Eat less?

I've been wondering....as my weight goes down am I supposed to be eating less? I swear I'm still eating more than when I started Atkins! The only time I'm "full" is when I make a huge salad for myself. The salad's getting smaller but I still eat the same of everything else. Should I make myself cut back?

Leenie 03-28-2004 09:56 AM

Why would you want to do that ?
If you are losing at what your doing now then don't change a thing. That would be your worst mistake IMHO.

Your body will let you know when and if you need to cut back.

lady_adnerb 03-28-2004 09:19 PM

Thanks Leenie. That totally makes sense. I need to listen to my body (and not my mind so much) more.

Leenie 03-29-2004 08:23 AM

Brenda, I agree w/you, it is so confusing, you hear this and that and think OMG I should be doing it. I do the SAME thing, maybe if I didn't I would have better success.

Yes we need to follow our bodies instead of our minds :dizzy:

lady_adnerb 03-29-2004 08:32 AM

Well, I know the exercise part I SHOULD be doing. I'm just not a very exercise oriented person. I know if I did exercise I'd lose more weight (well, in theory it sounds right). And I'm seriously going to try to. It's getting up the "oomph" to do it. Maybe I should go use my moms' bike every day.

Leenie 03-29-2004 08:39 AM

Exercise is my down fall........send me some of your oooomph when you find it.

Froufy 03-29-2004 04:07 PM

Me too - need mega ooooommmpphhhhh!

:)

lady_adnerb 03-29-2004 04:47 PM

I haven't found a store that sells oomph. Found flax seed though  Not much good it does me on induction now though  I need some cute, hunky, muscle bound stud standing there telling me "come on girl, get that tushy moving." ;) Now THAT would be OOMPHHH!!!!!

goddessholly 03-29-2004 05:05 PM

As long as you're losing weight at what you're doing now, I wouldn't cut back at all...

Trazzie 03-29-2004 05:06 PM

I had some oomphh going on for a while, but I seemed to have lost it. If you do find some misplaced oomphh ..it is mine, please return promptly and a small reward will be given. Thank you!

lady_adnerb 03-29-2004 06:12 PM

We need to start a "missing oomph" box. Seems a lot of us are missing that. Any suggestions on where "oomph" could have gone?

StarPrincess 03-29-2004 06:19 PM

I've been reading that there's a world-wide shortage of oomph. We may have to figure out how to make it so we can sell it and thus pay for our tummy tucks, personal trainers, new wardrobes, and special pampering treats for ourselves.

Froufy 03-29-2004 10:01 PM

Just watching the news and I hear there was a major OOPMH sighting somewhere over Kansas? Stay tuned as I think they have abducted some humans and they may be sent back with extra rations of that ever popular oomph!

Froufy:)

lady_adnerb 03-29-2004 10:19 PM

Well dang. We're not in Kansas Toto!! Looks like we're out of oomph again.

Hey!! Where's the oompha loomphas??

Froufy 03-29-2004 10:31 PM

I believe you mean oompa loompa (loompa de do, I've got a special puzzle for you!)....but no ooomph!

Froufy :):):)

lady_adnerb 03-29-2004 10:34 PM

I feel like an oompa loompa some days. lol. Still w/out oomph though

Spedmom 03-30-2004 07:08 AM

Hi Brenda:

I agree with Leenie -- if your food intake is working for you right now, I wouldn't change it. If you check out the following link -- http://www.countcarbs.com/tools/index.htm -- you'll see that as you lose weight your basal metabolic needs (calories needed just to keep your body running) do decrease. What I've found is that it all evens out for me, however, because of the "oomph" factor. Lower weight generally translates into more energy. More energy translates into more calories needed to maintain that energy. I go through periods of total "oomphlessness" when I will bribe my daughter just to go upstairs to fetch something. Other than exercise, the only things that seem to help are taking my vitamins daily and trying to get enough sleep.

On a personal note, I am eating a few less calories now that I've increased carbs. I'm using light mayo instead of regular and bulking up on veggies instead of jerky.

lady_adnerb 03-30-2004 08:24 AM

UGH! I woke up at 5:00. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Probably not--cuz I went to the bathroom and went back to sleep. lol. So I oomph'd out.

So if I understand this correctly....as I get my metabolism started I need less to eat. So I SHOULD be eating less. Now to just figure out how to kickstart that baby!

Leenie 03-30-2004 08:43 AM

:o I got some ooomph last night ;) :p

StarPrincess 03-30-2004 10:55 AM

hehehe me too :s:

lady_adnerb 03-30-2004 12:20 PM

StarPrincess 03-30-2004 01:34 PM

lady_adnerb 03-30-2004 06:15 PM

:mag: Ok. Now that I look back at what I said I shouldn't have picked that last smiley. Jeesh!!! Didn't realise how that looked.

Spedmom 03-30-2004 06:59 PM

Oh lord, somebody throw some ice water on these babes!!!!

Mrs H 03-30-2004 10:43 PM

Geez.....You are a bunch of oomphidites!! Hope you all enjoyed getting oomph'd lol

lady_adnerb 03-31-2004 07:43 AM

Something was in the air!! I swear!! Wasn't my fault! I had every intention of going and exercising when I got "oomph"
