Carter- I took your advice, and haven't touched one piece today. Woo!
I guess I need to be more specific. As I stated, throwing it away is not an option. There are other people in the household who are eating it, and they do not have a problem. We do not have that much there, as we did not buy any. It is only from our daughters trick or treating. I want to learn how to overcome things. I want to be able to be in a room full of junk food, and to be able to say, "No, thank you." It is about me learning how to strengthen my own willpower. I just wanted some tips on how to fight the urge. I am not looking for an easy way out. Let's face it, life has a plethora of temptations, and learning to resist them is going to be the best way to cope with them. At least for me, anyhow. |
My kids trick or treated for 1/2 hour and cMe home with a pillow case FULL of candy. They ate as much as they wanted first day and then got so sick from it. 2nd day I offered to buy their candy in exchange for a movie at the theater. They accepted so candy went with dad to work!
If it were me and I couldnt throw out the candy as you said, I would ration it into three bags and give a bag to the three people in the house and tell them to keep it in their own room or somewhere else |
My solution isn't going to be a good one for most people, but it has worked for me... we have candy left over from a halloween party and trick or treat, plus at work one of the families brought us their left overs and our office manager put it on MY DESK! Cause she didn't want it on hers (how unfair is that?? Next week I'm putting it in the kitchen!)
Anyways my solution has been if I want to binge on candy I don't eat anything else. I literally had candy for lunch at least twice this week. The actual food I eat are horrible anyways, candy isn't really any worse for me than just food. But- my personal plan for counting calories is portion control, not really being obsessive about what specific foods I am eating, because I have some sensory issues with foods so if I only ate healthy foods, I'd be eating next to nothing. ~Katy |
If it were me, I'd throw it away. As a general rule we don't allow any sweets in our house!
