Stumbled... grrrrr

I was doing excellent today. We are going to my father's house to grill out, and I wanted to make sure I didn't go ridiculously over my calories. I kept everything low but filling. Then I baked a marble Nutella pound cake with the intent of bringing it to his house for desert, which I wasn't planning to eat. (Bring it and ditch it was my strategy.) Of course, I had to taste a tiny piece to make sure it was okay... and the flood gates opened. I ended up eating a whole piece at a whopping 353 calories. :o I have 463 cals left for the day to stay under my goal, and it's only 1 pm!

I did some math, and as long as I do not eat more than another 1,000 cals, I won't gain. (Theoretically.) So rather than getting upset and saying "screw it," I'm going to get back in gear and just shoot my calorie goal a little higher.

I can do this. I know I can. I'm just so pissed that I gave in to begin with!

You sound as though you already know how to handle the problem. But, I wanted to send an "I understand" your way, too.

Every human being slips up from time to time. We learn. We lift our heads. We step forward.

This made me laugh, yes moving right along.......I understand all to well your situation. This happened to me today. I'm going to some friend's house for dinner. They are grilling salmon and I made a healthy low fat pasta salad. It is delicious and already ate some. I have 1000 calories left for this dinner but not happy with myself I ate it for lunch. So joyfulloser is right...... movin right along, we can do this.:dizzy:

You know what? You didn't eat the whole cake. And you have a plan going forward. Chalk it up to a learning experince and maybe don't bake any more cakes for a while :)
