Subway sandwich help!

I am a cal counter. I don't expect counts to be perfect but like to be in the ball park. I am also watching my sodium. I track thru fitday.com.

Went to subway yesterday.

Ordered 6" roast beef on honey oat bread.

Provolone cheese. Veggies. Oil and vinegar.

No mayo or mustard. No jalapeno or peppercinis.

I go to look it up today and find these 2 links.

http://www.subway.com/nutrition/nutr...NG&id=sandwich

This link, looked at the roast beef. I do understand this is w/out cheese or oil and vinegar.

Here are the exclusions:

Quote:

Subs with 6 grams of fat or less include wheat bread, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, green peppers and olives. All other sandwich values include cheese unless otherwise noted.
So 290 cals plus add extra cals for cheese and oil and vinegar?

But then I see this link:

http://www.subway.com/nutrition/Nutr...ountrycode=CAN

And it says the honey oat bread alone is 260 calories! Which I DO believe. But the first link says 290 cals. I do not believe the meat and the veggies are just 30 cals total.

So is the first link not including the meat?

I can imagine this sandwich is a good 600 cals. But why are they trying to act like its 290? Why are they not including the meat?

How do I find out how much cals the meat is? etc

The 290 calorie amount is for a sandwich on wheat bread, which is 210 calories by itself. That makes the meat and vegetables 80 calories, which seems reasonable. The honey oat bread has more calories. So you'd need to add 50 calories for the different bread, plus the calories in the cheese and oil and vinegar.

I always use this:

The info I found from Subway was:
6" Honey Oat Bread = 250 cal
6" Roast Beef = 70 cal
Prov Cheese (2 half circles) = 50 cal
Olive Oil Blend = 50 Cal
Total = 415 cal

Sorry - olive oil blend should be 45 cal.

THAT Menu is for CANADA btw.. click for USA and it is 320 calories.. just noticed that. The Roast Beef is less calories there too according to the Nutritional Data Tables

I look at the menu on Subway.com and it says without cheese and olive oil and with reg wheat bread its 320 calories... I do not think it would be 600 calories..

It looks like they use the wheat bread when calculating calories and it is 50 calories less than the Honey Oat.

If you click on the nutritional data tables it says that 1 serving of Roast beef is 90 calories for a 6 inch. It also lists all the calories in the veggies for you.

Honey Wheat 260
Roast Beef 90
Prov. Cheese 50
Oil 45 cal

The only Veggie that has a lot of cals is the Avocado with 70.. the rest are 5 or less.
