Hi I am doing AIP and have been for a couple of years, but still finding my sweet spot. I still have issues in regards to binging. Whenever I eat fruit, I tend to binge and feel tired. I have gone through re-intro periods as well. Eggs are ok. Cocoa and nuts are not. I have recently recommitted to weight loss. Currently my weight is 87kg and my goal is 75
kg

Hi Finally Free! I'm doing atkins while also counting calories.

MindoverMatter80 07-24-2016 12:42 PM

Hi Finallyfree (& everyone else). I just found Butter Bob because of lurking around the OMAD posts... he's not saying anything new but its always nice to hear from someone who has been through it rather than a doctor who talks about the science of things but has never had a weight issue themselves.
I'm currently LCHF but because of Dr. Jung and Butter Bob, I'm seriously considering adding IF to the mix. I already fast some days (but only sporadically when the mood strikes) because I've always believed in fasting as being healing for me...implementing it in a consistent and regimented manner however, well I mean to do it but I want to feel completely ready first =) I plan to lurk here and definitely post once I start adding IF to the mix successfully! Thanks for starting this thread. Good luck to everyone!! =)

Aw righty, FF, I'll join ya! Although I've been a weight-loss Zombie recently...kind of in an aimless mindset....failing to plan and planning to fail, and all...

I did a 2.5 day fast almost two weeks ago, and I could feel some benefits from it, and I hope plan to incorporate a longer fast into my "routine". As you can probably tell, I desperately need to get a routine established again.

OK...we'll start out easy again...let's try for an 8 hr window...had some breakfast at 9ish today, so the kitchen will be closed at 5.

SeeMyFeet 07-26-2016 10:02 AM

Oh! And can we try to post daily in this thread? Successes, failures, jokes, etc... I could use some support and diversion...(not criticism, though...I give enough of that to myself)...

FinallyFree 07-26-2016 06:26 PM

OMG! So glad to see you all! Feet, sweet,,,,!!!! yes we will do this!

Well I did lose back down to siggy of 170 and it was with a combinataion. I get meat fatigue with zero, so I switched to AIP, love them veggies with a little (and I mean little) fasting and wham!!!! 170. Next stop 160 something!

Hello Lena, so glad to see another AIPer. It immediately makes me feel better, so I think I will mostly be doing this with IF, but throwing in Keto and Zero to stir things up. I am hoping my only real food allergies are with the night shades but some folks say no grains with autoimmune seems to help most folks.....Glad to have you aboard,,,,you will find your happy diet place
;)

I also really believe in the healing benefits of fasting. Plus I feel more brain power,
LCHF seems to really work with fasting. Butter Bob seems like such a down to earth nice person, and he was able to say things in a way that brought it home for me about the insulin resistance. This is really ground breaking news for folks. I am seeing people lose who have struggled for years and years and now are feeling better and losing weight. I am feeing better,,,,so much better with my AIP and using it with the Zero and Keto and fasting as needed,,,,,I believe I will be one of those folks......:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Yes, Yes, and I sure hope so!

Here's a neat vid I found from Butter Bob about exercise.

When I re-introduced nuts, it seems they don't make me tired, but I tend to eat way toooooo many. So I am going to avoid buy them for a while until I lose more. I do eat my 3 brazil nuts the doctor told me to eat for my thyroid, and really I sneak a few more in than I should. :o

Wannabehealthy 07-26-2016 07:19 PM

Are you buying unsalted nuts? I think it's the salt on the nuts that causes you to overeat them. Just my experience.

FinallyFree 07-26-2016 07:36 PM

Hi WannaBe!

Welll the pistachio nuts I had on vacation were not salted and I could eat a few and be fine, but Costco has these salt and pepper ones and The hubby and I knocked them off fast. I think there must be a salt connection...

SeeMyFeet 07-28-2016 09:38 AM

I guess I didn't save my last post....oh well...

I'm not doing well at all with weight loss and for some st:dizzy::dizzy:pid reason, I'm having bread with my eggs for breakfast. And I picked up a sandwich for lunch yesterday :tantrum:. Healthy eating otherwise, but food choices that don't promote weight loss (for me), and eating windows that are too long. My stretches between meals are 5-7 hours, so I end up eating breakfast early and snack/dinner late. Angry emojis here, but the anger only comes around the next day...the day of, I'm just tired and not hopeful about weight loss.

My focus is divided by the home decluttering bandwagon I'm on, and lots of work stress... some guys are involved in a bit of nasty misappropriation involving equipment that was purchased and used by me and my group. Spent a sweaty day retrieving it from an auction house. It's easy to predict the future on this one: these guys won't even have a finger shaken at them, and I'll end up with the bad reputation .....men ...ugh... Anyway.... Excuses don't melt fat, so time to pull up my fat girl panties, stop smh, cryin' in ma beer, etc and just get on with it....

MonteCristo 07-28-2016 10:07 AM

Sorry, y'all. Forgot about this thread. :o

Had a major bump in my Atkins journey. Came down sick with some kind of flu-like thing. Could not face eating meat or fat or anything remotely atkins appropriate. So I ate crackers. Lots and lots of crackers and diet 7-up. Luckily (haha) I was so sick that I ended up losing a bunch of weight anyway. I was also coming off TOM so I'm sure that played in, but I dropped about 3lbs in 4 days. Got back on track yesterday, but couldn't face anything more adventuresome than cream cheese. So that's all I ate all day. An 8oz pkg of cream cheese. Had bologna for breakfast today and that went ok. Hopefully I do as well with the meatloaf and green beans at lunch.

I've been having weird out-of-the-blue hives on my hands and/or feet lately, and I think I've finally nailed down the culprit. Diet soda. So not only does it stall my weight loss, it also turns me into a giant itchy mess. Great. :(

MonteCristo 07-28-2016 07:22 PM

Well I fell off the wagon, and rolled all the way down a hill. :( Felt awful when I got home (not 100%, then had to work on a/c units at a couple of my houses) so I did my usual feel better move...ordered a pizza. The only redeeming piece of information is that I didn't even enjoy it and only had a couple pieces. At least I know now that it doesn't really make me feel better. Maybe I'll be stronger next time. My own fault for not eating enough today, hunger makes me stupid and grumpy. My net carbs are like 100 (:o) but at least my calories are still within my goals. Back on the wagon for me!

FinallyFree 08-15-2016 07:20 PM

Hi Monte,

Well I think I saw you rolling down the hill I was on. Yep! I fell off the wagon too. I've been having company and they are such a bad influence. I did discover sweet potato chips and they are good.

But starting fresh tomorrow.

FinallyFree 08-22-2016 08:00 PM

Well Hi All,

I'm really truly back in the ring, ready to get this WOE going again. Man I'm ready.....

Today is and AIP day featuring turkey burgers in turkey broth with onion, and carrots and beets baked with bacon grease on the side. I'm gonna try and fit into a 6 hour window today.

souvenirdarling 10-16-2016 02:00 PM

Hi everyone. I've come back from holidays a little heavier than I'd like, major sleep and eating style disruption. I'm going to be resetting my system with whole30/ keto/intermitent fasting and all the rest and all the best stress-management work I can muster. Probably only a bit of muscular workout moves here and there while I adjust to this WOE. I saw a great "Big Think" video on youtube about weightloss, and winter" for the body that got me inspired and thinking of doing something different from strategies I've had before.
