Oh......the hungry days...oooohhhhhh. don't we hate them. I'm drinking a glass of water before i eat in the morning, and before every meal as well. It is good for my kidneys, fills me up a little more and gives me exercise when i need to run for the bathroom at work !!! Make sure you are drinking at least 6 cups a day, its real important. For the munchies, nuts have already been mentioned, i like to eat a corn cracker with tuna (no added salt) or a hard boiled egg with a salad.

When I'm really hungry, I'll eat a BIG egg white omelette with a ton of veggies, low calorie soup or veggie chili, or a HUGE noodle bowl (shirataki is good for that) with veggies. I mean, I'll use a half a package of mushrooms along with a whole bell pepper, a lot of spinach, scallions, snow peas, and broccoli, some broth, sriracha, hoisin or stir fry sauce. I even eat it out of a mixing bowl because it can be that big :D

I actually find that the best way to get rid of this feeling is not to eat, but to do something that completely distracts me from eating instead. Some kind of pure-pleasure activity that will keep me away from food for at least a couple of hours...by which time it's usually actually time for me to have a meal and whatever psycho craving I was having has passed. For me, it's usually reading, playing a video game, writing, or taking a long hot shower. I enjoy those things thoroughly enough that I'm not thinking about eating, and it really works.
I've also noticed that I don't get hungry until I start to eat for the day, so I usually skip breakfast and just have a hot tea. That way, I can have a large lunch and I've cut out half of the day as far as food cravings go. |

Nibbles..don't know about skipping breakfast...isn't it kind of important to kick start u for the day?.. If i don't eat anything..i'm not a happy vegemite and am ravenous until snack time! Munchy....that sounds awesome...i like to do the same thing as well...plenty of vegies (instead of pasta) with some egg done anyway any how! |
Yeah, I know a ton of people swear by breakfast, but I'm just one of those people who's not naturally hungry in the mornings. It's kind of like my stomach stays asleep until I put something in it, and then it turns into a ravenous beast. So if I hold out until noon, I cut out breakfast and snack with little feeling of sacrifice.
Of course, a lot of people do coffee in the morning, and I know that a stomach full of that much acid can make you queasy without something solid to tone it down. |
