Zumba??
Hey everyone. I just joined the YMCA the other day and I was thinking about trying out a Zumba gold class to see what it's like. Has anyone lost any weight with Zumba or found it to be helpful? Any input would be great! Thanks :)

Zumba is fun and gets you moving.
That said, exercise doesn't really help you lose weight. Your food intake is the most important. Exercise to get fit, not to lose weight :) |
Any exercise that gets your heart rate up is good for health and fitness, whether you dress it up as Zumba or Tae Bo or anything else.

Zumba is a very fun way to burn calories! Zumba Gold is actually a class for older people, or patrons with physical limitations. (At least that is what it was designed to be.) Often it is simply a Z,ba class with less impact-intensive moves. :)
I personally love Zumba and have become a major addict. I burn about 600 cals+ and hour, but like all exercise, your burn is only equal to your output! Like the above posters, I watch my food intake to maintain (and to lose) and exercise is for toning, etc. Try it out! You may love it. |
