Hello! I also love coffee, especially Starbucks! My favorite lower calorie drinks are the skinny versions of the regular drinks like the skinny vanilla latte and skinny caramel macchiatto. Also, if you don't like artificial sweeteners, you can order any drink "half sweet" which cuts the pumps of syrup in half. I always order with nonfat milk too.

Another coffee lover here - ok coffee ADDICT. I love coffee!

Luckily I love my coffee black, but I also do enjoy lattes. At Starbucks you can order it with nonfat or low fat milk and sugar free syrup if you like.

Sometimes I save my calories and order a Vente' with whole milk. So rich and decadent. Totally worth every single calorie.

I get Earl Grey mistos and put the sugar in myself. Like a chai, but I think it's like 100 calories for a nonfat venti

I bought a Dolce Gusto coffee maker. I love it!!! Less calories and I can make it at home at any time. Not super cheap but cheaper than Starbucks for sure.

There is an 8oz size at Starbucks that they don't advertise. It's called a short. If you have to have a full-fat coffee treat, maybe get a short?

I drink my coffee black and I'm quite the snob about my coffee, but I do occasionally get a tall non-fat latte (no syrup or sweetener) and that's only 100 calories. Typically, I just get an Americano and I don't add anything to it. So, that's around 5 calories. :)

Generally I have flavored coffee (not with flavor pumps) with skim milk and now and the I treat myself to a plain latte with skim milk and dash some cinnamon and/or nutmeg on the top. All you have to count is the skim milk, and thats a win-win. I never took sugar in coffee (lucky me) but you could add some artificial if you like. Actually, my coffee indulgence would be the additional cream instead of skim. yum.

I just drink it plain ol' straight up, black. No calories and delish! Have you ever tried it that way? I live in a very rural area...not a Starbucks for miles and miles, so most everyone I know just savors it plain.

thanks for your replies :) right after work i went to Starbucks and ordered a skinny caramel machiatto.. im so used to getting all of my coffee drinks light and sweet (not sure if i like coffee for the effects or the sweetness of it lol) that it tasted bitter.. i added a packet of splenda and it tasted much better :)

Sorry for late reply guys but here are some details about the Dolce Gusto:

First of all the link: http://www.dolce-gusto.us/

It is a capsule coffee maker so it is not necessarily a cheap option but as I said cheaper than Starbucks.

There are different machines but they all work the same way. I have this one because I think the design is stunning: http://www.dolce-gusto.us/Products/M...o-Circolo.aspx

You can watch a video online but it is quite simple to operate. There is a water tank and then you buy a box of capsules (you always get 12 different drinks or so to try out when you buy a machine). Some drinks (cappuchino, latte, etc) need two capsules (one coffee, one milk) others like iced tea and regular coffee need only one.

So you put the capsule in, close the lid and then there is a lever that goes right for hot water and left for cold water (iced tea, cappuchino!). The only machine that does cold and hot beverages and a whole range of drinks: cappuchino, latte machiato (both have skinny and caramel and vanilla I think), regular coffee, americano, espresso, chai latte (!!), iced tea and iced cappuchino, hot chocolate (insane chocolate flavour!!)... The whole range is on that homepage too.

On some machines you can now also press a button and the right amount of water comes out. Whereas my machine I control how strong or weak I want the drink. I think it needs some practice but it is cool because I am my own barista :-))

One thing I should mention, the drinks are smaller than your regular Starbucks. It is a European machine and they have smaller cups generally. Though the coffee is quite a bit stronger so you might just want more water (barista!!) in it.

The foam is phenomenal and the balance between milk, coffee and sugar (or sweetener) is perfect for me. But I guess that is personal taste. I also have some syrups (Torani, Monin) at home and can change flavours quickly.

The standard cappuchino has 90 calories and the skinny one has 49 calories. Not too bad eh? The skinny one is definitely less rich but if you add some torani choc sauce (1/2 tbsp is 25 calories) it makes a nice mocha for less calories.

I bought the machine because I didn't drink much coffee at home and thought the capsules keep the coffee fresh longer and I rather have some latte drinks than regular joe. I am totally hooked now and drink at least two a day (they are smaller remember?). The best thing I bought in a long time! Nothing beats a nice cappuchino only minutes after getting up in the morning :-)

Oh, and every box you buy has a code on the inside. You can sign up online and collect points you can trade for more coffee or other goodies.

Phew, I think I covered most of it. Let me know if you have more questions.

On too of the non-fat milk option I often ask for half sweet and no whip. I never use the word skinny though because I don't care for the after taste of the sugar free syrups.

When I started a few years ago I waste a lot of calories on coffee. Most days I must drink it black or with skim milk - it took a bit of getting used to but I can't drink it any other way now. Except the odd treat from Starbucks.

Other option at Starbucks is a cafe misto - it is just coffee and steamed milk - I get non-fat and a venti is 90 calories. A bit of a treat for not too many calories.
