gained 2.4?? Is that possible in 6 days while eating good

Is that even possible from friday to today? Ive stayed on plan everyday but went over once. :( i dont get it. Ive also walked the past 2 days a mile a day. Is it just water? I did have sausage for dinner last night and have had a problem going to the bathroom sorry tmi.

:( all my hard work and I gained :(

I bet its from the sodium in the sausage. I know if I eat salty foods i show a gain for a few days. Drink lots of water today and it will be gone soon.

Thanks :) Stupid sodium! lol

I'd say it's just probably a normal fluctuation. Over the course of this past week, I gained and lost 6 lbs, for no apparent reason. It just happens sometimes. If it sticks around for 2 or more weeks, then consider the possibility of gain. Some people have water retention for even longer. Do you know your own pattern of water retention yet? You might consider journaling your fluctuations so you can see how they fit into your body's natural rhythm. Also, consider that sometimes you bloat just before a whoosh. Perhaps it will leave and take some with it. :)

sodium is the culprit. here's the thing, when you gain sodium, you lose it within a couple of days! that's why weekly/monthly weigh ins are better.

personally, i weigh everyday (sometimes morning and night- i can almost predict what im going to be in the morning if i weigh at night, but use the morning weight as a marker) but i only track it once a week - on mondays, right after the weekend. so it shows you a typical pattern!

Unless you have a metabolic disorder (which you probably would have noticed before now), then when in doubt, always remember calories in calories out. As long as in is less than or equal to out, then you have no reason whatsoever to care about what the scale says from day to day.

Thx guys. I feel better now. Ill watch it over a few days :)

Did you get a whoosh down yet?

Breannaj1215 08-02-2012 10:15 AM

whats a whoosh down?

kelly315 08-02-2012 11:46 AM

Woosh: Often when your body is holding water weight you'll stay the same or gain for a while, then lose the weight quickly. For example, I stayed the same for a couple of weeks, then lost 5 pounds in 3 days (and it stayed off).

Breannaj1215 08-02-2012 01:54 PM

ohhh. thats never happened to me yet but i did eat a lil more sodium than normal tuesday so maybe it is? Idk i think it may be my scale also its acting weird.

It's probably water retention of some kind or just natural fluctuation, but I think everybody's being a bit too quick to pin it on sodium. I don't typically see much water retention from sodium unless I eat a couple thousand above what I usually eat and one sausage is unlikely to make that much of a difference. I'm just saying because I'd hate for Breannaj1215 to develop a sudden fear of eating sausage for it is an evil sodium-monster.

Breannaj1215, you said you had "a little more sodium" on Tuesday. How much is a little more?

Breannaj1215 08-03-2012 03:36 PM

Just the sausage I had. But the weight gain is gone so it could've just been a fluke thing
