Friday Chat - August 20th
 

Good Morning,

So, any good plans for the weekend ? Watcha all up to ?

Tomorrow is build a bear w/the girls and then to Micky D's for lunch, Sunday is DD's barbie birthday party, I think I'm more excited than her, we are having Ice Cream cake from Carvel, you know the kind w/the crunchies in the middle ziti, nacho platters, burgers & dogs. Easy things.

So that would be it !

Today I leave work at noon, only 2 more friday's left I can leave early :(

This cold / virus I have is taking its toll on me. I almost drove myself to urgent care yesterday on my way home from work. When I left to go home, its about a 10 minute walk to my car, my legs got like rubber, I was dizzy and it felt like some one was sitting on my chest. But I made it home okay and just sat. I went to our medical dept here and they gave me antibiotics w/some decongestants so I'm hoping that will do the trick, since my doctor is such an asswipe. When I saw her 2 weeks ago she gave me caugh medicine, never checked my BP or my ears for the dizzyness.. she said when the cough syrup is gone, and I'm still coughing to call her and she would prescribe antibiotics.. I said okay and I did that. When I called to get the antibiotics she said no, I'm not giving you those, I'll give you an inhaler ??? I said WHAT !??? NO, because I felt like she was treating the symptoms and not the cause... dumb :censored:

I have to find another doctor real soon. I called my Hubby's doctors office yesterday to see if any of the dr's there could see me, and they asked me if it was an emergency, so I told them yes, I was dizzy and having a hard time breathing... the nurse/receptionist said.. sorry we can't see new patients for 2 - 3 weeks. Follow up w/us then ???????????? Nice place huh. (Thats why I went to our company medical dept b/c nobody would see me).

Oh geez Leenie that stinks! I know how you feel about docs.....I have had a horrible time finding one that gives a :censored: the past few years. They all book months, and I mean months, in advance and then when you find one that you think is ok the next time you call they never return your call!!!!
I used to work for a doctor for 12 years and she NEVER left the office without making all her calls or she took the folders home and made them there. I came to expect the same thing from my docs.....sadly I never got that.
Hope you feel better soon. The build a bear party sounds fun. I love bears. I collect Boyd Bears (I'm ashamed to say). I am so not a country kind of girl but there is something about those bears! I have.....geez I don't know how many! I keep them all in my old doll cradle in my spare bedroom. My Bride bear is on my night table :)

Well, I am down almost another pound this morning. Won't count it until I see if I am down next week. At least this puts me close to were I was before the big cheating frenzy. Feeling kind of bloaty today though. I have been having problems with the old intestinal tract lately, which I wonder if it is from my vitamins...didn't take them today to see what happens. And I seem to be having problems related to the bladder surgery that I had TWICE!!!!!! If I have to call this guy again I am going to scream! The last time I saw him and told him I had pain he said "well I can't do anything about your anatomy" I told him there was nothing wrong with my "anatomy" before!!!!!!! Maybe it is a bladder infection...I don't know.
So needless to say the old tummy is puffin out today. Can't even hold her in :lol:

Glad it is Friday. Going with the fruit idea for tomorrows pool party. I am going to go to a market today at lunch and pick up some blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries if I can find them. I have one of those Tupperware sectional thingys and will put them in that with some whipped cream. Yum....can't wait. Also went to Wally World (that is what we call Walmart around here) and got a 1/2 gallon thermos to make my Baja Bob's margarita mix in. Let the games begin!!!!

Good Morning Leenie: Hope that you have a fun weekend. Sure sounds like you will! Sorry that you are not feeling well. That is awful about the doctor's office. I would definately be looking for a new one. My dr's office has the peditrician, ob/gyn, and family practicioner all in one building. Whenever you really need to see them, they always work you in. You may have to wait a little while, but they will see you. Can't imagine really needing them and not being able to see them. Guess we are just lucky! Hope you feel better soon!

Jane: Sounds like you need to be looking around for a new dr also! Hope you will be feeling better soon! Congrats on the loss!!!! Have fun at the pool party tomorrow. We call Wal-Mart that here also :lol:

Well, It is FINALLY Friday! Looking forward to the weekend. Am planning on sleeping in tomorrow as DH has to work. If he doesn't have to work on Sunday, we are gonna head down to the beach tomorrow afternoon. Just going down to see what damage Charley did last weekend. We know we didn't have any damage, but some of our neighbor's did. Hopefully it's not too bad down there. Well, gonna go grab some breakfast and get ready for the day. Hoping today will be a great day for everyone!

Leenie I hope you feel better soon & the ab's should help. Yes find a new doctor, you should not have to tolerate that, I have gone to alot of doctors (and worked with them too) it is important to find the right fit, and one that will go the extra mile!!

Well I am at work today and then I am going home to clean the house. Dropping Toad off at his new potential home tomorrow for the weekend to see how it goes! Cross your fingers...they seem really great with him. I also have to get back to the gym...I have been spending so much time networking for the dog I have lost my gym time!!

Duh...Lisa sorry I just read your posts from yesterday about the doctor!!! ahahahahaa Glad it went well!!!

When I was sooooooo positive both of my kids were girls, until the ultrasound, we were not going to know the sex but I read so many xrays at work that I knew exactly what the 3rd leg was!!! The tech was laughing when I pointed out to her DS's penis!! ahahahahaha I said " Oh it is a boy" and she said "How do you know? " and I said "look right there its his little who-who" :lol:

Well, I ended up at another baseball game last night (unplanned). It was a single A game, and they'll do about anything to get people to come. A friend of mine was lured in by the $1 beers and really wanted to go. So, I ended up there, and of course I couldn't resist $1 beers. I ended up having five -- cheap entertainment. :^: Luckily, I avoided all the other temptations there...

Tonight, it's another baseball game -- major league, this time, so no cheap beer gimmicks! I'm going with DH tonight. I'm so confused... it's like I have two lives -- a married life and a single life. DH and I are separated, but still spends lots of time together and really get along well -- who knows what will happen in the future? Then, I've got my single friends who I hang out on nights that I don't spend with him. They all think I should date other people, but I don't know. :?: I've had guys ask me out, but I just don't know what to say... Confusion!!

I think I'm actually going to go to the beach this weekend, if the weather is nice. I haven't been in awhile. I'm going to be brave and put on a swimming suit and just enjoy it! (Or try to anyway.) Then, I think I'm going to another baseball game with a big group of friends on Saturday -- should be fun. We might hit the sports bar across the street from the stadium after the game.

TG - Hope all goes well with the Toad-ster! He's such a cutie pie, I wish I could take him. But he'd think my two guys were chew-toys ;)

Jina - Honey, that has to be so hard! My youngest brother and his wife are going through a similar thing. They've been separated for almost a year, but they still hang out together and such. They just recently decided that they really need to be completely away from each other if they're ever going to decide what needs to happen. So he's in New York at med school and she's back here in Oregon for the next 6 months. I don't know about your personal situation, but sometimes distance gives you more clarity.

Well, once again I started off with good intentions yesterday. The interview went well, I think. Hopefully it will result in a great job as a project manager. We'll see.

After it was over, I went and visited a friend when DH calls and says his stomach has been bothering him so he's coming home from work (only one hour into his shift!) I go home to wait for him. When he showed up, he whisked me off to the bar - said a beer would help :rolleyes: That turned into drinking at a bar. Going and getting in a friend's pool with her teenage daughter (I had my suit with me!). Then drinking beer with the boys until 2:30 in the morning. Oy! I don't even know when DH came home, but he was there when I left for work at 6:30.

One of my good friends leaves for 'the sandbox' on Monday so we're having a big send off for him on Saturday night. I'm going to miss him so much! This is the 4th friend of mine to get shipped over there. It sucks.

Other plans for the weekend include going to see the new Exorcist movie this afternoon and going to the Garlic Festival tomorrow. It's so much fun! Garlic chicken, garlic corn, pickled garlic, garlic beer, and even garlic ice cream which is surprisingly good! I won't really be eating, but I love the rides and the booths and the general feel of the whole thing. Yeah garlic!

StarPrincess: That is too bad about your friends going to Iraq. I have a friend who's husband was over there for just over a year. It was so hard on her and their 5 year old son. He's back now but I know him....if they asked he would go again!
GARLIC!!! I love garlic....the more the better. I have seen the Garlic Festival on the Food Channel and it looks like so much fun.

Well....off to the store to buy the berries.

SP we have a garlic festival???? Where??? Of course I come from Gilroy CA, the garlic capitol of the WORLD!! hahahaha so I LOOOVVVEEE garlic.

Yup, TG, we have a garlic festival! It's in North Plains. I'm sure it's not quite the scale you're used to but I love the small town feel of it. Here's the link all about it.

Star: I think your brother and his wife have the right idea about actually being "separated" for awhile. I think that's exactly what we need to do, but it's so hard since we live so close and it's such a comfortable thing to spend time together.

Jane: That's OK. Yes. He's had a string of girlfriends, but none at the moment. He says he wants to work things out with me... but he's a little hard to trust. I'm not sure what I want?!? Sometimes I just want things to go back the way they used to be with him. Other times it sounds kind of fun to date other guys... :s:

Grrr! A thunderstorm ruined my walk/jog today. I guess today might just have to be my day off from exercise.

I have been having the hardest time trying to get a photo the right size to post. I was going to post a progress picture, but I'm so frustrated at this point that I might save it for another day! :mad:

jdoggmartin: Oh no! we need to see the picture. Size it to 500 px and it should work.

Jina - you can open it up in Paint (under Accessories in your programs). Then use the stretch/skew option under tools. You can reduce it by percentages so it stays proportionate. Then you can check your pixals by clicking 'attributes' under tools. It needs to be no larger than 500x500

SP-I never even heard of that Garlic Festival but my sis had, I will call you if we end up going. It looks fun!! The Gilroy Garlic Festival is usually a drunken garlic fest!! hahahahaaha!
