Hello everyone
I have tried the low carb for almost 3 months now and after losing 10 lbs the first week, nothing else has happened. I need to find what is going to work for me, so, reading different stories online and here, I think I will try low calorie/low fat for a while and see what happens. Something has to work!
I am a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding in February or March, not sure yet, but, I want to look good in the dress. Soooo, here I go.... |
Good luck to you! I LOVE calorie counting, and I think it's so much easier than carb counting, personally.

Calorie counting works :)
Just one word to the wise if I may. Instead of making your diet "low fat" you might try looking at it as "healthy fats only" and see where that gets you. You do need a certain amount of fat in your diet anyway. Hitting that magical number of right amount of fat while restricting calories through judicious use of olive oil, avocados, nuts, fish etc will help you feel full, process your nutrients properly, and improve your heart health :) Welcome aboard!! |
Awesome, thanks you two!
Carb counting is very restricting, but, I was doing it, just didn't work. I'm hoping the calorie counting will. Fitness pal says 1200 for me. Maybe someone can comment on that. I am 42, 5'3" 170lbs and I don't get much exercise right now other than walking the halls at work. Our temps are in the triple digits and I don't have anything at home and no money to go to workout anywhere. Hoping to change that by next month when it SHOULD cool down some. Never know what the weather is going to do here. |
1200 does seem low...If you stall out and need to re-calibrate, there's no where to go from there. Perhaps you could try out 1500 for 2 weeks and see how that goes for you?
And definitely include a judicious quantity of healthy fats! Lots of of nutritionists suggest an overall macronutrient ratio of 40% carb and 30% fat and protein. Lots of veggies and lots of lean meats. |
Okay, thank you!
