Down another size!

I just have to post this, because I've been so frustrated with myself and even a small victory I feel like shouting from my rooftop! I've been struggling with ALOT of post pregnancy weight. I did Atkins for awhile, which dropped weight pretty fast, but wasn't how I wanted to eat for life, so I've been counting my calories for a few months now with VERY slow success, and August 1st joined my local gym. Since then I had only lost 3 pounds, and was starting to get disappointed that all of the extra effort I was expending working out on top of my calorie restriction wasn't yielding much of a result on the scale.

But when I weighed myself this morning, I had lost another 2 pounds :carrot: . It took me the entire month of August to lose the same amount I lost last week!

Since I was feeling pretty good about it, I decided to dust off a pair of size 12 shorts from the closet-and they fit! I was so excited I made the 2 hour round trip to Walmart (I live in BFE) just to buy a new pair of Levi's.

Thanks to everyone here for all the support and advice I've been getting along the way-it would be so hard to stick with this without it:hug:

Congratulations! Yay for you. I have no idea where "BFE" is but glad you rewarded yourself with the trip to WalMart for some new Levi's!!! :)

YAY! Congratulations on the progress!!! I've really been struggling the last few weeks to lose and was starting to resent how slow it is on calorie counting. Like you I've been busting my butt with exercise and calorie counting and I too was comparing it to my rapid loss on Atkins. Your post reminds me that I am still doing this one pound at a time and that permanent change takes time... Congrats again and thanks for posting this!

Congratulations!!! :woo:

Like the say, nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

I haven't been out shopping to see what size I really am, but I have had two pairs of slacks taken in by the tailors! It sure feels good to do that!

I've set my goal of losing 4 pounds in September, I'm hoping to see a change tomorrow (I had kind of an off day yesterday, but I didn't gain any weight--so I hope to see a drop tomorrow).

Thanks so much for all the congrats, ladies:D I get alot of encouragement here, not only from the posts on these threads, but seeing everyone else's progress reminds me when I'm discouraged that this CAN be done. Especially stories like yours, Gina! I just looked at your before and after pics and you look great!
Tinabab-girl, do I know how you feel! I lost 30 pounds in 2 months doing Atkins, and while that SOUNDS great, it's also kinda scary, not to mention the fact that I was miserable and had some undesirable side effects. Despite all that, I've been tempted more than once to do it again just to see results, but I'm glad I haven't. I don't think I will be able to keep this weight off in the long run if I don't learn to do it the right way, and I know I can't Atkins For Life.
BEYOND the boondocks is right-I live in Morenci, Arizona-it's a small mining town. It's about 3 1/2 hours from Tucson. The closest "city" and Walmart is Safford-it's 45 miles from me and has a population of about 10,000 people. BFE is an understatement, but if you've ever been to Arizona, you already know that pretty much everywhere but Phoenix and Tucson IS BFE.
BTW-fellow Avon Rep here, Amber!
