pizza...

  • Ok, I LOVE pizza...well, this one place in particular down the street from me called Winner's has the BEST pizza on earth...I was wondering, if my boyfriend ordered some, would it be ok for me to take the cheese and canadian bacon off 1 or 2 slices and eat it? or do you think the pizza sauce would have carbs in it?(this would not be a normal thing, but maybe a once a month treat)
  • I've heard of a number of people doing that who love pizza and are on Atkins. I love pizza, too, but I could never pick the toppings off without eating the crust. I'm just weak, though! Tomato sauce does have carbs, but it's definitely better to eat the toppings and some sauce than the whole piece of pizza. I looked at a jar of tomato sauce I have, and there are four carbs in 1/4 cup. It seems like there would be less sauce than that on a few pieces of pizza, so it's really not too bad carb-wise.
  • I agree with Jdoggmartin, some people will order a veggie pie or get oodles of toppings and just eat that (maybe you can get a side salad as well).
  • There are times I've just plucked the toppings off a piece of pizza. Make sure not to get the crust though. It's easy to do sometimes. I also finish off with a salad to make sure I'm not tempted to eat the WHOLE thing!!
  • hmm well im thinking i could get a canadian bacon pizza to share with the bf, he wont eat anything but that, then on 1/4 of it (i do not need 1/2 anymore!) I could get peppers and olives and meat and whatever else...then kind of drape the cheese and toppings over a salad
