Hello! I am trying Sugar Busters along with clean eating to get my blood sugars and weight under control. Anyone else using this lifestyle approach? If so, I'd love to connect for some accountability.
I haven't been here that long myself. I was just recently diagnosed with TYPE 2 so instead of ignoring it I decided to make a change. I don't want to depend on Insulin in the future like my parents. I am basically trying to avoid carbs all together. I eat Meats, Fish, Salads, when I want cheese I do Monterrey Pepper Jack(no carbs). The only sugar I have is a small glass of Lipton Decaffeinated Tea with Sugar in the Raw in it. I am basically following the Atkins Diet and I just finished Phase 1 and now can have a small portion of fruit. Once in a while(like once a week) I sneak a girl scout cookie, surprisingly the Samoans are very low carbs(18 carbs per 2 cookies). It keeps me satisfied. Along with all of that Water, Water, Water and like 30 minutes a day of workout. I am also moving so that keeps me busy too.
So far since I was diagnosed I have lost 9lbs and my BS ranges from 80 to 100, with a few small spikes once in awhile. (girl scout cookie) hehehe It was 190 when I first saw my Doctor. I dont get headaches anymore, I don't feel tired during the day. I feel so much better and I FINALLY have the strength and will power to do this!
