Low Carb Is Working

  • I've been through the "ringer" with my intake. From diets galore to Medifast to my trainer trying 3 different % approaches with me. Finally back to low carb because it's what works and I'm happy to say the scale is moving again. I am going to be out of the 290s real soon. Can't wait to share when that happens. We can all er, be dancing...carrots, LOL
  • Congratuations JerseyGirl!!!! it's working for me too and I can't hardly believe it. I've also been through the ringer with different diets and what's so weird is I'm eating so much food but hardly getting any calories in for the day. I have to eat more food!! Go figure. When I was doing a low fat diet, I barely ate anything and had such a hard time keeping the calories low. I'll take this WOE anytime. Let's keep up the fight - we can do it.
  • I am with you guys! I love low carbing and losing weight! It's great to find a way of eating that works for you and helps you lose weight!! I can lose some weight on low calorie, but I keep craving chocolate. With Atkins, it's not that way at all - and when I do crave chocolate, I can eat the sugar free/fat free pudding cup and I am good to go!

DeeDee10 - I have the same problem of not eating enough each day!

Best of luck to you guys!
  • Sorry Mods for the misplacement of this. Was just letting my LWL friends know that. Also, I find many who lift are pro low carb for a reason.

So, today I was 290.6. Oh I can just about smell 289. It's coming, it's coming. That's 3lbs in 3 days. Should be 2-4lbs lbs a week I estimate. Good enough for me.

I was so thrilled to get out of the 300s and now each ten is a marker.

BTW, no Atkins for me. I just don't eat breads, rice, potatoes, etc., not even the "good version" and I eat all fruits and veggies at will. My calories vary, but I still lose no matter how much I eat and I am never hungry.
  • Hey JerseyGirl69, Congrats on the weight loss!!! I'm so happy for you. I'm not doing the official Atkins plan either but and I still post on the low carb site. I consider my WOE low carb because I'm not eating the white foods you described in your post and it's working for me and I'm losing weight I don't think it really makes a difference where you post your success stories because everyone is so happy you are having success. Keep up the good work!
  • Mine's "low carb" because of the % of carbs=<25%
  • Congratulations! Low Carb does work and your letting the world know! This is my second time doing Atkins, (I gained back after opeining a resteraunt, gotta make sure it tastes right! Sigh ) But the first time I did Atkins, I lost 100 plus in 9 months. If I can do it, anyone can!

I just put up a great article I found on New Year's Resolutions that works for dieting too. Check it out.
  • Welcome Everyone!

I've been inspired by your posts already . . . believe me I've been needing some motivation after the carb-fog holidays I've been in!

    Rolling myself in:
  • I am with ya girls and so I begin this journey. I did low carb ALONG time ago and lost 8lbs in one week. We are taking a big family trip in April and I really want to lost some weight. I am anxious to get to know everyone!!

    Good luck!
  • Hiya Jim!!
  • Hi... I'm new to this thread and I'm wanting to start dieting again. I had trouble last year due to insulin resistance that I didn't know I had. I'm supposed to go on a low carb diet and hopefully this will help me lose. I could use some motivation and HOPE! It's great to read about ya'alls weight loss.
  • My "insulin resistance" was never diagnosed, just what I believe was happening due to elevated blood sugar and an inability to lose weight eating reduced calories. LC is the only thing that works for me.
