On again, Off again
Didn't I read somewhere that if you keep going on and off low carb eventually you screw something up and it doesn't "work" anymore? Kind of like screwing up the metabolism or something. So could that be the reason I've not lost weight again? Or is it just not going to show until a whoosh? I know I said the scale went down a pound...but I had gained to begin with. So why doesn't it just fall off (like water weight or something?).
ARGH!! I feel like I'm doing something wrong again. I just can't figure out what. Off to post what I ate yesterday. |
Brenda - You are pretty close to your goal. You can't expect to lose the same way you did initially. Remember, your body gets in to comfortable spots where it doesn't want to change. Relax, the stress you're hanging onto doesn't help. So take a deep breath, throw the scale in the closet for a week, and just focus on eating right and exercising.

It's hard to realise how close to goal I am when I look in the mirror and still see so much flab hanging there. I feel so fat yet it's unbelievable! And it's not even during TOM!!!

I hear you there! I still feel too squishy and the extra skin I have now looks like a sock that's a bit too big. BUT that's not a scale issue, that's an exercise issue. There are plenty of fat skinny people. You know who I'm talking about - they're thin, but still incredibly unfit. So maybe it's time to stop focusing on a number and start focusing on a look and feel. Really buckle down on the cardio and strength training. Really focus on how your muscles look and feel when you're using them.
It's been working for me. I like to pick up heavy things now just so I can see my biceps flex. LOL - I'm such a guy! |
ROFL. And here I thought staring at my muscles last night while bailing water was bad  I like to lift stuff also. My back/neck doesn't always like it...but I figure that's tough--they'll just have to strengthen up and get w/the program

Brenda- the last time I was dieting on E-diets I hit a point that I no matter what I couldn't drop anymore... finally came to the conclusion that was the weight that my body liked and that was were it decided to stop. Which was about 10 pounds more than I wanted to be but just couldn't get the scale to budge. That was going to the gym 4 to 5 days a week, doing yoga, strength training and extra cardio- up to 2 hours a day... and eating strictly by the diet... so maybe it is a plateau or maybe you body is saying NOOOO I am happy!!!
