How does the math work?
One of you brilliant people has got to know the answer to this!
If 1 gram of carb = 4 calories, 1 gram of protein = 4 calories 1 gram of fat = 9 calories Then how can a product (Splenda, for example) have 0 calories and 1 gram of carbs? Wouldn't that mean it actually has 4 calories? |
Well, it actually, technically, has <1g of dietary carbs per packet, but on Atkins, we have to count it as 1 because of its properties as an aritifical sweetener combined with the <1g. carbs in the powder... I think.
My sleep-deprived interpretation... Have to think on it some more... |
Splenda *does* have 4 calories, they just get to round down :)
|
At what point does a company get to round down the caloric value of their product? How confusing!
