Calorie limit confusion
So, I use livestrong daily plate to keep track of my calories. It says to lose 2 lbs a week I have to eat under 1000 calories, but I know that is super way unhealthy so I don't follow the limitation. Though I find myself not even making that limit when I just eat when I'm hungry. I don't really often feel hunger, I eat mostly out of boredom or because I'm with friends that are eating. Should I force myself to eat more so I make it to a higher calorie count? And what should a 5'5 21 year old girl be eating? Help?

I would think you should be eating about 1500 calories a day. What are you eating that is so low in calories ? Maybe you just need to be eating more calorie dense foods.

I just plugged the numbers into livestrong and it gives 1262 if you are sedentary, 1592 if lightly active and 1900 if you are moderately active. That's for a 2lb loss per week. So, I'm not sure why you got less than 1000 when you calculated?

bargoo- I eat lean cuisines and yogurt mostly. I've never really eaten much, my problem was soda, but now I drink water instead so I have cut a lot of bad for me calories. The only food I ever really want anymore is yogurt, which I know is weird, but nothing else appeals to me.
landonsbaby- That's so weird. It tells me I should eat 975 calories a day. I don't know why it would give you a different number. I think they may have changed it so it doesn't say below 1000 cals and it hasn't applied to my account because I've had it for 2 years.

Goody, I eat yogurt daily, too. What yogurt are you eating ? Dannon Light and Fit , which is about 60 calories ? You could try Oikos Greek Yogurt which is 120-130 calories. Just one way to add a few more calories without eating a lot more.

I have a question and I'm not sure where to post the question and I don't know how to start my own thread. I have been eating at or under 1500 calories. I walk at least 30 minutes a day on treadmill and do a weight lifting program 3 days a week. I have lost 38 pounds. Should I readjust my calorie intake because I have lost weight. I have been stuck at the same weight for over a week which I know isn't a plateau as of yet but just wondering about the calorie thing.

I don't think you need to adjust your calories. Your weight loss may have slowed down but if you keep on doing what you are doing it will come off. Don't get discouraged you won't always lose at the same pace, it is totally unpredictable.

I think a SMALL reduction in caloric intake would be reasonable, as long as you don't go too low. I know that Weight Watchers recommends periodic reductions in daily points as people shed weight. It makes sense, because the less you weigh, the less fuel you need.
