Shimma: hope all your tests turn out well/good. And glad to hear you don't have to go off program to have them done. I've got diet rite here, plus diet mt dew (for the kick start on days I need caffeine). I think I've had 2 Diet Mt Dew's since I've started Atkins--and had to choke them down because they were WAYY to sweet. lol I was bouncing all over the place w/the caffeine from one can though!
As for my rings: My DH bougth me a new sapphire ring for V-Day. I had to get it sized bigger because I didn't have an open finger. lol. Well, I DO, but they're going to be taken by the other TWO rings that I'm having made smaller for my pinkies. Those are sapphires also. Then the only finger left is my index fingers and then the thumbs---free ones that is. lol

StarPrincess: I've been trying to figure out how to take my youngest DD to the movie w/out having popcorn. After all, what's a movie w/out popcorn right? That may have to be an OP couple hours.

jane8760: congrats on the weight loss. I don't hop on the scale either. But I also no longer feel like throwing the scale out the door. I bought a digital because I thought the "regular" one was broke. Sure had a wake-up call for me!

hillary29:Congrats on the weight loss. It must be great to lose weight so fast Good luck on finding a cool outfite--let us know!

Hmm...Spring?? Where? I can tell by the weather we're having right now. But that's all goingto change to sleet and heavy snow!!! Maybe that'll be the last of the crappy weather we get and then go into spring??? PLEASE??? lol. One more day and it's FRIDAY!!!!! WOOHOOO!!! I decided I'm going right after work to the jewelers and see if my rings are done. If not, it'll be ok. Cuz the Fed. taxes are supposed to be in our savings account. THAT will make up for it. lol

Are you all having a good day??

Afternoon ladies,

Been a bit MIA, just another tonsil infection so been sleeping alot and yummy antiseptic mouthwash, happy day! But aside from the inability to exercise everything's dandy. And considering I get these things about 4 times a year I'm fairly used to all the ozzing and nastiness.

Catbird, welcome, and congrats on the weight already, look forward to watching and cheering on your progress.

Leenie, I have a potted tulip in my living room, wishful thinking maybe?

Brenda, so happy for you about your rings, it's always nice when they have to get adjusted, downwards of course. And yeha for you back on induction, I'm pulling for you over here and know you're going to do it!

Shimma, I hope the tests come back negative but if they don't at least you're already eating the way you need to, to keep the symptoms at bay, nice head start. My friend who started low carb recently has now lost 17lbs and her symptoms are already diminishing although she has much more to lose than yourself.

Hillary, YAY!! almost to ONEerland. Out of all the milestones so far, that one was by far the most emotional, I cried in the bathroom for god knows how long. I think it will end up being my second favourite of all time, next to my goal of course, there may be no consoling me for days after that one. Let us know the minute you hit it, we need to organize a parade

Jane, you got the power girl, WTG! Keep the streak alive, 2 days leads to 3, then 4 and OMG look at that hot momma!

Star, you have a fantastic guy there, that even made me laugh on the other side of the continent. I too totally forgot about the profile pictures, I couldn't stand looking at my avatar as a picture (still adjusting to the body ) but the profile is a great idea and I don't have to look at it! I will get on that tout suite.

Had a bit of a fight with the scale this morning, it stopped at 169, then slid up to 170! Darn thing is toying with me again! It's very close though, I'm so used to stalling every 10lbs that I didn't even expect to be moving so quickly, maybe tomorrow, the next day or whenever but I'm coming for the 160's so they better watch out.

to everyone who comes later.

Jina--I love reading "monster posts" and happen to be a book writer when it comes to posting myself lately. lol. I'm not sure about the cravings that caffeine has on people, but didn't they say it "could" cause stalls? I don't have my book on me either otherwise I'd look it up. Hmm..I'm hoping to get into a bikini this summer Of course, I wore one last year but w/a HUGE tank top over the top. I couldn't find a suit I liked so I just grabbed a bikini and a tank top and away I went. Nobody could tell. THIS year I'm hoping to buy a 2 piece..but maybe the kind w/the shorts? Or skirts? I'm gonna try and talk hubby into getting me the pilates tapes. I have the order form in a book. lol

Tummy: Hi there!! Glad you're starting to feel better!!! I usually go every year with ear infections. Those things are a royal pain--no pun intended Is there any way to prevent your throat infections?

(oops. there I went rambling again).

Hi Everyone,
All this talk about iron in vitamins has made me curious. I now take Centrum and I noticed it contains 18mgs.. oye.. so I go to walgreens last night and I found ONE vitamin that doesnt contain iron, for women 50+. Yes it's so nice to live in a small town and get such a wide selection of items. So after I finish these up I suppose thats what I'll have to live with.

My entire body is just achin from my bout with Richard Simmons the day before last If thats not an eye opener.. must get more exercise.

Today the sun is shining and it is just wonderful outside! Yup.. I SMELL SPRING!! (lets just hope that freezing rain or that 1 to 3 inches of snow misses us) I'm really anxious to get out the bike and start riding it to work. Every little bit helps right?

Sorry I don't have time for individul greetings, I want to try to squeeze a quick workout in before the schoolbell rings.

You all have a fantastic day!

jdoggmartin: I used to belong to Curves. I am going to be totally honest here and hope no one is bothered by my opinion.......
I liked it at first because I felt it was doable....really doable. You went in and did your exercise in only 30 minutes....what could be better than that. And you hardly broke a sweat. Then my joints started hurtin. If you haven't been there yet the key to the exercises is to do them as fast as you can for 30 seconds then move onto a jogging pad for 30 seconds then onto the next machine. It is so fast and jerky that I think my joints were paying the price. I also got bored just going around and around the room.
The woman that owned the one that I went to was nice enough but I don't think she knew a thing about the body. She just danced around the room keeping everyone motivated. Now I know that that can be good but I would have liked someone who understood muscles and the inpact the machines where having on my joints.
And I also didn't lose a single pound while I was going there.....I think 3 months and I was dieting at the same time. I didn't lose inches either! I know, muscle blah, blah, blah. But still

Ok, I suggest you take the 1 week free trial and see for yourself. You may love it.

This was just one girls opinion.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, the test is on Monday (another day off work) and then I have no idea when I'll get the results back.
Tummy, I'm glad you're feeling better!

I've been running around like mad all afternoon trying to get a bazillion things done... and I've decided I need a break. So, I'm just going to sit here and grade papers the rest of the day! I keep telling myself that tomorrow is FRIDAY, but I've been so busy today that I believe tomorrow is going to be more of the same. That's what I get for being gone a couple of days.

Star, what your DH did was adorable.... what a catch.
Brenda.... I swear it felt like spring this morning... cold... but I could FEEL it coming. Maybe it just hasn't made it to your neck of the woods just yet.

Jina - I don't go to curves, but my mother does and she loves it. I'm not sure if she's lost pounds, but she has lost inches and she feels tons better. Taking Jane's experiences into account, maybe you should check out your local Curves before joining. Since it's a franchise, you'll want to make sure yours is better staffed than Jane's. The staff where my mother goes seem to be very knowledgable.

Tummy - you poor girl! I used to get tonsil infections all the time, too. It was bad enough that when my dr finally decided I could have them removed (I'd begged for years) the things were permanantly swollen to the size of golf balls. My 45 minute surgery lasted 2 1/2 hours because they'd been swollen for so long, they'd attached around the sides and back of my throat. Yuck! Have the damn things removed!

My DH is pretty adorable, isn't he? I'm planning a big huge surprise for his birthday. His mom lives in WY and he hasn't seen her since our wedding almost 3 years ago, so I'm conspiring to get him off work and fly us out there for the weekend of his birthday. The plan is for him to not know until the morning we leave when I wake him up and tell him to pack his bags. He won't know where we're going until we get to the airport. His birthday isn't until July, so I think that's enough time to plan it!

Star, how did you finally convince them to rip them out? My doctor just won't as I'm too old but for crying out loud this is ridiculous, everytime I go in he just says it will pass, he is an otherwise fantastic doctor and I would never go to anyone else, any hints? Profile pics all up and go to go now!

Tummy - your current pic is FABULOUS!!! Wow - what pretty eyes! I finally gave up on my normal doc and went to a ear/nose/throat specialist because I was having problems breathing, talking, and swallowing. He said (this is an exact quote here) "those are the ugliest tonsils I've ever seen". I was in misery for about 2 weeks after the surgery because of the amount of cutting they had to do, but the bliss I've enjoyed ever since has been well worth it.

Maybe you should just demand it. Tell you doc that you're sick of the constant infections and you want the suckers GONE!!!

My dh had his tonsils and adenoids removed at age 24 and it was the best thing he ever did....no more infections, no more snoring - it took about 1 week to heal.

Still here everyone and still reading your posts and still unable to keep up with everyone's news. I cannot wait for my 6 min ab machine to be delievered tomorrow....my low hanging belly is just killing me lately. As I am losing weight it is dropping further down since there is no puffy fat to hold it up anymore...now it slaps against me as I walk I feel a little bad today because a woman at the bank yesterday asked me when I was due and I said "June 2002.....she's beautiful". My dd was with me and giggled - but the poor woman was mortified. I told her not to feel bad I am so used to it....but I guess I shouldn't have made her feel so uncomfortable - it's my own fault - not hers!!!!

Hope everyone continues to do well...I miss Fullfig and Supersized and Jamie and Angel Eyes and so many others....
