My groceries last forever!
 

I started calorie counting on the seventh of last month and also started exercising. I am proud of my progress and in this last month, one thing I have seen is this: my groceries last so much longer-if I am not careful, my food goes bad! I have had to re-figure out how much to freeze and to estimate how much to leave in the fridge for immediate use. My veggies go faster, but my meats last until the cows come home, and I also feed four ferrets with my meat too. I measure everything, and cereals, yogurt, milk, crackers, and things like that really do last for a long time. I feel embarrassed of past me for eating up all that food for no reason.

I used to think it was cheaper to buy the junky food I was eating, rather than eating healthy. It turns out it wasn't, because I was eating soooo much more of the junk. Now that I have actual 'servings' of healthy stuff, my food goes a long way!

I save a ton of money on my groceries now, and my wine bill.

I notice the same thing! It's actually annoying sometimes how long it lasts because it goes bad and I feel like I'm wasting my money. I had to train myself to buy so much less. :dizzy:

Yes, it's pretty amazing. I think it's cool-usually my groceries last like a week; they're lasting much longer than that. But, last week, I had huge pack of chicken thighs go bad. :( I never thought to freeze it because it's usually gone so quickly

I am getting to the point where I see the price of meat and "snack" foods and junk and I'm like "WTF!?!?!?!" lol, and it's crazy because I used to buy this stuff to eat on the regular thinking it was easier for my lunch and junk, but now it's only my produce I'm worrying about.

I'm actually trying to get into Indian Vegetarian cooking and gardening in my own backyard this summer; I'll save lots of money and I'll learn some new recipes with good flavor and low calories
