Calorie counting has been the most successful

I have succeeded in tracking my food for 4 days now! I know that is not a lot, but that is HUGE for me. I don't stick to plans for more than 2 or 3 days, so 4 days feels good! :carrot:

It is interesting how different it feels this time around. I am not trying to change myself because I hate myself. This time, I had went to the doctor and got some scary numbers. That woke me up. I have been tracking since. I am not hopeful that this time will be different. I know it is.

Congratulations on starting, that is such a hard part of dieting! I was exactly where you were about a year ago. Had a scary Doctor visit where he said I was obese, and I felt awful. I started in July and by Feb had met my goal, after lowering the goal two times.

I recommend using something like My Fitness Pal to track calories. It's really helpful. One thing I loved about it is if you go over on calories, it tells you what you weigh in five weeks if you ate like that every day, and it is not some huge amount! So it helps you realize it is okay to go over a little bit. But keep tracking! I'm still tracking since I reached goal weight because my goal is now to maintain.

Also, exercise! I started off very lightly. And I had never exercised before. I used the Leslie Sansone DVDs and just walked at home. Started very easy with one mile, but quickly went up to 3 and now I'm adding lots to it. Just start off easy with whatever you pick.

Don't hate yourself. It happened to 1/3 of the U.S, or probably more. Just look around. It's our lifestyle and the availability of high sugar foods. That's why you have to add some exercise, that will change your lifestyle. You can lose without it but it will help your mood and your loss.

Thank you for sharing. :) I do exercise regularly as my feet are my primary form of transportation. In fact, we had such a hard winter this year that I couldn't walk outside and I ended up gaining another 10 pounds! Crazy! However, I do need to exercise more and vary my routine.

I LOVE Leslie Sansone. I used to use her videos all the time. I still have a bunch. I have an arm band thing somewhere around here...
