 1/2 c. rice. Trying to increase water intake. Has anyone tried the Atkins premade shakes? I was wondering about buying some of those when I'm out at Sam's today. I did my 2-week induction and I'm still losing afterwards (probably because I really only eat supper) and I'm considering doing the induction again here in about another week. Dr. said that it was okay to do induction few weeks (like I came off of it the 15th of this month and planning on doing it again starting the 6th of Sept.). I always feel so much better on induction...does that sound weird?? Well time to get dd up for breakfast. Have a good one all!! |
Leenie:  I'll get some magnesium today (if I remember to add to the list) for future cramps. DH usually gets them a lot.
Bec: I sure hope you're eating your veggies and following the foods you're supposed to be eating!!! Definitely eat your veggies. I know you're not hungry...but FORCE yourself to eat. even if it's small meals!! Robin:  How was your meal?? Sounds romantic!! Lucky you! Ms Spotdog: Hope you got rest!! Well, eating stunk yesterday as I figured it would. County Fair is today so it'll stink again. Already told DH that Monday I want to cut out soda and going for STRICT food again!!!! Did see a picture of my backside from the Niece's wedding. It doesn't look half bad :lol3: But it COULD look better!!! So I'm going to work on that 10 pounds and then call it a good thing :) (even though could stand to lose more than 10!!!) |
I hear ya, Brenda. I'm 5'5", and around 153 lbs. I would REALLLY like to get down to 135 but at 45 years old and at this stage of my life (single mom, etc.) I don't think that is realistic. I cannot/will not put in the time & hard work it will take to get there so I'm thinking I would feel good at 145 and will be thrilled to see it again.
Bec - I too am concerned that you aren't eating enough. You will lose weight in the beginning if you cut your food intake dramaticly like that but then your body will go into starvation mode and won't give up anything. Doing that to your system is what messes up your metabolism and makes things difficult in the future. Re-read your book and don't skip the parts about the science behind the WOE - you gotta treat your body good for it to react the way you want it to. Brenda - I love fair food. Our state fair is going on right now and I haven't gone yet but I'm thinking that I might take my mom (my teen boys aren't interested - "boring"). I promise myself I will skip the sinful treat I love but I will get some State Fair Tacos. Have fun at your county fair. Eye doc appt. today. Hopefully I'll get a referal to a doc for lense replacement surgery. I really need it. Have a good one all, Kel |
Our fair comes in october. I love the fried dough and do have one because I look forward to it wvery year.
I am with you on the age/weight vs effort. I too would like to take off the 10 lbs, but I am finding that maintaining is making me feel ok too. The factor that helps me the most is the walking, The edorphands make a huge difference in ho I feel aboout me. The kids and I are off to run a few errands today, but I thought I might share a picture of our puppy Dixie due home in about 2 weeks! I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, I want her home NOW have a good day chickies. -L PS I posted another picture here http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...978#post943978 |
L~she's adorable!!! Congrats on your new family member :)
Dh and I had a wonderful dinner last night, I had peanut crusted curry chicken...it was amazing, the sauce had banana's, grapes, currents, papaya, and mango, absolutely delicious. We got home, and promptly got out of our dress clothes, and put the stretchy comfy ones on  Im ready to get back to eating 100% properly. Monday morning starts it (again) for me, I have my workout ball dusted off, and my dvd's out and ready, I just have to get the clothes off the work bench, and I'll be all set. I'll do some grocery shopping tomorrow or sunday and get what I need. I need to get the rest of this weight off, Ive been maintaining the last 80lbs for a couple years now. Its time to get the rest of it off. On the plus side, Ive also managed to maintain a steady 80lb(+-) loss. I'll take the weekend to get focused and motivated a bit more. Anyway, thats it around here, nice to see everyone popping in ... |
Happy Weekend Ladies ;)
|
rofl...I need my eyes checked. That'll teach me to open threads when they're not needed yet :lol3:
Well, it's bright and early and I get the Nieces' munchkin today...for the WHOLE WEEK!! Should be interesting. After 2 days of carbfests...it's time to get back into the game. Today I'll cut to my usual WOE and tomorrow start cutting out the soda and getting the required water in. Add exercise to the mix (to help strengthen my shoulder and get rid of the tension in my neck/shoulders) and I should be good to go Not much happening today....how about with you all?? |
Morning lovies, how's everyone this fine day?
|
