Calorie counting app suggestions?

Good morning!
Does anyone have recommendations for a good calorie counting app for android?
Thanks so much!!

I have an android and I personally use SparkPeople. It gives you a range of calories (although you can edit the range if you need to eat more, like I do), and it also gives you your macros for the day. You can also track your exercise, water intake, and weight loss on there. Plus there's almost every kind of food you can think of on that app, so you can look up the specific product. At first you input your information and your goal weight, and then it gives you a time frame in which it's possible to lose that weight. I've also heard good things about MyFitnessPal, which has many of the same features.

Can anyone compare Sparkpeople to MyFitnessPal? I'm using MFP but I'm not thrilled with it. I need a good database for UK foods, and a good way of accessing favourite foods and recipes.

MyFitnessPal lets you create recipes and save them, which is a useful feature Sparkpeople doesn't have. But I prefer Sparkpeople because you can scroll down and see your macros, it has a more complete database for exercise, and it gives you a range of calories rather than one calorie goal that is usually way too small. You can also edit that calorie range, as well as the macros. It doesn't have the recipe feature but honestly I don't mind having to input the ingredients of a meal each time. I'm not sure how the database is for UK foods, but I'm sure you could just quickly download it and see if it's right for you.

Thanks, I'll stick with MFP then. I use the recipe feature a lot, whereas I don't need the exercise element. I'm fine sorting out my own calorie range, too. I'm mainly annoyed at how long I have to spend hunting for a food in the database, because they vary so much with the nutrients and calories, and plenty of them aren't measured in ways that are usable for me.

A friend has just posted asking about an app they can track their eating with that doesn't have any diet talk. They're in the UK, and possibly using Apple rather than Android. Any recommendations? MyFitnessPal has that intrusive "blog" feature.

I like MyFitnessPal

I like MyFitnessPal. I just use the "diary" function (on my apple phone) and ignore the homepage with the adds and blogs. I love that you can save recipes and meals.
