I switched over from Atkins to this several months ago and have been having AMAZING results. It really works.

I love it so far. It is hard for me not eating fruiting but I am only a short 5&1/2 weeks away from eating fruit again. It will be so worth it to finally be free of this flab!

I just finished reading this book, and am very excited about it! The author says that although a person may have been able to lose weight by other methods previously, as metabolic syndrome sets in you won't be able to lose on anything but a lower carb plan - that's me to a T! I lost 20 lbs several years ago eating low fat (and I loved eating that way), but the weight has crept on and I just can't shift it while eating starchy carbs.
Interesting too about the liver releasing glucose every five hours whether you eat or not; I am the queen of meal-skipping. I'm very hopeful that this plan will be the answer for me. |
I just purchased this book over the weekend and I started today! I know I might be crazy since Thanksgiving is Thursday! But I figured its better to start now and not make excuses and put it off any longer.
Is there another thread that people have been using to keep track of accountablilty or express their experiences? |
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and usually don't post but I needed some support for this diet. I have been on it since november 10 and lost 14 lbs. I have lost some inches as well. It has been a challenge to not focus on weight only and more on fat loss. I am not giving up. Is this a good weight loss? Stormgirl |
Stormgirl you are doing great!

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how to put the little scale on the bottom, I can't seem to do that. I have been on Metabolism Miracle since 11/10 and started at 222.8 and now I am 209.8. I had hoped for more weight loss but I am feeling better and am walking 4-5 days a week for 30-40 minutes. I have been stuck at 209 for a while. Actually, when I got to two months 1/10, I was 206 and when I increased the carbs to 10 I gained a few pounds. The book said this would happen but I am trying to just keep going. The big changes is being invited out to dinner a few places, not giving in to foods I cannot eat and modifying what I eat. I called a ahead and went on website to restuarant chains to be sure I picked the right choice. This is better. I hope to get the 100 lbs I am seeking off sometime this year. One can hope. Hi I'm in the UK and jst started the MM diet.
I've done Atkins and it worked for me the first time but not after that. I know I have a problem with carbs so thought something else along those lines might help. I've also thought for some time that I needed a plan that restricted the at and oils too and this one seems to fit that bill. Anyway I'm ready to give it a try. Hows every one doing? Height 5ft1 and 184lbs  |

Still doing this?
I can't tell if this is me or not. I don't know if I have Metabolism B. I do have a huge struggle losing. I have decided to start South Beach, but maybe this would be better. Not sure. Dawn |
Here are the 3 ways metabolism works for you, so that you understand how the body burns calories.
* Basal metabolism - From 60 to 75 percent of calories you eat daily are spent keeping you alive and providing basic energy for life support. If you were to lie in bed all day, you would still need these calories to support basic body functions. * Physical activity - From 20 to 25 percent of your calories go to movement and physical activity such as sports, exercise, cleaning, walking, etc... * Thermal effect of food processing (Thermogenisis) - About 10 percent of calories are spent processing the food you eat. For example, if you eat 2000 calories a day, you should be burning 200 calories a day simply eating and digesting your food. |
My gradma just sent me this book. I am doing calorie watching now and have lost 35 lbs. I am thinking I may not need to do this diet since I don't have a problem losing wieght with diet and excercise. I think I have metabolism A. Is there anyone who did calorie counting and it worked for them but then trie mm?

Then I moved to the "mainland". (I was living in Hawaii) I got a desk job and was very inactive for most of the day except for when I excercised. I still had some weight to lose and figured it would keep coming off with the calorie counting. Well.... it didn't. I was so strict and the pounds didn't budge! I found this book right before I had a christmas party and followed it to a tee for about 3 weeks. Worked very well. Smallest I had been in years. Didn't weigh myself but you could really tell. Well then came the holidays and I fell off the wagon! I've been experimenting a lot lately with other reduced carb diets. Tried Belly fat cure and lost 4 pounds! but had a hard time keeping my carb servings under control. Now I'm just tracking cals, fat, carbs, protein, fiber, and sugar. I try to stay between 20-40 net carbs a day. And keep cals below my BMR. I have really thought about this hard over the last few days and I'm going to have to go back to MM! It is well structured and I do feel satisfied on it. It's better for me to have something a little more regimented than what I'm doing. I guess my whole point (sorry for the rant) if calorie counting is working great! But if you come to a point where you stall out you might want to give this a shot! Plus.... there is no counting like a maniac! You just have to keep track of your net carbs to make sure they don't go over 5 with the LC breads and other approved items! Good luck! :) |
Hi, I'm starting the MM on Monday now that I have read the book twice and marked pages and doable recipes for a vegetarian. I have a friend in Canada who is on day 9, I believe, and she is doing really well.
