Fitdaypc calorie calculations

  • Okay now I got a question or I am going crazy but on FitdayPC. Every time you record a 2lb loss for example, does fitdaypc recalculate your calories that you need to be taken in to lose weight? I thought it did and I am at a loss here to find where it was at.
  • On FitdayPC, if you go to the Activities Log, look at the bottom and click on the Metabolism tab. The Baseline BMR will adjust automatically as you lose weight. My baseline has dropped 43 points (calories) to reflect an 8 pound loss between mid-February and now.

Oh, it also adjusts how many calories you burn in activities based on your weight at the time of doing the activity. Let's say, for example, you burned 4 calories/minute by walking at 3.0mph. Then you lost 10 pounds. It now takes less energy to move your body, so instead of 4 calories/minute, you're burning 3.95 calories/minute. FitdayPC does that calculation for you, so no extra math to worry about! Just keep the weight log current and FitdayPC will make the necessary adjustments.

Hope that was the info you were looking for.
  • Thank you Lena! That was Huge help. So glad this fitdaypc does all the math!
  • I psid the money for the fitdaypc...I like the online version better!! Am I missing something here??? I find the pc version harder to record
  • I felt exactly the same way for about the first week or so, then I just started to "get it". Can you pinpoint what irks you about it? I made some notes of what I wasn't thrilled with at first. Maybe they are some of the same things, or maybe there are workarounds.

There are still things I wish were different (like, we can't post a link to the PC version). But for me, the plusses ended up way outweighing the negatives. I really like (most of) it!

Something I've done to help me test things out is setting up another dummy account in FitDay PC. I can go in there & make changes in things like weight to see how it affects things without worrying about messing up my information. If you click on File tab>New Account & follow the steps. Sometimes its hard to see a change with only a 2 pound loss, but you should definentely see differences when you change your weight more.

Did you play around with the view on the PC version? It took me a couple days to find that tab & get everything the way I like- I felt like I was missing half the program until I did that. I like that I can keep my food log up while looking up foods- that drove me crazy in the on-line version. You can also chose what info you want it show at the bottom of your food log- for me I like the Weight Goal one since it gives tons of info- calories, calories used, calories & % from fat/protien/carb, fiber, etc, along with what my goal is for each. I'll occasionally switch to the Nutrion view to check how I'm doing for the day on various vitamins or the food breakdown so I can see if I'm getting too many calories in certain meals. The reports are a lot easier to use & I love being able to click on the calender to see what my average calories for the week has been & how many days I've exercised without even having to go into reports. Even the weight page has more info right there- I can enter my weight & then at the bottom I can chose to have a 1, 2, 4, 6 month or 1 year or All graph of weights along with data on how much I've lost in that time frame & projected weight loss for 4 & 12 weeks.
  • I had pretty much loved everything about it since I got Fitdaypc. I like the graphs and that it does the math for me

( even though every now and then I will do the math to see if it is even close to what it is saying)

The only thing that corks me up about it is you can’t upload your data into Fitday on the web

the other thing that gets on my nerves is I like to print out the information from fitdaypc but it doesn't print everything out.

Like the Weight goal Status it has graphs and number readings but when I print it out in the calories vs burn under goals it will print something like
1,7..... and does not print the rest of the numbers out like you see on the screen. I like to print information on progress, I have chosen a special wall to look over my progress and pictures.

Okay! I used a bad example. I knew when I started Fitdaypc it had said something about being at 238Lbs eat about 1,854 calories for almost a 2 lb loss. Well now I am weighing around 224LB so I figure there has got to be some change to what I should be taken in by now and I needed to check into that. Then I de sha vue!! I thought I seen that information some where but I couldn't find it. PANIC!!!! I couldn't figure out if I actually seen it in fitdaypc or seen the numbers some where else.
The table looked familiar once again though. Thanks to Lena.

The dummy account sounds like a great idea though! I may try that out.
  • You can use Print Screen key to copy every thing on the screen to your clipboard & then paste into Paint, crop & print.

I cheat & use a freeware program called MWSnap- I can drag a box around just what I want & it copies to my clip board...paste it into a document & print I even use it on some of the things were it would print a full page with only a little bit of info on it- I'd rather get as much as I can on one page when I print the off
