your most filling low-cal snack?

  • Hello fellow CC!

My favorite low cal snack that is surprisingly filling is:

PB2(chocolate flavor) (5 tablespoons, blended with water until smooth and creamy and not too thick) with 2 celery sticks cut up into long, thin sticks = 128 calories, fills me up for hours and tastes very decadent.

What's yours? I'm looking for more ideas. Thanks!
  • I love peanut butter and celery. I always put skim milk with the snack. Almonds fill me for sure. I can eat about 20 or so and it will kill my appetite for several hours.
  • I like cheese sticks. One of them is 90 calories and cheese really fills me up, so one usually does it.
  • An apple. I'm just stuffed after I eat one

If you get light string cheese, it's only 50 calories! I like that I can eat 2 then.
  • Fiber One has a 50 calorie yogurt. I top the strawberry one with a tablespoon of Kashi Go Lean Crunch for a pretty filling 63 calories!

Yes, the Sargento light string cheese is 50 calories, and much better tasting than the Weight Watchers one IMO. I like having one 50 cal string cheese with half a serving (about 10.5 pieces) of the Planters Nutrition almond, cashew, and macadamia mix at 85 calories, for a satisfying 135 calories!

And I thought of another--a carrot (regular sized, about 30 calories) that I dip in to 1 tsp of natural pb (31 calories) for a total of 61 calories. Good stuff!
  • 2tbs pb2 with 4 tbs of Greek yogurt makes an awesome celery/apple dip.
I am also a huge fan of low-carb tortillas with 1 tbs hummus and filled with peppers, cucumbers, and spinach!
Dukan pancakes are another one I like... 2tbs Greek yogurt, 2 tbs oat bran, 1 egg white. And then make it like a pancake.
  • I love these ideas everyone! Keep 'em coming!
  • For the past week or two, I've really been enjoying Lean Crans by Paradise Meadow. They have 100 calories in 1/3 cup and 14 grams of fiber. Plus they're nice and tangy. Follow them up with a glass of water, and I'm good to go.

I also tried a Klondike 100 calorie ice cream sandwich tonight, and it was surprisingly delicious and satisfying, even though it was on the small side.
