does eating healthy make u thirsty?
I've been calorie counting for a lil over a week now, which I'm doing amazing, but I'm always thirsty and all I want is ice cold water. Does this happen to anyone or has it before? Just curious. I'm sure I just like water lol but it has to be really cold. :)

I get more thirsty when I drink water rather than other types of drinks, and sometimes when I shift from eating lots of preservatives to more natural foods. Your salt content probably decreased as well, so your body might actually be using the water rather than holding on to a lot of it. It's an excellent thing, though! It will help you clean out your system, keep your body lubricated so it functions well, and reach your goals!

:) glad to hear. Lol.

Not sure that clean eating has much to do with the thirst (unless you are eating a lot of Smart Ones frozen dinners - super high in sodium!). But - Whatever works - keep drinking the water!!

No, it doesn't have that effect on me. If anything, healthy eating makes me less thirsty because healthy foods tend to have less sodium in them. For me it's pretty simple: the less food I eat, the less thirsty I am and the less I need to drink.

Breanna - this happens to me too. I have notice a handful of threads about it over the last few months, so we are certainly not the only ones.

Eating more fibre makes me noticeably thirstier.

Your body could be wanting more water to flush out excess ketones in your system from fat breakdown. So it's not necessarily eating healthy that makes you thirsty, it's losing fat because you're eating healthy.
At least that's my educated guess :) |
