Friday-

Doing pretty well today. Trying to mix things up a bit. Got up and made dinner for dh.

Dh's dinner- broccoli w/ bacon and cheese
casserole dish layered with tomatoes, sauteed portabello mushrooms, ham and then a layer of cheese baked on top.
(Didn't even nibble on his*so proud of self*)

My brkfst- 3 slices salami w/ cream cheese

snack- 4 pcs pork rinds

lunch- roasted chicken breast w/ 2cups cucumbers and 1 tbsp dip

dinner- Not sure about dinner. Not slightest bit hungry so it's hard to plan that far ahead.

dessert- jello w/ cool whip or Atkins ice cream bar

Gotta eat the veggies!! Drinking the water!!!

Chow down ladies! No other WOE allows us to love what we eat at much as this and LOSE weight! We are the queens of Atkins.

Froufy:cool:

P.S. to Jamlin: if on induction you may want to avoid the ice cream bars - also cool whip does have sugar in it....better choice is to buy some heavy whipping cream and whip it up with some splenda or sf syrup.....also dh's dinner sounds great - but it also looks to be atkins legal and friendly - no reason why you can't share with him! :)

Jamlinrich 11-07-2003 11:57 AM

Thanks Froufy, I was wondering how something can have 0 carbs and still have sugar in it. Hmmm. Yeah, hubby's meal was Atkins friendly because he was claiming there wasn't anything good to eat and you can't eat vegetables with this WOE. So I wanted to show him. One of my biggest hardspots is that I am not a huge veggie fan and am trying (key word here) to like them or at least giving them the benefit of the doubt. I didn't eat with him because I wasn't in the mood for a heavy meal like his dinner for my breakfast. I might have it for leftovers with eggs when I get up.

I think I'm going to take your advice on the whipped stuff though. What is the consensus on sf jello? Is that okay on induction?
Thanks.

StarPrincess 11-07-2003 12:11 PM

Jamie - always read your labels. Jello is probably ok depending on what is used to sweeten it. If it's sugar alcohols, then no. If it's splenda, then yes. I can not stress this enough - always read the labels! And not just the nutritional info, but the ingredient list as well. More and more I'm coming across products that list low carbs but when I read the ingredients, there's sugar alcohols and a little note that they were not included in the total carb count. Be very aware of what you're putting in your mouth. :)

End of lecture. :^:

StarPrincess 11-07-2003 01:09 PM

I go to changs or gengis khan (since it's across the street and I can walk there) Mongolian is the best and easiest thing I can do if I want to eat out, stick to my plan, and not pay outback prices :)
