It is OK! Hit restart and keep going! 1 1/2 hours late isn't that bad, you will get the hang of it soon enough ! I thought you were going to say you ate a batch of cookies or pint of ice cream You did great!

I hate that we don't have Kroger in FL, so I use Chobani greek plain and add flavors and sweetner for 1/2 cup. It will come hang in there.

I will hit restart tomorrow. tonight I am givin my metformin a whirl.

I am a bad bad girl. -sigh- having some long john silvers. We are seeing how well the MEtformin works. It's supposed to do the same thing, block the liver and pancreas from making insulin. let's see how it works Cause one day won't kill me and I got no one to blame but myself so it's all good. Head back in the game tomorrow.

I am being a naughty girl, but I figure..
1) Gotta see how my metformin works
2) Hitting restart tomorrow.

I am having a small sized portion of Long John Silvers.

It's all fine though. Gonna keep plugging along.

I do not doubt that your metformin will work fine.
Just a note to consider: That is is masking the issue, but if you do this diet, it is suppose to Change you body metabolism, which is much better than using a drug to fix an underlying issue but the drug not change the issue, like the diet could.

I hope you will be able to see changes soon from the diet and be able to give up the metformin completely at some point.

BTW, I love Long John's ... don't blame you for that. She does say 1 or 2 off days a week won't derail the whole thing, so be encouraged, tomorrow is another day, you can do it!

Oh, well then I feel so much better about that then.

My Doc has me on the Metformin for 3 months and we will take another blood panel and see how it went. I am sure being on this diet through out will show some results for certain.

Although, I have to say that LJS was not a good idea in retrospec. My tummy lead a revolt against the offending food. Needless to say it was not pretty nor did it feel any prettier.

I know what you mean. I have taken very few "off plan" foods, but have done a few desserts as our family has lots of birthdays in a row while I have been on Step 1. The off plan times I took like a tablespoon of ice cream and cake, LITERALLY, and I didn't notice much except a bit tired. I decided to have a whole helping one time and after eating that ice cream cake I felt awful, really bad, so when that happens, it reduced the desire to repeat.

I made the soy pasta recipe but instead of rolling out and slicing up to dry, I dropped little bits into a pot of boullion. It was ok, not bad tasting and while the texture was different than dumplings it made me feel like I was eating bread in some way...lol.

Spent the day out of town yesterday , thankfully I took some walnuts with me. When we finally got around to stopping some place for dinner we went to Bd's Mongolian Grill. The best part was I did very good and didn't have to spend forever reading the menu trying to decipher if this is safe or not. I just grabbed my bowl and away I went. Managed a very tasty stir fry with acceptable foods.

Hey bettyboop, thanks for the tip. I have been unable to find that yogurt in my area but sooner or later it will get to us.

I haven't had Long John Silvers in years, it would be hard to resist though.

Hope everyone is having a great OP day !!

How is everyone? I had a busy week end, so jumping back in here, but don't have much time.

I did forget to say "congrats" on the looser work pants!! that is awesome!

Yesterday I was going to a family reunion briefly just to talk to friends and our family ended up staying for the meal even though I didn't bring food, which is extreme since there are 7 of us here at home now. But I DID do OK, there was 1 piece of chicken left which I took and 1 piece of cheese LOL ! I ate that and drank water. I am surprised how little people comment on what I eat. No one said anything. I just ate my chicken and drank water and stayed away from the dessert table! which was easier than trying to get away from a lady who wouldn't stop talking who I had never met before! lol!!

I start Step 2 in a week. Not sure how that will be. Kind of nervous to eat all those carbs!

This weekend was a bit of a bust.

It wasn't terrible, but I did have a mini oreo blizzard and a snickers ice cream bar on Saturday.

Yesterday we went to the renaissance fair I had a turkey leg, which was a good choice for certain. but then I had some fries and a Soda.

Then we went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner and had 1 1/2 tostadas I only ate the tops off, not the corn tortilla part.

It wasn't overly bad. I didn't do any damage, a pound of water from all the salt.

Back on the track today.

Rough week end for you, being away from home is hard. Good for you getting back on track today!

Has anyone tried the "Guilded Cinnamon Muffin" Recipe? I am doing it right now and it seems I either measured flour incorrectly or these are extremely stiff dough ... anyone know about that?

OK, ice cream is amazing! However I hate to be the one to tell you it isn't allowed on Step 1. I need to find it in the book. I don't have time right now.

On Step 2, it is but only if it has artificial sweeteners. I will have to find it in the book and post it here.

It is a bit confusing, but there are "low impact carbs" and "high impact carbs" and even though there is the right amount of carbs, if they are the "high impact" variety, they aren't allowed at all until Step 3 At least I think you can have SOME high impact for Step 3, I have not read Step 3 again, it will confuse me.

This is actually from Step 2
Since it says "welcome back ice cream" gives a STRONG impression that it was not allowed in Step 1.

Quote:
Welcome back ice cream (this is in Step 2). Look for ice creams that have sucralose (splenda) rather than sugar as the primary sweetener. Even if the net carb appears the same in sugar sweetened ice creams, the type of carbs is very different from that in splenda sweetened products. Sugar sweetened desserts digest quickly with a high impact that spikes blood glucose.
