I measure things like cereal with measuring cups, but with meat or when I'm out to eat and I can't weigh things or measure them I also try to overestimate. It seems to be working for both of us- you are doing so well! :)

OMG YES. I ban anything I can't stop eating and I hope that once I gain back my self control from my binge eating disorder I can slowly reintroduce them into my life. I have ban, cereal, chips, chocolate and candy (unless it's a one serving 200-250 calorie thing-and that is a reward), pizza, peanut butter, nuts, cheese, and bread. I have a HUGE problem with self control on these items.

Yes of course! Doesn't everyone?

I haven't bought biscuits or cakes in years. If I have one I struggle to not have a second. It's much easier not to have them in the house. I sometimes eat them when out with friends but then I just buy one portion and don't feel that frustration.

If it's a comfort I went to a talk recently by three scientists on the human brain and how it functions. The talk was fascinating. One thing that they all said though is that humans are not rational creatures. In fact many impulses are as strong or stronger than logic. So go ahead and ban stuff if it makes life easier for you. No one relies on logic or good sense all the time to stick to a diet.

I have banned a few foods. One of which is my favorite, cheeseburgers :(

YES! Homemade tacos...I can have tacos from taco bell no problem. I'll eat whatever my calories will allow for dinner or lunch or whatever. But when it comes to homemade tacos I can literally eat the entire skillet. And I wish that was an exaggeration. I have no limit. I will eat until uncomfortably full and sometimes I'll still continue to eat until I have to lay down and feel like I'm going to die. So I won't allow myself to eat that unless I don't care about the consequences. But I won't ever calculate it into my plan because I can't stay on plan with that meal. I've tried several times before and it never works out. So unless I'm having a cheat meal or cheat day then I don't fix/eat it.
