Different sources of Protein???

I don't eat alot of meat but I'm not a vegetarian. Without thinking, I can easily go a week without it. I was wondering what some common alternative sources were, in addiction to meat. Besides things like eggs, yogurt, chickpeas, cheese :)

Quinoa, lentils, peanut butter, tofu, pumpkin seeds, nuts, edamame, most beans

Fish and seafood, tofu, black beans (which I love).

protein powder seems to be the easiest, least amount of calories and depending on what brand you buy a fairly cheap way to boost your protein intake

Yes this. I bought a giant tub of the stuff (seriously, it's huge and it didn't cost me much at all) on Amazon after trying out a small one from the local health store.

The one I have tastes REALLY GOOD in a shake. It's Vanilla and it tastes like I'm having ice cream or something. I mix it with PB2 and some fruit. Mmmmm.

I love meat but I can't eat it as much as I'd want because I do have to share with the other people in my house. Protein shakes make up for what I can't get from my food.

Soy.
Chicken.

anything!! there's tonnes of protein in all vegetables. especially if you're looking for "quantity of food". things like baby spinach have an impressive amount of protein. i suggest looking into a book called "Eat to live". While I don't follow it exactly, it does advocate a (i don't want to use the word diet) so eating plant mostly filled with vegetables and beans, with about 12 oz of "meat/dairy" a week. even if you want to supplement some of your meals, which is what i do.

Shredded tofu with seasoning is great. It shreds very quickly and easily. I put it in tacos and stirfries.

I was going to suggest Protein shakes as well! I add them to my tea (vanilla) or my coffee ( choc) and they are super yumm!

seitan!

Okay. Most of these suggestions are fabulous. (I'm crazy about black beans in particular.) But the comment about spinach is a little misleading. Yes, calorie for calorie, spinach has a lot of protein. But it's so low cal that to get a decent amount of protein from it, you would have to eat a truly unwieldy quantity of it. For, say, just ten grams of protein? You'd need to eat 11 cups of fresh spinach.

You'd need to be Popeye!
