Thursday Chat 9/23

Well, the lovely scale went down again. Now I'm actually what my siggie says. But will it stay there? Nope. And why not? Cuz it probably wasn't meant to  I might be going out to eat for lunch today. A guy from one of our companies is coming and taking th bosses out to eat. After 8 years they've finally decided I need to know what the guys/gals say so they've started taking me with. So far I've gone twice. So the problem today is.....is there going to be something OP to eat  Then there's Saturdays civil war re-enactment. I swear I PLAN on being good...but good intentions and me? Well, history is enough said right?

Leenie 09-23-2004 08:24 AM

Good Morning,

Brenda, you need to say YOU WILL do good, not will it stay there, nope? You can make any lunch OP, you just have to concentrate on whats healthy and not on what your hankering for. You can do it !!! YES! oh YES! don't give me that bull kaka. You can. TRY !! I DARE YOU :s:

Nothing much is new, sosdd here. Weather is beautiful, thank YOU LORD!!! Eating has been okay, the scale will let me know on Saturday. Aunt Flo should be visiting any second / day now :( and I feel like a snarveling bear. Alergies are full blown GROWL!!! hehehehe, aren't I just the picture of health :fr:

Well you all stay away from that "C" word and behave ;)

HUGS!!

jane8760 09-23-2004 08:37 AM

Brenda: You love salads and I know almost ALL restaurants have salads...you could get one with tuna, chicken, beef whatever! Just forgo the bread. The only places I have a real problem in are Italian and Chinese restaurants. I'm not a veggie eater so those places are tough.
YOU CAN DO THIS! COME ON GIRL, KICK SOME :censored:

Leenie: Isn't the weather just gorgeous this week and is supposed to be good this weekend too! DH and I are going up to Maine this weekend. A friend has a cottage that she is loaning us over the weekend before she closes it up for the season. We have dinner reservations Saturday night at this wonderful place overlooking the ocean....*sigh* can't wait.
My allergies are horrendous the past week or so! I take a pill and a spray each day and still!!!!!!

Nothing much going on with me either......same old, same old. Feeling very tired. Can't wait to go away this weekend. We are going to hit the outlet malls in Kittery on the way home on Sunday because we need new silverware and they have this Oneida outlet there where we got the last set. The dishwasher has wreaked havic with it. Maybe DH will let me hit another store or too ;)
Weight is hanging in there....goes up then back down to siggy weight each week lately. I think my being tired is not helping....my defenses are down when I get this way. I would like to think I would get some rest this weekend but I don't usually do to well if I am not in my own bed...**** I don't do well in my own bed!

Hope everyone has a great day.

lady_adnerb 09-23-2004 08:38 AM

Well dang Leenie. You sure know how to spoil things don't ya. First ya dare me to stay OP then you say stay away from the "C" word. What fun is that? I've got zero willpower. Whatever happened to when I FIRST started this WOE? I could turn down food left and right. I need that again! I PLAN on staying OP. Guess the salad is going to probably be the only thing not OP cuz I don't know about the dressing (I only like French and it's HIGH in carbs) . As for Saturday? I'll deal with that when it comes. lol
And Leenie....when Flo comes to visit stay away from the "C" word :P

Loozingme 09-23-2004 08:38 AM

Good morning ladies!

Brenda: You know you can do this! Lunch shouldn't be all that hard to do OP. How about a grilled chicken salad or a burger without the bun and veggies? Smothered chicken? Baked fish? Steak and salad? Shrimp scampi? Hmmmmmmmmm? Anywhere you go will have SOME kind of OP food for you. You can keep the scale down!

Leenie: Seasonal allergies? I love the autumn-like weather too but it definately messed with me when I lived on the east coast. Do we have to set snarling bear traps? :) Just kidding

Have a safe day ya'll
Hugs
Jules

lady_adnerb 09-23-2004 08:41 AM

Jane: Hope you enjoy your weekend! Going to a cottage sounds like fun. Have you talked to a doc about your not sleeping?

Forgot to mention...the DOG has allergies  Been having to give her allergy pills. Otherwise? EWWW!!! She bites and licks at herself all the time. Wouldn't be bad but she does it while on the couch (so the couch gets wet). EWWWWW. Youngest daughter started out with what I thought was allergies...but now I think it's a cold. It's not too bad yet.

lady_adnerb 09-23-2004 08:42 AM

Jules: Hope you're doing well today

(Ok. Can you tell I'm bored?? Guess I should quit answering everyone's posts right away. )

Loozingme 09-23-2004 08:44 AM

Morning Jane...
we were posting at the same time :) I'm so jealous...I love going to the outlet malls! Good excersise...oh who am I kidding? I like going for the Wilson's leather outlet and the Old Navy and Gap outlets for my DD.

Hugs
Jules

Loozingme 09-23-2004 08:50 AM

oh Brenda...

...I forgot to ask you. Did I see you post something about deer bacon somewhere once? I might be crazy...oh heck...I know I'm crazy...but I was mentioning it to my mom. My dad is a big hunter and I am trying to get them to eat healthy. They were wondering what cut the deer bacon comes from.

Hugs
Jules :coffee:

Theo'sgirl 09-23-2004 09:02 AM

Good Morning ladies!!! :)

Well yesterday TOM pretty much kicked my butt but I did manage to get up and take a good walk with the kids and today it is back to the gym since we leave for Las Vegas 1 week from today!!! Yippeeeeee That is gonna be so cool my sis, my mom and all my high school friends in VEGAS!! No DH or babies! I can't wait. I am so proud of my self too cause the hotel and airfair was totally paid for by the promotion we did at work for the Starz movie channel, for every Starz we sold we got 5.00 and i made enough to pay for my airfair and the hotel! I worked my a** off! and it id nice to get a big reward.

B-I know you can do it too!

Jane_ oooooo i love the outlets!! I could stay there all day!

Hi Leenie, glad you are getting some nice weather!

Hi Jules!!!

Have a great day!!:)

Loozingme 09-23-2004 09:07 AM

TG: That's awesome. Have you been to Vegas before? I've always wanted to go but I'd come back broke ...big time. Enjoy your trip...you sound like you need and deserve it!

Hugs
Jules

errrrrrrrr...I think my green tea is making me hyper :)

jane8760 09-23-2004 09:12 AM

Wow, lots of posts all at once.........

Brenda: Yes I did talk to my doctor and she gave me a script but it is a short acting one because I can get to sleep the problem is waking up around 3am and not being able to get back to sleep. So this pill only last like 4 hours so she thinks it could do the trick. I just don't want to get into taking sleeping pills if I can help it. I have year long allergies but fall and winter are my WORST and I think that isn't helping. Allergies can just wipe you out.

Jules: Usually when we travel DH hates to take me shopping....he isn't much fun! The funny thing is that I was thinking of getting him to stop on the way home and then yesterday he called me at work and said "you know, we should stop in Kittery on the way home and get some new silverware" I said "funny you should mentiont that".They also have a Crate and Barrel outlet up there that I like to hit. Let's hope he's in the shopping mood.

TG: Congrats on getting the trip already paid for! That is awesome. Now you just need some spending money!!!!! Sounds like a fun time.

PiXiEgAL 09-23-2004 09:20 AM

hiya guys! how are you doing??

LoriAS 09-23-2004 10:31 AM

Just popping in to say hello...

marie. 09-23-2004 12:03 PM

Egads! crazy women on board!

Brenda: I DOUBLE dog dare ya! wings! how about wings!? I love wings...but I digress....good luck today :^:

Leenie: the "C" word????...why I never...the nerve of some peop.......oh...."carbs"....nevermind ;)

Jane: maine, how wonderful....I've never seen that part of the country....I usually fly into one of the southern states and fly back out- are the fall colors there yet?....*sigh* it is 94 here in Cali today.... :o

Jules; Good suggestions! Im going to keep those in mind when I go out next! :)

TG- Whoo VEGAS!....I live about 3 hours from Vegas so we go a lot- if you want a great steak go to fremont street ( gotta see the fremont street experience anyway....its a must) and go to Binions horseshoe...a really vintage casino...downstairs is a coffee shop/restaurant that has a wonderful steak for like 14.99......also limericks in Fitzgeralds ( same street) has great lobster bisque.....or jillians at the mall end of the street has dancing, bowling, arcade and a great restaurant....but the best meal in Vegas is the cajun shrimp pasta at the harley davidson cafe on the strip...awww! now I want to go to Vegas!....lol- have fun.

Pixie:  how are you today?

Lori:  Howdy!

well, today is back to school night so I get to talk to some parents...good thing is the periods are short so I usually just get through an overview of my program and the bell rings......Thinking about going to Cambria where we got married this weekend.....Dale and I are our own worst enemies * sigh* all one of us has to do is say "hey, lets go to (fill in the blank) and we are there....whether we can really afford it or not...one time I mentioned vegas on a saturday afternoon and 10 minutes later we were on the road...and didnt come back for 4 days....fun in theory but boy it hits us later....but I realllllly want to go to the beach!!!*whiiiinnnneee*

lol
have a great day ladies! *whiiiinnnneee*

jane8760 09-23-2004 12:22 PM

Pixie, Lori:

Marie: Peak season as we call it around here is about ready up north. MA will not change for a few more weeks. I hear that NH has almost hit peak, not sure if the southern part of Maine has yet. Columbus Day weekend is really the biggest time to see the foliage. It really is something to see. I should see if I can dig up a picture or two to show you how gorgeous it can be. BTW....the people up north in NH, VT and ME call the tourist who come to see the foliage....Leaf Peaking Geaks. Western MA has some absolutely stunning scenery this time of year. Oh gosh you could get me going forever on the foliage....I love it....doesn't last long enough though then the snow hits :faint:

lady_adnerb 09-23-2004 01:44 PM

Jules: Usually DH has the scraps made into bacon or hot dogs. He saves some for himself because he makes his own sausage (DELICIOUS!!) . One of the chop shops (they cut up deer, beef, pigs, etc. Plus they do processing) around here makes THE best venison bacon. This year DH has 2 bow tags and he'll have 2 gun tags...plus oldest DD will have 2 gun tags. We're going to have venison coming out of our ears! Oh, forgot the crop damage tag DH gets to fill!! Do we eat it all?? YUP!!! Yummy!!

TG: Congrats on having a trip to Vegas paid for. I went there once---I was 5 months pregnant. The minute I hit Vegas turf my feet swelled so much I had to go buy moccassins cuz I couldn't wear my tennis shoes!!! And then when we were returning to the airport to catch our flight we were late....so ever see a fat (I looked like I was 9 months) pregnant woman run?? Not pretty

Jane: Well dang. Sorry there's nothing that's helping. Too bad there wasn't some magical herb you could take to knock you out. Hope you sleep decent soon! May I ask why winter is a bad allergy month?? And your scenery sounds absolutely breathtaking!!! I guess the further north from us you go the better the leaves are. I guess they're something to see during Fall! I'm hoping to take a weekend to see that...and bring my camera :)

Pixie:
Lori:

Marie: YOU'RE calling US crazy? Pot calling the kettle black much? Sounds like you'll be going to the beach  And sure, spoil my fun by double dog daring! HMPH!!

Well, I've no reason NOT to stay OP today. I didn't get invited to go out to eat. Well, I DID---by MY bosses...but it didn't sound like it from the company rep. So I came home, had a couple hot dogs, a hamburger and a couple beef jerky strips. Dang it, I was hungry!!! So I'm hoping to make meatballs for supper. So OP I will be today. One disaster diverted.

PiXiEgAL 09-23-2004 01:53 PM

I'm doing great. well... i felt guilty after not resisting a chocolate bar. but i'll be back on track. :)

jane8760 09-23-2004 02:10 PM

Brenda: I am allergic to EVERYTHING! But the things I am most allergic to are around in the fall and winter......oak (leaves falling) dust (forced hot air in the house) mold (don't even want to go there....where is this mold?) and of course the dreaded dust mites....those things gross me out! Grasses and smoke are a killer too....if we build a fire in the fireplaces I am screwed. You asked!

Pixie GAVE INTO CHOCOLATE!!!! The C word!

lady_adnerb 09-23-2004 02:38 PM

Pixie: Don't feel bad. Just start over and go on from there.

Oh NO!!!! Not the dreaded "C" word. Hm...chocolate? Carbs?

Wow Jane, how do you manage with allergies to everything? I have noticed that in the winter the youngest DD used to get TERRIBLE colds. And it usually started whenever we turned the furnace on. The past few years we've been buying more expensive (Yikes---$15 a piece!) furnace filters and I'll be darned if she hasn't had less colds!!!

jane8760 09-23-2004 02:42 PM

Drugs, drugs and more drugs! We have to buy the expensive filters also....still isn't 100% though.

Loozingme 09-23-2004 07:33 PM

Evening all!

Jane: Did you ever have to take the drops that you put under your tongue for allergies? My mom and brother used to take them. I don't know how much good they did...that's the good ole University of Iowa hospitals allergy clinic for ya.

Brenda: Thanks for the info. My mom was really curious. They are always looking for new and different venison stuff.

Pixie: Don't feel bad about a candy bar, just get back OP. Once you choose this WOE you have to make a choice and stick to your guns.

Marie: You are so lucky to have cool places within driving distance. I'm so sick of looking at pine trees and armadillos

TG: How was your workout today?

Lori: Hello back attcha :spin:

See ya'll tomorrow...one day closer to being fit!

Hugs
Jules ;)
