Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me jumping in! I lost 50 pounds a few years ago calorie counting and have gone up and down 20-30 pounds more then once since then. Well now I have gained back almost the full 50. So here I am again, this time I have some motivation that will hopefully help - my boyfriend of 7 years proposed two weeks ago! So I am back to take of the same 50 I took off before, plus more.

Trying 1200-1400 calories a day not counting fruits and veggies. If I use any dips or dressing I will of course count them, if I ffell I ate way too much fruit or something I will count it. But for the most part I am leaving them out, I find I don't eat them if I have to count them, so hopefully I have adjusted my calories low enough that it wont effect me. At the moment I am not exercising, but I hope to find a good iPhone arm band and start the C25K program - I can't run, at all, but hope to.

Will be back shortly to post my day/calories.

Monday:
Museli with water -100
Museli with water-100
1 x lemon yoghurt (5 g protein)-100
1 protein drink (20g protein)-100
1 x qourn ham (20g protein)-100
1 x qourn ham (20g protein)-100
1 x protein shake (55g protein)-250 cal
1 x milky bar-150 cals

3 x cups regular tea
1 x herbal tea
2 litres water
1 can of monster-40 cals
1 x jawbreakers
1040 calories.

So a quick update. On my graduation day i ate whatever i wanted but healthly. I had 2 portions of potatotes and veg. For my main i had starter, main and a dessert. I had 2 out of 3 pieces of garlic bread. I didn't eat the rice with my main. I did however eat every piece of my chocolate brownie with cream and ice cream. I also had 2 very calorific cocktails.

The next day i had a 500 calorie day with 2 hrs exercise to balance it out. I had food cravings so went out and kept myself busy. I also went to a nightclub and didn't have any alcohol.

Saturday and sunday were good too. Satruday i had 1000 cals and Sunday i had 1200 cals. Neither days had much activity since i was tired.

Today was good because i had food cravings so i kept busy. I had a great non scale victory on my graduation day. My dress was actually too big!!

Today i put on a pair of jeans that i haven't worn in a while and they looked good on me.

Exercise today:
1 hr 15 mins cardio
1 hr aerobics (it was fun)
30 mins exercise
30 mins walking.

So all in all things are going well. I have found that a low carb diet works best for me so im going to stick with that.

Tuesday:
1 x museli with water-100
1 x porridge with water-100
1 x yoghurt -100
1 x protein shake-100
2 x qourn burgers -300

1 x can of monster-40
2 x regular tea
2 x herbal tea
6 glasses of water

Today was so so:
I added chilli sauce to the burgers which was bad. I also have found myself to be a bit more fixated on food, i think that is because i'm bored.
Right now i am just sitting around waiting for college to start. I have however been doing other activities to keep myself busy and off the food.

On the good side, my clothes are looking really good these days. The blue jacket i got in July which didn#t fit at all now fits great. So thats good.

Exercise:
1 hr 15 mins cardio
10 lenghts swimming
40 mins walking
1 karate class**
I think its a bad idea to be having this low calories and all this exercise. I felt very brain dead in karate today. Luckily tomorrow is 1400 day (to be consumed before karate) so i should be okay.

Cutting of cals earlier today than normal.

Breakfast:
Porridge with milk-100
Porridge with extra-100 ish

1 x protein shake with water-100*
1 x ham

2 x ice cream bars-300

6 x qourn chicken nuggets-180 cals
1 x teaspoon chilli sauce-20 cals

5 x qourn sausages-300
4 x cracottes-100 cals
1 x coco pops bar-80 cals
1 x can of monster-40 cals

End: 1420 cals.

So i noticed that today i am falling back into my bad habits. I have been eating extras out of boredom. Those extras add calories and thus adds fat, so not good.

Today i had to go through my old clothes to pack for my masters. It kinda saddened me a bit that my size 6 clothes (which are now fitting me just barely) this time last year were falling off me. This lead me to question what is different between my life now and life back then.

Well for one i was a lot busier, i had a job, i had karate 3 times a week, the gym and all of this i took in my stride. Fast forward a year and no job and being pretty much inactive since April has made it harder to shift the pounds this is for two reasons.
1. I have too much free time on my hands, so its easier to eat out of boredom
2. The inactivity means i am burning less calories than i was

So today i can claim 2 minor non scale victories
1. Today is normally the day i allow myself milk with cereal and protein shake and today i made up my protein shake without even thinking to add the milk.
2. Part of the reason i gained a ton of weight was because of these muffins that a garage sells. I used to always buy them, pick and them and of course because i only picked at them, they never counted. I haven't had one of these since at least March or April and today i was going to have one. I *really* wanted it and it was the only thing i could think off today.

Then it hit me, there was no point in even going to the gym and trying to burn off some of last weeks food if i was going to just eat and gain more weight. So i focused instead on getting home earlier in time to watch the Big Bang theory. This worked and so i am very very happy.

My motivation has gotten very low, however i tried on the size 6 jeans which are my new goal to make fit better. I am also for the next week going to focus on everything i eat and see what my eating habits are a result off.

It may sound odd but i find that having a DS is great for weight loss since i don't have time to eat with one.

So today was a wake up call which i needed, so good and bad

Hi Canary and thank you for the invitation to this thread . It sounds like you are going through a difficult time. I would really like to know about you and the changes in your life but I don't know where to look and I don't want to have you go through your entire journey just for me, unless you would like to .
I understand about losing motivation and the size 6 jeans, I REALLY DO! You would not believe the range of sizes in my closet. Hope springs eternal, I guess...I have also eaten out of what I call "entertainment". Have you noticed that when you eat out of a reason other than hunger, only the first couple of bites really taste good no matter what the food? At least that is the case for me. I look at the stuff I've just shoved into my face for ABSOLUTELY no reason and think "this doesn't even taste that good since the 2nd or 3rd bite and I've just inhaled 900 calories of sugar".
It seems that you've found a way to avoid that today;good for you! I don't know if this will work for you, or make any sense or fit into your lifestyle but I used a bit of a trick to keep myself from BOTH losing motivation and (in my case binging, since it's always been all or none for me). I choose a pair of jeans that fit me snuggly and wear them ALL THE TIME. This is not only a reminder that I still fit into a a size, way smaller than when I started, but I am so darned uncomfortable that it is a minute by minute reminder that if I eat too much I won't even be able to sit! Of course, I can only make this suggestion because you said you do not work, otherwise, the same pr. of jeans (or jeans at all), at your job may draw some stares....
Good luck and thank you again for inviting me to visit you here
