Where's the website that tells,

  • does anyone know of a website that will tell you how many calories you should be consuming for weight loss? I know there's one out there i just cant find it! thanks!- kim
  • You could try Fitday.com...
  • well i did that and it doesnt have somekind of a calculator that will tell you exactly how many calories you should be consuming for weight loss that's what im looking for
  • well if you go by the calorie queens book it is 12 x the weight you want to be so if I were to want to weigh 150lbs I would take 12x150 and that would be 1800 calories.
  • Or you can put your normal diet into fitday and just try cutting back. For instance if you are maintaining on 2300 cals per day. If you cut the 500 per day that adds up to 3500 for a pound a week, you should try 1800 cals per day.
I can clarify that if it doesn't make sense
  • caloriesperhour.com is a fun one to play with. It has several nutrition calculators. Even one that will tell you how many calories to consume to loose a certain amount of weight by a certain date. Just don't count on any calculator to be 100% accurate. As long as your using them as guidelines to get started and stay focused they are great tools.

    Good Luck.
  • Cyberdiet has a Nutrition Profile on the front page. It will calculate your cals based on age, sex, frame size, and activity level, and you can calculate for anything from gaining to maintainting to losing 1/2-2lbs a week.
  • We have a Daily Calorie Needs Calculator right here at 3FC! Once you determine your daily calories needed to maintain, simply subtract 500 calories from your daily requirement for one pound of weight loss per week and 1000 calories for two pounds. All calculators are only guesstimates, of course, but can be a good place to start.
