2 week plateau??

I need a little advice from you all...I average 1200-1300 calories per day with lots of protein and whole grains, vegies and stay away from junk food and most caffeine...I drink almost a gallon of water per day. I was doing great, then 2 weeks ago I hit 185.6lbs.....well I weighed in this morning and I was 185.6lbs
Any advice on what I can do to get the scale moving? Do I need to have a few days over 1500 calories or should I go a few days with closer to 1000??? Thanks for the help....

My advice is to keep on doing what you are doing and do not give up. Do you do any exercise at all ? This may be the time to start an exercise program.

I walk 3-5 miles per day...plus my usual daily work

Its SO frustrating, but it happens. I would stick with what you are doing...it should pass.
Good Luck!

Yeah I have been staying right on with calories and exercise even though I am on this plateau....I figure eventually it will just pass or this is just where my body wants to be..lol Either way I will win.

Were you at this weight before for a long time? I ask because I have read that sometimes we plateau like that because we reach a weight where we spent a long time so our body gets there and feels comfortable since it is used to it and sort of freezes for a plateau.

I have notice in the past (I once lost over 120 lbs) that it was true for me and my body so I would advise just to stick to what you are doing and look for that whoosh. When it happens you will be glad you didn't give up.

I wouldn't make any drastic changes to your calories though I bet you are just sticking due to that whole body comfort thing and it will soon pass.

Good luck

I wouldn't worry about a two week stall; give it another couple of weeks and see what happens. My body regularly stays at the same weight for two weeks or three, and then wooshes off all that I actually had lost. Don't panic yet: it doesn't mean that you're not losing fat.

I know it can be frustrating to play the numbers game with the scale, but persistence is key when it comes to a plateau! I agree with the other posters - if you're not losing anymore after 1-2 weeks, maybe change something in your food plan. Also, did you have your time of the month during any of this? That could definitely factor as an explanation.

Good luck and stay strong! :D

Don't give up!!! :)

I found sometimes if I had a stubborn plateau, I'd try maintenance for a bit.

Find what's right for you, just don't give up!! :D It'll come down eventually, with a vengeance! lol
