Maybe I just have major only child syndrome, but it drives me *insane* when people mess with my pre-planned/counted/measured foods.
There have been other instances of people messing with my measured portions, but here's my biggest current gripe...I eat air-popped popcorn spritzed with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray and sprinkled with cinnamon and a sweetener packet or two (try it, it tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch) for my evening snack. I measure exactly 1/4 cup kernels, I log it every single night, and look forward to sitting down to my big bowl of popcorn and watching some shows with the hubs. Every once in awhile, he'll take a handful of my popcorn. This doesn't irk me too much, I often ask him for a nibble of whatever he's eating, so I can't whine. But when one handful turns into two and turns into three and turns into us sharing MY bowl of planned and measured popcorn...that starts makes me crawl in my skin, lol. I watch him shovelling handfulls of MY planned calories into his mouth without abandon. I offer to make him his own bowl of popcorn (I usually offer when I'm making my own anyways). He always just says "nah, I just want a few bites" I ask him if he wants me to get him some other snack. I'll pretend I'm "getting comfy" and move the popcorn to my side and position myself so the bowl is away from him but nothing works, lol. I've explained to him that this is a measured and counted portion of popcorn I made for myself and he just doesn't get it.
I feel like such a spoiled brat who never learned how to share by typing this out, but seriously, it messes with me! I logged those calories, I plan my day around them, I look forward to them. And it's not like I can estimate how many calories he ate, lol. I'd be absolutely thrilled to get up and make him his own bowl of popcorn.
Just had to whine about it, haha.
