Tried to have a "cheat day."

So I figured I'd try a cheat day. Or rather a cheat rest-of-the-day since I've already tracked breakfast and lunch. I ate some garlic scape dip I had made with crackers (not counted!) and thought about how I'd just make something for dinner and not count it.

Well, here I sit, after my appetizers and my glass of wine, thinking "do I want pizza? no... Chinese? They'd deliver and its hot out. No... Italian? They deliver. no.... maybe I'll just have that little steak I thawed earlier and grill some of the zucchini that came in the CSA."

This is like when I went to a party in high school and had one beer. I fail at rebelling!

So just tracked everything, came in at 1880 cals for the day. My upper limit is 1690.
Worst cheat day ever! :dizzy:

too funny! I like the way you cheat. Reminds me of when I was a kid and walked home using shortcut that I wasn't supposed to. EVERY time I did it I'd walk in the door and announce it. No sneakiness in me.

sontaikle 06-21-2012 09:32 PM

Yeah I can't cheat either, LOL.

EricAnn 06-21-2012 09:46 PM

Oh man, I wish I couldn't cheat. I'm reeeeally good at it, haha.

I can't cheat either!! I went for seafood and I ordered broiled instead if fried... And hardly ate my twice baked mash potato

So cute and funny. I struggle with binge eating, so a cheat day will REALLY be a cheat day and then I'll hate myself. I need everything precisely planned out to the pea for the week. :P

I don't do cheat days, but I do splurge meals. One interesting thing I noticed last Sunday when we went out for brunch at a buffet, and I planned to not count calories, is that I cannot eat as much as I used to. I ran into that little kid problem where my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I was full but still wanted to keep eating. I didn't want to make myself ill, so I stopped anyway. It was so annoying to have given myself carte blanche, see lots of food I wanted to eat, and only be able to eat a (relatively) small amount of it.

If that's your worst cheat day, you're made of sterner stuff than I am.

F.

Edited to add: reread your original post and realized you were joking about the cheat day.

You're my personal hero! Hahahahaha

If you bad at cheating that means you've formed good habits! Congrats! I cheated a bit today on Chinese takeout... had more than I intended to but a lot less than I would have a couple months ago. W00t. Let's keep being awesome!

This is me...lol. I went to Olive Garden with my mom and sister the other day and I had already decided that I just wasn't going to count that day since I knew I would eat more than my fair share of bread sticks and then I could barely finish my ONE bowl of soup! I've never only had one bowl of soup.

Bah! I wanna cheat like you!

Sounds like you've had "the change of [diet] life"!!!! lolololol!

ChickieChicks 06-24-2012 05:27 PM

I can totally relate! I suck at "letting go" and "cheating". It's not like I really want to go crazy and eat everything in sight, but my OCD can go overboard sometimes and not allow me to enjoy something I used to, especially know that I know the calorie count of practically every food on the planet! LOL

I also gave up all trans-fats and HFCS, so I just don't have as many things on my acceptable eating list as before, but definately for the better!

Good for you for making great choices, even when you weren't counting! Having an extra 200 calories can truly be enough and that is usually the amount I go over, too.
