Don't know what's going on but I was down 1/2 this morning after a 1 pound down the day before. Of course this was after two weeks of the same - actually up and down for two weeks. I'll take it.

Had a Roast Pork sandwich from our favorite Cuban restaurant for dinner. So good. We used to eat it once or more a week before I started the diet in July - and this is probably just the 3rd time I've had it. So good. I used Paisley's method of eating light and not worrying too much on the weekend for dinner. No idea on calories but it will be okay. I have learned that one or two days over does not a diet ruin! (This took more than 30 years to learn for me.)

Do you have room for an OLD ROOSTER who is counting calories and following the Volumetrics Weight Control Plan?

I have been a life long yo-yo dieter but it seems to be different this time.
Since December 30, 2013 when I re-started my diet, I have not exceeded my daily calorie goal a single time. In many years of dieting I have never been able to string this many days together. I never did Volumetrics before so maybe I have finally found a plan in it that is right for me.

I am eating huge meals and a check today shows that I am continuing to lose 3 to 5 pounds a week.

My total today was 1,018 calories, 9g fat and 504mg sodium.
I am a cardiac bypass patient so I track fat and sodium as well as calories.

Welcome Larry! I haven't heard of that diet. I'm a lifetime yo yo-er myself but this time I plan on breaking the yo yo string and staying DOWN! I'm realizing reading the Living Maintenance boards it isn't easy!

The weekend of awful food is DONE. DONE, DONE, DONE.
I actually didn't enjoy the hamburger I had on Saturday night at all. It's the first hamburger I've had in months and I picked off most of the toppings, including the bacon, and gave my husband half of it.
I didn't track all my calories because I found it impossible, though it was awful food I think I ate under maintenance by a significant enough amount.
We went out to dinner on Friday night and I had a drink and a few pieces of tempura vegetables. The waiter got my main order wrong so I ended up not having that which I suppose was a lifesaver in terms of cals! I pinched a little of DH's dinner and called it a night.
Weighing in on Wednesday after the bloat and salt is gone. I'm going to work my butt off this week in order to get the scale moving, I would love to break 30lbs down by the end of the month.

I made some goodies for a bake sale and didn't eat any of them. I bought a box for the family while I was there, I also resisted those.
Back in the day I would have been taste testing as I baked and bought one of everything. Instead, my family did all the tasting and there were no complaints ;)

I want to be another 30lbs down in 4 months, I'm not sure if that's a realistic goal but here's hoping!

diamond_girl - I know what you mean. I don't do workouts that don't give a good enough burn! I hate working out so if I'm going to do it, I want to get it done fast and have it really count!
abbyin - Well done! Though aren't you hungry? I'm finding myself less and less tolerant to under 1200 these days

1062 Calories for yesterday. And yes, Paislymama, I have been really hungry for the last few days. I really don't try to eat that low of calories everyday, it's just that I've been watching my fat intake and it seems to go up very quickly during the day and so I slow down on the calories. Well today is going to be a free day since my brother is coming in town from Ohio for a couple of days and we'll be going out to dinner tonight. I was starving again this morning and so I stopped and got breakfast on the way to work :mcd: and I'm still hungry :?: I don't know what is wrong with me and this hunger thing. Well, hopefully, after eating whatever I want today, I will get back to normal and try to hit that 1250 calorie range.

1750 yesterday for me, which is a leeeetle bit low but I was a hundred calories over budget the day before, so that's okay. Have to say, I'm already dreading the day I stop breastfeeding. That extra 500 kcal/day is awesome.

abbyin - If you're cutting back on fat, that might actually be the reason you're so hungry. Fat has a lot to do with satiety, so without it you're not going to feel as full for long.

I was a bad girl this Valentine's weekend, and I can't blame it on my partner as he didn't buy me anything fattening - no chocolate or Baileys, because he knows I am on a diet. Instead he bought me some fab Star Trek swag and a lovely watch.

No, my downfall was all my own doing.

We sat and watched a film together on V-day night and I strongly suggested he get the chocs out. I only meant to have a few, but we all know what "I only meant" tends to turn into.

Then, on the day after, I suggested my small daughter and I bake Valentine's heart-shaped shortbread biscuits, complete with yummy pink icing and pink sprinkles. To be fair, I did share them - I only ended up having five of the 18 we made.

But then, I just felt SO nibbly all weekend - I couldn't stop myself from gobbling virtually everything in sight.

Result: This morning I was up 3.8 lb!!!!

I know it's not 3.8 lb of fat - I didn't eat THAT much - but it's still disheartening. So, back on the wagon today. It will go. I will be happy to maintain this week, overall.

1,859 Calories yesterday after giving in to my DW request and going to Pizza Hut:( I went for a 30 minute brisk walk to allow for the extra calories.

Today I am back to my Volumetrics plan. Today was my weekly weigh in and I am down 4 pounds this week. :D

Well, Paisleymama, you would be happy to know that I read your post while eating breakfast this morn! ha Not just any breakfast, but my kids' cereal--'cause we're outta everything else. Honey/oat kind of cereal, but actually lower calorie than my granola. I've been at my ticker weight for 3 days straight, and after such a low-calorie weekend, I'm UP. 1.5#. Naturally. GRRRR! It would be one of those "effit..i'm eating a whole pizza all by myself" days, but I'm terrified of gaining. So easy to gain....so incredibly difficult to lose.

1215 cals yesterday. Although it didn't seem like I ate that much. Milk products! Ai Yai Yai!....4 little ounces of cheese=400cals...and 4oz of kefir=110cals. Yikes! I'm trying to learn to like almond milk. I don't know, guys....I just don't think I can do this anymore....I NEED half-n-half for my coffee!!!

Been MIA for the week due to illness. Feeling much better today! Did not make the best food choices over the last week due to not cooking my own food. No gain for the week so that I am happy about! Back on track today!

Edoetsch, sorry you have been sick. I was worried about you. When you are sick it's hard to eat properly. Whenever my DH is sick he eats PBJs. Weirdest thing I've ever seen but it's been going on since I've known him 34 years! Any type of sickness!

Abbyin. I find it I have days like that I have to eat and then shockingly I'll be down the next day, as long as I don't eat until I'm too full.

Speaking of being full, I'm still working on learning when I am full. All these years of gorging and then dieting has messed up my fullness indicator. I have been noticing sometimes I feel hungry and I know I have been eating enough that really I am not "hungry" it is that something is bothering me. So I ask myself "ok, why are you upset?" And try to tell myself eating won't change why I am worried or what I'm upset about. Of course, this doesn't always work.

Ok, this is going to sound really silly but I bought a new Crest toothpaste that is mint chocolate chip flavored. I love it! Of course you can't eat it, but it tastes good. Sounds gross, I know. But I think it tastes great. After dinner tonight I brushed with it right away and felt like I had a dessert flavor!

Yesterday I ended the day at 1019. I wasn't hungry, counting it as a low day.

diamond_girl - I bet you see a loss this week with the high cal day!
abbyin - Have a wonderful time with your brother! Try drinking water or tea, it helps me with the hunger pangs. Even a black coffee does the trick. You can also eat soup. It fills you up and it's relatively low in calories yet high in all the good stuff.
Robisa - I'm glad you put dieting aside to do something fun with your daughter. The 3lb gain is worth it for the memories :) My kids baked cupcakes a few weeks ago, I didn't have one for the first time in forever but I helped them bake it and they got to taste test everything along the way.
Seemyfeet - Glad you ate something today ;) I try to avoid dairy products, I'm lactose sensitive which helps. If I eat cheese, I try to make it parmesan. It's much more forgiving, calorie wise, than cheddar. I used to eat cheese and crackers all the time thinking it was a somewhat healthy choice, oh how wrong I was!

CalCounter1003 - It's taken me a long time not to WANT to eat. I still struggle with wanting to eat and actually needing to. I try to eat before I get too hungry so I don't feel the hunger pangs. In the beginning I was miserable. I felt like I was starving hungry all the time. Now that I've adjusted, the moment passes if I wait. I often sit down to a meal, wait a few minutes, then start eating so that I don't overeat.

Two good days in a row: 1894 and 1988 respectively. Scale looked good this morning, too! It is SO much easier to stick to calories during the week when I can have the exact same measured-out thing for breakfast and lunch each day. Having just one meal to worry about instead of three makes life a lot simpler.

Paisleymama - Oooh, so close to onederland! I hope you get it tomorrow!
edoetsch - I'm the same way. I've got a really nasty chest cold right now, and I just want to comfort-eat everything in the house.

Sorry that I've been AWOL for almost a week - I've had a very hectic time!!
First my car MOT was a massive stress and cost me £350 and a late night! Then my BF whizzed me off for a romantic weekend in Loch Ness to celebrate 3 years together and then yesterday I had minor surgery on my breast to remove a mega dodgy mole so I've now got a strip of sore stitches holding me together!! The stitches mean at least 10 days til I can do any exercise so I'll have to be really careful with my calories!
All in all an overwhelming rollercoaster week!
It sadly crossed my mind that the bit of flesh they took out of my body would maybe help the scales ! :P but I didn't weigh in this morning. I will weigh in in the morning and see what difference a week has made but with the eating out over the weekend I'll be pleased with maintaining.

You've all been doing so well whilst I've been away!! Well Done Everyone!! I'll get myself updated with you all over the next few days...

I'm glad to be back!! :)

It's killing me not weighing in but I will cry if there's an increase at this point so I am stepping away from the scale!
Yesterday was 1148, the kids wanted cupcakes from our favourite french bakery and I couldn't help myself, I had a mini chocolate one and it was SOOOO good. I'm weak. Sweets will be the death of me. I totally made sure my cals were low enough just to accommodate that cupcake. I would rather not have real food all day just to have something sugary.

I also updated my ticker to add my long term goal which sort of stinks because my old one was half way there! Now I've added another 15lbs on. It daunts me to look at it but hopefully it'll keep me motivated.
I'll be away friday to monday. I hope everyone has a good weekend :)

BigChiefHoho - Thank you!!! Hopefully by Tuesday I'll break into the 190's. I hear you, weekends are a bust for dinner, I anticipate it but through the week I have the same thing every single day. It makes life a lot easier!

I was slightly over my daily calories by 39 calories. Not a big deal as I just restarted today after a LONG time of not watching my calories and just eating anything and everything I wanted over the last few weeks.
My daily limit is 1400.

My weakness is Werther's Original candies. They are 20 calories for one candy but I could eat the whole bag if I kept them in the house. :(

If I have a bad cold I seem to want to eat more food. I've just recently gotten over a long chestcold type illness and I noticed I felt hungrier then usual. It was similiar to the same hunger feeling I have when I am pms-ing or menstruating.

Well, I had a brief moment of weight loss happiness yesterday, so naturally, my scale decided to put things aright and reward me with a 4lb gain for the day. :dizzy: I am concerned that there might be an end to my patience, and I worry about the consequences. Hiding all matches and knives today. (JOKING! people!)

865cals yesterday. I didn't have time to prepare a lunch yesterday, so I went over to the workplace dive, but was too late for the salad bar. I managed to find a veggie snack, seaweed salad (Y.U.C.K.), and an apple. Didja notice the absence of pizza and chicken sandwich from that list, hmmm??

I was over my cals by about 20 yesterday. My weight hasn't budged, other than a half pound up, then down, in the past 3 weeks, but I am pretty sure it is because I have been slacking with the calorie tracking and was off my game as far as exercise goes for a bit due to bad weather.

1185 Calories for yesterday. I also did 40 minutes of Turbo Jam Body Sculpt. I did lose 1 of the 2 lbs. I gained last week when I weighed myself this morning. I am determined to make that scale start going down again! I am really going to stick to my calories count and exercise for the rest of this month! There really isn't much of this month left and I feel like I haven't accomplished anything because of all the ups and downs on the scale. I WILL MOVE FORWARD!!

1750 yesterday for me. Bit too low, I think, but the scale is down this morning, which is always nice. I'm STARVING right now - haven't had anything to eat today but a PB and banana sandwich and a couple cough drops. DH is making French bread pizzas for supper, though, so it's a good thing I saved my calories.

The scale said I was up 1.8lbs but I'm not buying it. I've been under 1200 all week in anticipation for this weekend's trip away. Without being too TMI I need more fiber...

So, I'm not recording that weight, if it's still there on Wednesday I will blame the refined sugar in those two measly mini cupcakes and the protein bars, which I usually don't eat but have for two days in a row.

canadianwoman - I have too many weaknesses to list, most sweet and so very bad for you. I was joking around with my husband a few days back, saying no wonder I'm fat, all my favourite foods are just the worst: Chocolate, salted fries, donuts, scones with jam and cream, pie - savoury or sweet. Not to say I shovel them in my mouth every day but the only thing I LOVE that is good for you is avocado.

Seemyfeet - I feel the same way. The scale determines my mood a lot these days.
