I just realized I have three weeks until August 16th, aka my big senior photo shoot. So 21 days... if I count the two days before that would be 23 days- is that too long to stay on induction?
I want to be a light as I can! I also have a physical for cross country that week so the doctor will be weighing me... Just checking to see if 3 weeks is too long! |
You doing a great job punceZ on recognizing the things that could be bothering you and posting on how to solve/identify them! That's the best thing about 3fc - it's like journalling or something - only with others jumping on in and helping, ya know? I'm always amazed when I write about something going on with me here and as I type - whatever the deal is (work stress/hub stress/aspartame/sugar alcohols WhatEVAH) and the answers become so obvious OR I'll be really stumped and some 3fc sistahs will point something out. Tx chicks!
I don't think there's a problem with staying on Induction if you're taking your vitamins/water etc. R&R. Not sure though. Eating literally what I posted for yesterday - saved it all up in my lil office fridge. (Went OFFplan at a Going Away Party last nite but determined to shake it off and Mooooove On, Auddie!:carrot:) |
Hey guys!
I am new to the Atkins boards, but not new to 3FC :) I gained some weight when I started traveling for work about 9 months ago (not too much, just a couple of pounds), but I really want to get to my original goal weight of 138. It was too hard for me to stick to calorie counting when I go out to eat for every meal...and I always ended up feeling bloated and yucky. I read the Atkins book and started the diet and made it through the first two weeks..but it was too hard to deny myself stuff I love (apples, salad, etc.) I remember feeling so good though, even though I definitely craved carbohydrates. I decided to start again but allow myself a few more carbs (a little bit of fruit, some high fiber cereal here and there) and know that I won't loose as much weight right away. If anyone does a similar type of modified Atkins, I would love to hear your advice!! Thanks :) Michelle |
Thanks Aud, I did try to get out of the inlaw thing to save myself some stress, but it looks like I'll just have to suck it up.
RR, I think you should be fine on induction for three weeks, I was on for longer than that in the beginning and I felt fine. Michelle, Welcome. I personaly believe that cutting out the simple carbs and prosesed foods is the most important. You should still lose with the fruit and the whole grains, it may just take a little longer. lots of people modify it to some degree so it suits them. Good luck losing those last few, You have done so well already! |
RR, I did induction for about 5 months.....only side effect was weightloss :D
|
5 months?? Wow! Thats some serious will power! I love berries way too much for that :p
I am .4 pounds lighter than yesterday so that means 4 days on atkins and 5 lbs dropped. I am so surprised at this! I figured I would lose 5 the first two weeks if I was lucky *knocks on wood just in case* I am .4 pounds away from the big 20 lbs lost! |
IA that Atkins can be tweaked lots of ways to suit many tastes and lifestyles. Just got to decide what you want and how fast you want to get there. The emphasis, I think, is to eat the meats we evolved gnawing on and the vegetables we scarfed on when they were in season. Anything that became processed in the late 1800's - dawn of the 20th century are things that our bodies weren't programmed to metabolize. (Milled flour and cane sugar--read the labels!LOL!;)) Maybe a few million years from now the human body will breeze thru Kraft Macaroni 'n Cheese (It's the CHEESIEST!;)) - but, sadly, not at this time.
I'm off for a Super Saturday - full of energy - but trying to remember to Water Up on days off - ttyal!:carrot: |
I ate Dannon low carb yogurt yesterday night and it was SOO good!!
I step on the scale this morning and I 'gained' .4 pounds. No yogurt today and then I will see what the scale says tomorrow. It was really good but I really want to hit my goal and can't be stalled! today is day 6- it went by so fast! |
R & R you should not "sweat" the gain that could easily be a glass of water. 1 gal of water is 7 lbs so a glass is about that. so if you had a bit of fluid do not worry. when you should worry is when you see no loss if a week or two A(like me!!!) then you need to regroup and see what you are eating. which is my plan today.
|
So you don't think the 3 carb yogurt put me off? I am just trying to pay attention to my body and see what works and what doesnt. I must admit I am a bit 'backed' up right now so I am not worried too much about the gain. I think I know what it is haha
|
RocknRoll, when I'm "backed up", I can easily go up 3 or 4 lbs.
Ok ladies, my lab. pup has again outsmarted me. I told you all of the very hard work we've done digging a trench and putting a concrete wall all the way around our fence to keep this puppy in the yard. She still kept getting out and I couldn't figure how. She's not big enough to jump the fence and I don't see anywhere she's dug under the concrete wall, (It's a foot deep). Well, I'm on to her now. LOL, I looked outside and saw where we had left a ladder against the fence when we climbing over to dig the trench. I caught her redhanded running up the ladder and jumping over. DUH. I moved the ladder. Now I'll see what the little houdini thinks of next. |
Lily, that's a SMART dog! As in scary smart. When she grows up, look out! Observant dogs open doors and gates and refrigerators.
