I know the feeling all too well. I've been getting the pregnant question myself from adults and not sweet five year olds. Welcome back!

I remember the first time someone mistook me for being pregnant. I was mortified... I threw the dress in the good will as soon as I got home... took my arrogant self a couple years to realize it wasn't just the clothes...

@Canadianwoman, I'm sorry you had to hear that question from your grandson but it's great that you decided to take action about it! ;) Welcome back to calorie counting!

I remember people assuming I was pregnant and I was taken aback. But I was more shocked (I knew I was fat) that these people had the bad manners (they were complete strangers, waiters and store clerks) to say such things. While yes it's a wakeup call, it's also rude (from a child not, but an adult it is IMO).

I am back - young children can be the sweetest and the rudest in equal proportions. They see things in black and white. Its good incentive. I have just recently started over again.

I am back to calorie counting as well, after a disastrous foray into what is called "intuitive eating." That's the "science" of eating when you're hungry and stopping when you're satisfied; no dieting, etc.

Heck, I've finally realized if I knew how to stop when satisfied, I wouldn't be fat in the first place. Intuitive eating doesn't work for me. I find it's easier to just track calories than obsessing whether I'm hungry, full or in-between.

Calorie counting worked for me in the past, and it will work now. I'm reading a good book called Fat 2 Fit which I read about on this website. Thank goodness it involves calorie counting because I'm going back to basics. Period. No low carb, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Zone, Atkins diets any more. Just good old calories. :)

Worked for me. I'm a big believer in keeping things as simple as possible.
